I appreciate the early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved the book, from the beginning until the end. I was intrigued, excited at all times. The story mentions a 300-year-old legend related to the Spaniards who were present int he Amelia island. Apparently, there is a treasure in the bottom of the ocean, first mate Jed is trapped in the eastern Atlantic, he needs money to have his life back. This is a very well researched and well written historical fiction which I thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of adventure and lots of action. I would have given this book 5 stars but there were a few problems for me.
Most of the characters got little or no description, which I think helps ground the reader better.
First, little to no description of the character named Maya. I could not get a sense of how strong she was,if she was mid sized or if she was petite. Was she mixed breed as implied MUCH later in ...more

This was a total thrill ride from beginning to end! I picked up a copy of Lions in the Water at a local book festival last weekend. I was hooked from Chapter 1 and the plot never stalled for a second! The descriptions and level of detail this author writes with will reel you in and make you feel part of the story. His characters are interesting and personable, leaving you wanting to learn more about each one. Jack Wyatt is a gifted story-teller and I hope there is a second installment soon! High

I will start by saying that I usually don't like this kind of books, but i enjoy very much movies with treasure hunt. So i I decide to try something different to read these days and I'm happy that I did 😊😊!!
This was very good book! Little bit cliche and salty but that was exactly what it make it nice to read. It was like watching classic treasure hunting movie!

I really enjoyed this book! Lots of action and would make a great movie. Also got to meet the author and looking forward to his next book! Excellent read!
