Insightful, educational and fun...

More often than not children relate themselves with the characters of a good story. In such circumstances, reading fiction can help them to get inspiration from the characters. These stories often portray real life implications through anecdotes, and as such makes it easier for them to understand the complex aspects of life. Moreover, reading these stories at regular intervals can actually help them to develop a positive outlook towards life, which eventually pr

Yummy Men Feels So Good is a really cute book is to help children explore their feelings. Feelings are sometimes hard for children to understand, and Liam I am Dan does such a fantastic job in this precious little book, using unique animals that we don’t see a lot in children’s books. Through these special animals, your child can learn to identify with whatever feeling they are having. I think my favorite has to be the Owl. With the oh so adorable picture of the Owl look

I enjoy reading children's books now and then because a hidden message can almost always be found that is teaching children something but in a fun and colorful way.  This book achieves that goal.  This book teaches children about feelings and emotions and that it is ok to have different feelings and emotions throughout the day.  All people feel different emotions at different times depending on the situation, their surroundings, and how they feel that day. I think this book could open up some di ...more
I call this the book of self. Not in a negative sense but in a learning and knowing sense. We are multifaceted as a people. When you learn to embrace your different me's, I believe you'll move forward in a sense of calm knowing that it's okay to experience different emotions. This is a simple approach to introduce and navigate children to an awareness of their emotions and talk to them about how they are feeling. ...more

Yummy is not a feeling. It is a broad flavor descriptor that it is possible to have too much of. I wouldn't call it a children's book, I feel like it's more of an adult book in young packaging.
Iread book tours sent me this book to review it.
I have rated this book three stars because of two reasons, each of which I thought deserved a star removal. Firstly as something of a logophile, I find that I don't approve of the choice of yummy. I understand the choice, as it is a word children are familiar

Yummy Me Feels So Good offers a fun way for families to talk about emotions and feelings. Especially today, and my house is no exception; we seem to run an entire course of emotions within a very short time--sometimes within an hour! We run from happy to sad to mad to happy and peace-filled to anger-filled. This easy to read children's book offers short, fun to read pages with bright, bold words and illustrations that help the author convey emotions and messages to readers. As the animals show r ...more

What I Loved:
The illustrations throughout Yummy Me Feels So Good are children’s artwork. My daughter really enjoyed looking at each page and discussing the drawing. It was a lot of fun and a great addition to the book!

How I Felt:
Yummy Me Feels So Good has a great message for children, and adults really, about the different “Me’s” that we experience. They are all a part of who we are, and we can embrace them.

This book is targeted at ages 3-7, and I felt that the story fit that age range well. I r

Each day we experience a myriad of emotions – happiness, sadness, guilt, fear, anger, etc. As adults, we might be aware we are not these emotions but more than them although I must admit I have struggled plenty of times to separate me from the emotions of excitement and sadness. Now just imagine the children, especially the younger ones, going through the same roller coaster ride of emotions and getting confused for not being able to classify what are those and to realize who is the real ‘Me’ in ...more

Yummy Me Feels So Good is a cute little children’s book by Lion I Am. It is a great way for children to learn about their feelings. Some of these feelings include: sad, grumpy, silly and many more. It is full of colorful, vibrant, eye catching and pleasing illustrations of various animals, such as, an owl, a manatee. There are even pictures of insects and other things you may see in the world. I loved that they were actually created by a child’s hand. They were a perfect addition and a great way ...more

Basics first.

The book is approximately 36 pages long, but not all of the pages have words. The pictures are magnificent. Absolutely beautiful.

The words are large text and easy to read. The book is recommended for ages 3-7. It is a great book for learning readers as there is a lot of repetitive sight words. My youngest is 7 (going into 2nd grade) and can read this with little assistance.

Overall, the book is fun and cute and opens up room for a conversation with your child about their “Me’s”. As t

This book has so many things that appeal to young children. There are easy-to-read words in large text, bright colorful illustrations, and sentences that are repeated over and over to help them remember. Yummy Me Feels So Good features different animals and some of them look like they could have been drawn by children themselves. These animals represent different emotions and the reassurance that it's okay to have these different feelings. They can feel happy, hungry, grumpy, or even mad, and th ...more

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

As an adult, I understand that the goal of the text is to explain to children that it’s okay to feel different emotions and that each emotion is temporary. Because children won’t understand that when reading this book on their own, it should be read aloud and discussed at least the first time or two.

Yummy Me Feels So Good has great illustrations. They’re colorful,

Yummy Me is a Seal who feels best when he is in his happy place.  However, Yummy Me feels many emotions throughout the day such as loving, grumpy, silly and angry.  Yummy Me feels all of these emotions and allows them to pass through the day.

Yummy Me feels so good is a great way to begin talking about emotions and feelings for kids aged 2-5.  Simple text accompanied by playful animal drawings help children to associate the feeling with the animal.  The text reassures children that it is ok to fe

This picture book is delightful on so many levels. It is recommended as a discussion guide to be used by parents, teachers, and therapists to explain to young children why their emotions and moods change rapidly. Children are often scared and frightened by sudden shifts of emotions, whether caused by external circumstances or the people around them.

By displaying a picture of an animal with a specific feeling, children can empathize and understand the concepts. When a child understands that emoti

My Review of
By Lion I Am

This book was an adorable children’s book depicting illustrations and a couple of child-like drawings that featured animals, birds or insects that you would normally see in a zoo.

I loved that they all described a feeling or mood in a way for children to comprehend. It also included a couple not so positive feelings that children themselves might experience and can relate to in an easy words and picture book.

I think this would definitely be a book I r

This book helps children understand "who me is" is a unique way

This book is full of description and different feelings for a child to learn from. It provides them a look into different aspects that make each person themselves and that it can change day to day or minute to minute. The illustrations were simple and the text was helpful to teach children poetry at the same time as descriptive words to express themselves.

What a cute story, it teaches small children that it's part of life to feel all sorts of feelings, sad, hungry, happy, mad... This is an interesting and useful book that is an enjoyable way for parents to sit and spend time with their children. It is a great way to introduce different feelings and emotions that a child may have had or is going to have and to be able to discuss those feelings and how they make up a person but don’t have to dictate how that person is all of the time.

Lion I Am gives us an adorable and fun way to talk about feelings with young kiddos in Yummy Me Feels So Good! Through a bit of prose and cute pictures, the story walks us through some different feelings. This was a nice lighthearted read and a great way to explore feelings with little ones! If you have young kiddos at home, this one’s for you!

Cute children’s book about exploring and accepting their feelings. It helps children recognize that they may cycle through several different feelings throughout the day.

Perfect for K – 3. While recommended for children through Grade 6, I think it may be too simple for the higher grades in that range.

Yummy Me is an interesting children's book. It isn't so much a story as it is a guide to emotions. With easy to read words and fun illustrations to look at, kids will enjoy discovering that it's okay to feel sad, mad, happy, hungry, etc. Aimed at kids 3-8, Yummy Me will offer a simple introduction to the different types of "me" kids can be based on their emotions. The one thing I did find a little strange was that Yummy Me felt yummy. I wouldn't necessarily say that's an emotion, but I'm sure ki ...more

The author Lion I Am Dan lives on a beautiful island with lots of trees and animals. He likes quiet spaces in nature just like his animal friends.

He enjoys talking to the turtles, dolphins and whales when they visit him.

Like the Lion he enjoys relaxing in nature and listening to the sounds of the birds and animals and that of the wind in the swaying bamboos. He especially loves walking along the b
