OBriens latest, What She Found, is everything I look for in a good story. This twisted mystery starts from page onewho are these characters, why are they the way they areand continues until the very last amazing word.

Every character contributed to this twisted web. As soon as I decided on a theory, the author swatted it away with a new surprise.

This book will undoubtedly be in my Top Reads of 2020, because its already in my Top Reads ever. Im obsessed with this story. The way the author

Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!! Holy Hannah, did this one keep me guessing! All the way through, I was saying "oooh, it's him, I know it" , then "Ooh, maybe it's her!", then I'd be back to him, no her, no him. GAH!! I loved it!!

So, this group of friends meets up at a vacation rental. Tabbie, Connor, Liz, Arland, Cassy, Matt, and the newcomer, Wesley. Everything is going great, the booze is flowing,

I found this novel rather slow to start with, the pace only picked up in the third chapter and I didnt really know what was going on. Bonnie is dead was a great opening line, but Bonnie was soon forgotten in the narrative and I was a bit frustrated not to know who Bonnie was until halfway through the second chapter. Maybe I was just tired!

Once a mysterious woman arrived, with sundry plot twists to follow, it became a very enjoyable read with believable, three-dimensional characters and an

Heart pounding suspense by one of the best writers in this genre. Ms. O' Brien has written another story that you will not be able to put down, so make sure you have time to read the whole book when you start it. In this book we meet some friends who have met through a therapy group. After the loss of one of them, the group makes a pac that nothing will ever tear them apart. I enjoyed meeting these characters, but the more we get to know them, the more you wonder if you know them at all. Tabbie ...more

What started as a weekend getaway for a group of friends turns to a nightmare. Their story starts in the first chapter and draws you in completely. This twisted psychological thriller is just that a thriller from page one to the end. The characters each have a role and take it seriously as the fingers are pointed and the blame laid out and each new revelation is like peeling an onion, it just leads to more. I don't know how I found this author but since she has appeared in my life my ...more

This story hits me close to home because I personally have gone through what Tabs and Derek were going through. I almost didn't finish it, the emotions were just so spot on I was re-living them myself. The only difference is my soon to be ex, is still alive, and in another state, than where I live. Having said all that, this is a great story! Her close group of friends who have been together since college and supported each other since. Then a strange woman shows up at their week 'getaway' and ...more

WHAT SHE FOUND is another great story from Emerald O'Brien, her books never disappoint. She knows to weave a tale that surprises you in the end. Don't expect a compelling beginning. This is a slow and confusing but compelling mystery that slowly draws you in with the suspense, scandals, cheating, drama and all the twists and turns you could want. You will find yourself turning page after page to find out what happens next, and you won't be disappointed

I received an ARC of this book from the author, Emerald O'Brien, via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review. This book grabbed my attention from the beginning and the suspense kept me on edge and guessing about who did it until the end. About the time I had it figured out there was a twist in the beginning mystery of who Karina was and what happened to her. As that mystery was evolving, other mysteries had to be solved and all were linked to the first one. I loved this book and ...more

A superb suspense that projects us into the action from the first page. We experience the adventure through Tabitha's words, which plunges us even deeper into the heart of the plot. A group of friends meet in a secluded cottage for their annual vacation. A stranger, Karina, knocks on the door following an accident. When Karina disappears without a trace, the friends realize that they are the last ones to see her. There follows a series of events where the friends' loyalty and trust are called ...more

This is an ensemble story involving a number of people. It opens with a group of friends gathered for a weekend in wine country. Although the group considers themselves to be family, there is tension and secrets that slowly emerge. A woman appears and mysteriously vanishes. This sets the basis for the entire rest of the book. Despite all the clues, it is impossible to figure out what happened until the very end, and by that time the family bonds have been destroyed, and the dark side of each ...more

I was delighted to be sent an advanced copy to read. I had stumbled across Emeralds books by chance on my amazon unlimited books and was immediately hooked to her style of writing. So I was excited to read this new book. From the beginning the characters draw you in and you find yourself second guessing the who done it. I wasnt able to guess the final reveal as Emerald expertly twists and intertwines the plot so well. For me this is what I love. Dont you just hate when you can guess the plot ...more

I was literally on the edge of my seat waiting anxiously to find out whodunnit...... of course I was wrong.......

The friendship between this group of friends was complicated and so many deep deceptive secrets showed up throughout the novel!!!

Full of suspense. What a twist at the end, never saw it coming. The people you thought you could most trust in the world start to doubt each other. Who is telling the truth? Is Karina dead or is she alive? What happened to her? Why did she show up at the weekend getaway of a close knit group of friends, that she supposedly knew no one? Was it by chance or intentional? Who is trying to frame the members of the group? Another winner by Emerald. Her books don't disappoint. She has a way of weaving ...more

I was a bit disappointed when I started this book and realized it wasnt part of one of the series this author writes and that I love. That disappointment lasted about three pages and then I realized I should have known better. Nothing Emerald OBrien writes could be disappointing. Nonstop suspense and tight plotting kept me reading until I finished the book.

This is one of those books that leaves you questioning whether you can ever really know someone and if you can trust those you believe you

Intense thriller with twists and suspense that just keeps growing.
A group of friends go away on their annual trip. But this trip isnt like the others. Friends you thought you knew have lives that are based on lies, intrigue and murder. This is an excellent book that moves along at a pace that even though you think you know what is going to happen - it only proves you wrong. A new author for me...but not her last book I will read. Emerald has become one of my favorite mystery authors and this book proves that once again she's great at it. It took me a little while to really get into it, but once I did, I didn't want to put it down. Emerald OBrien is masterful at creating stories that keep readers puzzled, frightened and literally on edge, never aware of the twisted shock at the end. That is what makes her latest book, What She Found, the epitome of a thrilling thriller.
It began as a fun get away, then you realize something is off. Then its actually astonishing how the planned get away was planned. No spoilers, this story is too good, a must read for thriller fans. You do not want to miss a story this twisted.
