Welcome to Fate. Tristan Lawson’s Fate. Which is apparently to be a virgin forever despite the fact that sex sounds awesome and he’d toss his celibacy club membership out the window in a heartbeat if only his alpha would wake up. Well, the guy who’s probably his alpha. And it’s not like Tristan actually wants to quit the OCC, he just wants Cade. And sex. Specifically, sex with Cade. And Cade will wake up, right? Soon. Or at least, eventually. He has to, because even if no one else knows it, Tristan is absolutely positively almost completely sort of sure that Cade is (hopefully) his fated mate… TRISTAN I just knew that finally heading off to live on my own for college last year would be everything I wanted it to be. (Well, almost everything, if you didn’t count the actual studying parts.) But freedom! Friends! Sex (finally)! But it turned out that I wasn’t exactly on my own since I ended up moving in with my big brother and his roommates, and then my brother decided we should all start a celibacy club, and since I hate letting people down almost more than I hate doing homework, of course I said yes (even though I was pretty bummed at the idea of not getting any sex). That was last year, and I’m the only one in the Omega Celibacy Club who’s still celibate. But that’s okay, because the other thing that happened last year? I’m pretty sure I found my fated mate. Cade Washington is a patient at the veterans hospital I volunteer at, and he’s in a coma, but all the stuff I feel when I’m around him, that has to be real, right? And someday, even if I’m the only one who seems sure of it, he will wake up… CADE I have no idea how long I’ve been in limbo, but what I do know is that this foggy, muffled half-existence is my own personal hell. Nothing exists here except memories I’d rather escape… and an omega. My omega. Except that for all the memories that endlessly plague me, I don’t have any of him, and that means he doesn’t really exist, either… except for in here. So even though I’m stuck here, I don’t want to leave, either. Because he’s here. Tristan’s here. And I’d rather spend every moment of whatever my life has become in this hell with him than return to a world where he doesn’t exist. Until I realize that Tristan needs me, and that maybe this wasn’t hell after all, but simply the price I had to pay to find the one thing I really needed all along… ***See TRIGGER WARNING in Look Inside, or skip straight to Chapter One to avoid spoilers*** MAKE ME SAY YES is the fourth book in the Omega Celibacy Club series, a contemporary omegaverse world where the only thing stronger than an alpha’s will is his desire to protect his omega and keep him happy, and where sometimes, doing that can save both of them.
Angel Knots is the pen name of a rabid Omegaverse fan who also happens to be a writer.
In real life, Angel goes by another name and pens contemporary gay romance stories when she's not chasing after the two small humans she spawned during the last decade.
She knows that the fans of her other books may not appreciate knotting, soul-bonds, and male impregnation as much as she does, so with the flick of a pen she created a new identity and happily started filling blank pages with self-lubricating omegas and the alphas they love.
The OCC is back but down a few members. Everyone is finding their mate and celibacy is kicked to the curb faster than yesterday's trash. Tristan is the last remaining member and he wants his forever alpha. Problem is, the alpha he's convinced is his, is in a coma and can't actually prove they're meant to be together. When evil fathers and supposedly fiancés step in, how is Tristan going to get his HEA?
I have absolutely loved this series. From the very beginning I couldn't wait for Tristan's story. All he wants is a home, an alpha and babies. I wanted to see him get all that and more. The release day for this book has gotten pushed back a few times. Understandably because shit happens. So, when it was released, I stopped in the middle of another series to read it because I was so excited. And while I did enjoy this and Tristan gets everything he deserves and I had hoped for, it was not my favorite and that disappoints me. I fully expected to 5 star this but I just can't.
First, there is sooo much internal monologue. Normally, that doesn't bother me but the problem was, there was very little actual dialogue between the mc's or side characters.
Secondly, Tristan thinks, breaths and lives sex. It got old after a while. I realize he was 19 but still. I had hoped he would mature a little.
Thirdly, it was freaking looonnngg with no real conflict. (Not complaining about the lack of relationship conflict) There were some outside forces but most was resolved easily enough and for a book this long, it could have used less internal monologue and more conflict to spice it up and sustain the page lengths.
Now, all that may be negative but I still enjoyed it and was happy for Tristan and Cade to both get the HEA they deserve. I'm looking forward to Robbie's book if the author gives it a go.
