King built his fortress to keep people out, not in.
After his abusive old man kicked the bucket, King took the family fortune and built a haven for women and children who needed protection. He has one rule and that is the women decide when they get to leave.
When Hayden shows up, all his self-discipline goes out the window. He’s ready to risk it all to keep her . . . even against her will.
Hayden came to find her sister -- not a man --but one look at King has all her female parts kicking into high gear. He’s autocratic and demanding and everything she shouldn’t like but she can’t help being attracted to the soft heart he keeps hidden.
She should run away but every moment she spends with him has her wishing that her home could be the King’s Castle.
This is a quick, sexy, insta-love short story that had very little angst. It is a perfect read for when you are low on reading time but still want a little escape! I enjoyed this one a bit more than Ella Goode’s last novella, and this was just what I needed for over the busy weekend! 😁
King's mother was never able to get away from his abusive father, so all he has inherited from his father, he has used to provide a safe haven and a home for women and children needing to escape their abusers. Hayden arrives at King's door, determined to take her sister back to their small-town, refusing to allow a man from derailing her life, but when she gets there Hayden finds King and not her sister. At first glance King knows Hayden is the woman for him, the woman who will be his wife and his determined to keep her in his home no matter what it takes.
Both the hero and heroine are
The addition of the short scene where was just so unnecessary, but other than that this was a rather entertaining short read. The banter between King and Hayden made me smile more than once.
King and his cousin Cyn run a womans center to help these ladies in need and when a girl comes to them King is already smitten and protective of her, Hayden is annoyed and only here for one reason her sister who said she was headed to this place for work. And now she enjoys teasing King about a fake boyfriend and learns of what this place is.
But there is some drama and i honestly didn't think it would be from Hayden's side.. but that doesn't stop our boy from making sure his girl is safe.. now he has to convince her to stay..
🤣🤣🤣 Also kings name.. isn't king.. that's his last name.. first name is Castle...
These two were funny together and the secondary charas are interesting to.. like Jake and his relationship with Kings Cousin.. that shall be a push/pull story.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy times, slight secondary chara, virgin girl & no manwhore guy

Another hit for Ella Goode!!! This is Kings story from Oh Snowy NightI loved the banter between the main characters and can't wait for the secondary characters stories (at least I hope they get stories)
-safe read -h is a virgin -H is either a virgin or celibate for a long time and not a manwhore at all!!! Some comments lead me to believe virgin but it was never stated. -no om/ow drama -epilogue maybe a few years out
This book was a little too short, but still a good read with a billionaire named King who creates a haven for women who are abused I memory of his mother. In comes Hayden who is there to find her sister. King sees her and decides to keep her forever.
King's Castle started out much better than Oh Snowy Night and that feeling lasted for about half of the story to me. After that, it became very frustrating—as in “you’re trying to enjoy your ice-cream and someone is blowing their hair-dryer on it” frustrating.
Another fun read that makes you laugh out loud. King and Hayden don’t even know each other’s names until towards the end. There are some very serious undertones that are touched on. King’s Castle is a safe place and a great place to find your HEA.
Super possessive hero- bratty heroine- pursuit- sex- HEA. I'll be very honest, I was REALLY confused as to what was happening in the book, and who the characters were. That being said, the epilogue was hilarious.
This was beyond terrible. There is absolutely no plot, character development, nor chemistry between the leads. It honestly doesn't even make sense as a book.
The main guy is a saviour of all women... who literally tries to trap the woman he's attracted to in his 'compound', continuously sexually harasses her, and gets angry at the mere mention of other men?
Also, they say 'I love you' after genuinely a day. That's not an exaggeration - it's honest to god 24 hours.
Awe! This was a sweet one by Ella. King meets Hayden when she comes looking for her sister to bring her back home. Little does she know her sister is hiding. She also didn’t know King helps women and children escape. You should definitely check this one out! It’s a great insta-love novella.
It was ok. Generous 3 stars. I don't think this author is for me. It was very insta love and Hayden was hard to like. A lot of the conflict resolution happens off page. King was holding out until he found out her name, but then her name was revealed off hand in a conversation. It was just a bit odd.
This was a sweet and sexy story. King runs a safe place for women escaping abuse with his cousin Cyn. One afternoon brings an unexpected woman looking for her sister who is supposed to be working there. King is immediately smitten with Hayden and knows she is going to be his wife. Hayden is attracted and drawn to King but fights him at every turn. I loved the banter between King and Hayden, they were sweet, funny and combustible.
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No ow drama, guy from h’s town shows up because he’s been tracking her but he was dealt with quickly and off page. I know the h was a virgin but the H wasn’t clear to me. If he wasn’t a virgin he hadn’t been with many women. No abuse even though it takes place at a shelter.

"I love you and you know it would break me if you left me.”
Oh boy, was this a fantastic read. Funny, sweet and has an OTT, possessive H. I honestly laughed out loud several times. -virgin h and I'm deciding the H is a virgin too although it's not specifically stated in those words -dual POV -no cheating or abuse -no details but some talk of abuse since they run a safe haven place for women/children Definitely recommend reading.
Loved this story. Hayden and King were so good together. Loved the storyline and the side characters. The whole story was just so good. It is a quick read that will leave you with a smile on your face and in your heart. Can’t wait to read more from Ella.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
King's Castle by Ella Goode is the story of King and Hayden. King has created a safe place for women and children after his abusive father past. Hayden is looking for her sister but ends up finding King who now has his eyes on her. They have some hot, spicy words but King isn't about to loose something he has found...her. Quick Hot Read!
I was so happy to see this in my email. Finally we get King's story and what is going on up at his place. King is such a good man and is doing great things. I just know you'll love his story as much as I do. I read an advanced copy of this book.
a very short book with a quick romance which i love. i thought king would be an egoistic/arrogant main character but he’s actually really sweet and caring. hayden tried to not fall for king but she just couldn’t help it. their romance is really cute.
Every time I read a Ella Goode book, it always becomes my new favorite from her. Sweet Sunshine was no different. I loved everything about King and Hayden's story. It was sweet, funny and hot - all the things I want in a romance, with such a great writing style that I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to get the whole story. I loved the banter between those 2.
