What an exciting read! For a debut novel, this is somewhat accomplished and I can't wait to read more from the series.

Having been drawn in by the title, I was soon whisked away into a world of intrigue. I wasn't sure what to expect going into the book and I totally didn't expect what happened but I loved it. I read this book in one sitting. I can definitely see why it works well as a standalone but I do love how the ending paved the way for future books.

Probably a decent book but ...
Just not for me. Thought it was something else when I started it but quickly realised it was more of a young adult book than anything else and I was hoping for another type of novel completely. It is probably very good for the right audience though.