Tristan is the last member of the OCC that hasn't found his fated mate - only, he has - problem is, is that Cade is in a coma. All the feels, am I right? Tristan is ready for his mate, he wants babies - all the babies - but he needs his mate to wake up first!
It pains me to rate this book just 3 stars, but unfortunately the internal rambling and way-too-long story kinda killed my excitement to finally get Tristan's story. I wanted to love this - I have been looking forward to Tristan's story since we first met him in the very first book, but this one missed the mark for me.
What was a super long book should have been half, or maybe 2/3rds of what I read. And it was just filled with so much internalized dialogue and thoughts and repitition (we get it - Tristan is 19 and sex-crazed lol) that it distracted me from the overall story. There were moments with Tristan and Cade were just SO sweet - and also very sexy - together, but I know I skimmed a bunch because it was just rambling on forever.
I DO hope the author writes more - there's the short story that doesn't really have an ending, and now I want a story for Robbie!
This entire series is amazing. I absolutely love that there's no relationship drama. So sexy, so sweet, completely perfect. You won't want to miss this book
Wow! It has NEVER taken me this long to finish a book! In my defense I’m moving so... I have to admit Tristan and Cade’s book was better while Cade was still in a coma! Nice wrap up to the 4 book series.
Sooooo cute! It's a little (lot!) long, but Tristan has massive amounts of dialog going through his head all the time, so it had to be long so we all could hear it. And Cade is the perfect alpha for Tristan. Sigh!
Super cute and sweet. Tristan was hilarious and adorable and Cade was super nice and amazing. The senator drama was a little much, which would be my only complaint. I hope Andrew gets a book and Beckett and Robbie!!
If you like pages and pages of internal dialogue, then this book is definitely for you. If you took the internal dialogue out of this book it would probably only be 100 pages.. maybe less.. ugh..
Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of that much internal dialogue. So I skimmed a lot.. like a lot..
This story had SO much promise. Since book 1,Tristan was one of my favorite characters. His book should have been my favorite but I slogged through this book just so I could know what happened to him. It was great Cade was his fated mate. There wasn’t much conflict there or angst. I’m happy Tristan got his HEA finally and it was with his true mate.
SideNote: The ALWAYS mentioning of the 1 eyebrow thing got to be tedious as well.
It's all downhill after the first book in this series.
I skimmed through this and it still took hours because this installment is so needlessly LONG. It wastes too much time going over scenes and characters that have been touched on repeatedly in the other books. The repetition by this point is beyond tiresome, but I feel compelled to finish it. This book, in my opinion, was finished 43% in. At which point, Cade was awake, he was confirmed as Tristan's fated mate and his father had been kicked out. There is literally nothing worthwhile after that and getting to that point wasn't a good read either. Tristan's unhealthy fixation on comatose Cade, all the annoying asides in Tristan's chapters, the absurd drama regarding Cade's family are all just unnecessary. This could and should have been a more serious installment in the series given the themes the author wanted to include, but instead they throw in a few references to Cade's injuries and war trauma then keep everything so sunshine and lollipops that it's nauseating. More books are heavily implied to be coming in this series - Robbie, for sure, and the fake fiancee Andrew seems built up enough that the author plans to feature him again - and I am not here for it. I loved the first story, but the OCC is a dead horse now. Stop beating it, please.
I actually liked the plot of the story, but somewhere in the middle of the story, I was super annoyed with Tristan. He was not just Sunshineyy he was pure annoyance. Also, I have liked other books by this author and it's a reoccurring thing, but the entire internal monologue was a bit too much in this book. It was off the topic and extremely long, reading that distracted me from the actual conversation or the scene.
I liked the other books better in this series, especially Nolan and Emmett's stories.
Possible triggers: military man with PTSD and survivor’s guilt. Oh man, I love Tristan. He has really been the one to make this series whole. The books have all been special, but Tristan is just this….little ball of..as Cade calls him, sunshine. He just has this way about him that brightens everyone’s day. He has no filter whatsoever and being a horny omega young adult, who has never had sex, has no filter about talking about jacking off either lol. He is so funny. He’s like an over eager puppy that talks. He’s just the best. And he proves it everyday to the one who needs it most. Cade is stuck in his head, darkness and the last scene of his military life playing on repeat as he’s in his coma. He’s trying so hard to wake up, but the darkness just keeps sucking him down. His only redemption and quiet from it all is the bubbly omega who visits him. The one he somehow knows is his omega. He can hear everything Tristan tells him and wants to answer back but can’t. But somehow his past and his present meet head on as his father is up to his usual crap of manipulation and humiliation and Cade knows his omega needs him. Like now. And he finally awakens to make sure his mate is ok. And now, it’s time to move forward. His omega needs him and he needs his omega. And he finally has found something worth living for again. He just needs to get past the darkness in his head and the crap his father keeps trying to pull and make sure his omega knows this is forever for him. Science or not. I’ve already said how much I love Tristan. He is just the best. I love his personality, the way he cares for people, his wit, his lack of filter and most of all, the way he refuses to give up on Cade and the fact that he will wake up. He refuses to accept no other option. And he’s everything Cade needs. While Cade is swimming in darkness, Tristan is the sunshine that makes him feel alive and whole again. And Cade is perfect for Tristan just as much. He’s everything Tristan has ever wanted in an alpha. He’s smart, sexy, has his own brand of humor and wit and will do anything his little omega wants and needs. He is the protector, the supporter and the one who wants to be Tristan’s everything. And he is. I love these two. They have to go through a lot to get to where they are going, but they stand and keep fighting. They refuse to back down and give up. Sometimes they may have a few doubts or fears, but they keep going. They stand by each other, back each other up and are there for each other no matter what. I don’t know if there will be any more of these, since Tristan was technically the last of the OCC. But it would be cool to see maybe a short story or something about two certain friends who have found each other. And maybe some more down the road adventures. It’s a good series and I’m glad I got the chance to read it. You’re missing out if you haven’t. http://lovebytesreviews.com/
I have adored each and every story in the OCC. The characters are so real and comfortable feeling that I get lost in their stories. I want to be their friend. I want to bring them home and love them. I just adore them and wish they were real so I could meet them and hug them!
I have loved Tristan since the very beginning. He's always been the sunny personality in the series and I absolutely loved the way his scenes were written like you were in his head - the running commentary just perfectly written and totally adorable. And Cade was the perfect Alpha.
Tristan has so many great quotes in this story...his self-dialogue is so hilarious. This one is one of the sweetest:
...if, like, "happy" had been a big enough word to encompass the away my heart suddenly felt like it had turned into the actual sun and rays of pure goodness were shooting out of the it and warming up the whole world. Which, for the record, it wasn't.
And Cade's self discovery and life processing was so heartwarming...like this passage:
love. It had only been a word to me before Tristan burst into my life, but now it was a living, breathing thing that I'd lay down my life to protect.
I can't say enough good about this book. It's simply the best. Take a chance on Tristan and Cade and I can't imagine you not falling in love with them! <3
I love this series but the stuff I loved in the other books-mostly the hilarious OCC meetings- were missing from this one. This book didn't even have a single one. :(
I did like Tristan's book it just felt so different than all the other books. In a lot of ways it was more serious because although Tristan is super sexual he isn't unserious. It didn't have many side characters and the MCs did it alone which is great for power couple realness but also sad. I also found Tristan's epic horniness to be a bit too much. I get he is a young virgin but it was too much at points.
I did like that this book was low angst but also had some side drama.
Overall, a good story just not my favorite OCC book.
OH MY GOD!!! This book—cue the laughs, the tears, all the emotions. I absolutely thought Tristan was hilarious and adorable in the other books in the Omega Celibacy Club series, but his story with Cade is amazing and gave me all the feels. I tested up and can’t believe how Angel was able to bring all of this to life. The coma, the stress of the family and the feel of knowing what you want but having to face that others have other expectations for you is so tough but Tristan and Cade get through it all together and make their worlds complete. Super HEA and hot. Oh my. I loved this book. Cannot wait for Audiobook to come to life too!!!
The last roommate finds his love, but is unsure due to him being in a coma. Tristan has the courage and guts to fight for his love for Cade even when outside forces try to push him away. Cade for his part becomes the alpha that needed when he wakes up by claiming Tristan as his and moving forward in his recovery. The scenes between them were hot, but the obstacles were annoying but they could not be pulled apart. It was interesting meeting an omega that was interested in other omegas. Maybe there can be a match for another story in the series for other characters in the future. It was a great conclusion to the last original member of OCC, but I hope its not the last story in this universe.
Make Me Say Yes was not my favourite in the series, but it is by far the funnies!! Tristan is HI-LAIR-I-OUS!!! He has no filter and his internal dialogue is LOL funny!! Cade, I think, maybe my favourite MC2 in this series. His calming personality was the ying to Tris's yang. Personally, I think there was too much unnecessary internal dialogue making Make Me Say Yes far long than it needed to be. If you don't mind a longer read and enjoy a funny omegaverse series, the OCC series may just be right up your alley.
This was my least favorite of the series because there was absolutely no buildup to the romance, Cade woke up from the coma and boom they were already in love. It also seemed longer than it needed to be honestly, although I did appreciate Tristan's constant internal babbling at first, it was very true to his character.
Summary: Tristan has been volunteering at a veteran's hospital for a year and sticks to the bedside of Cade, who's in a coma, because he's convinced he's his fated mate. As this is a romance novel, they are fated mates and lots of smut ensues!
This fourth book of the Omega Celibacy Club series was well-written and entertaining with good character development. So, I did have one issue with this book: while Tristan is hilarious, and I enjoyed his story, there's just a bit too much interior monologue. I mean, there were so many times when you just knew the person trying to have a conversation with him was dealing with long stretches of dead silence while he got lost in his head, which is a really annoying trait. Overall though, I thought that the story pulled the series to a decent conclusion.
I loved every book in this series until this one. I loved Tristan throughout all the books, until this one. This one just felt a bit long and drawn out in relation to them getting together and working through the issues with Cade's Dad. The story was well-written and engaging, but I just didn't enjoy it as much as the others.
I also appreciated the details provided in the Trigger Warning at the beginning of the book. While I don't have Triggers, I always read them anyway and I do know the military so appreciate that the author understands this might not be "reality" outside of her world.
This whole series has been a fun one to read but I will admit, This is the book I've been waiting for, Tristan the sex crazed youngest member of the OCC finds his perfect Fated mate in Cade, the pair are ridiculously cute together and their chemistry and connection is smoking. There are some characters which we haven't had stories for, so I personally hope this isn't the last one.
Wow. I adored this book. Spoiler. I was super concerned in other books when it mentioned tristian was in love with a vet in a coma. And became more so on first starting this. But then cades character devolpes more. You get to see everything is just so perfect. They are perfect. Such a great book. Loved it.
I have been waiting for this story to come out and it was definitely worth the wait. Tristan found his Alpha, Cade, when he was volunteering at the VA hospital. Cade was in a coma. Great storyline, I loved these two guys. Love the mpreg world that Angel Knots has created. I hope we get to read Beck and Robbie's story!
I made it halfway through before I just couldn't anymore and usually if I stick out out past 50 pages I see it through because it feels like a waste. Tristan was so one dimensional and I kept waiting for something else to happen. When it didn't I couldn't figure out why the book was so blasted long so I stopped.
I’ve read the whole series so I wanted to finish this one, but it took me weeks because I would stop and read other books in between. This book seemed soooo long and so wordy, I just kept thinking “get on with it already”. I did however finish the book and it’s okay. I wish it tied up the series a little better, but oh well.
I was really digging this up until the point where Cade woke up, and then it was skim-city because of how repetitive and over the top some of the story elements became. Not all of the OTT things were bad, some were expected and I enjoyed those parts, but others seemed underdeveloped or tacked on for the sake of adding in conflict.
Tristan and Cade’s story is the perfect finish to this series. Ever since meeting Tristan in book one I have been eager to read his story. It was everything I could hope for and more! This one really does need to be read in order to be truly appreciated. It’s full of Tristan’s zero filter and of course baking. Oh! Let’s not forget sex. There is a LOT of sex. A must read.
We have been building up to the story the entire series. To say that this HAD to be an amazing story after all that isn't enough. Angel knocks it out of the park with the story. I hope to see some of the non OCC members we see get their HEA and redemption
ok this was really cute and adorable but there was way too much sex or talking about sex in this book. It probably could have been half as long. Still it had some really funny moments and I did love this couple.
Premise is good and the plot etc was good. But at the same time this book was way too long and filled with too much internal dialogue diarrhea that could have been cut out for a much more enjoyable story.
I had to just give up on this book at 50%. the internal monologuing took up about 75% of this book. I couldn't follow the characters conversations because there would be 3 pages of internal monologue between one person speaking and the next.
