The Secret Service’s number one cyber asset, Special Agent Ben Segar, has a reputation for playing it straight... until a top-secret assignment has him cozying up to an enigmatic beauty from his past – his runaway prom date. Now, he’s willing to break a few rules to even the score, including unmasking a potential traitor, which would make his revenge even sweeter.
Photographer Quinn Darby was born into the spy game. When her life is threatened, she turns to the one man she knows she can trust, but Ben is no longer the mild-mannered lab partner she once loved. Instead, he’s a full-grown, alpha-man whose appeal is even more irresistible. She’s vowed to never again deceive him, but to protect him, she must keep her double life a secret.
Soon, Quinn and Ben are embroiled in a cat-and-mouse game with the enemy – and each other. As the case intensifies, so does the heat between them. Will the greatest casualties be their hearts?
Tracy Solheim writes books with shirtless men on the cover. Some of them are actually best-sellers. The books, not the men. When she's not writing, she's practicing her curling. . . bottles of wine, that is. She's been known to cook dinner but no more than two nights in a row. Most days, she'd rather be reading, which to her is just necessary research. She lives in the suburbs of Atlanta with her husband and a neurotic Labrador retriever. Her two adult children visit but not often enough. (See the note above about cooking.) Sign up for her newsletter at https://www.tracysolheim.com/ to see what she’s up to. She'll send you a free cookbook from her Chances Inlet series as a thank you!
Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review A quote (from ARC): “She lifted her lashes to meet his steady gaze. There was so much honor in the depths of those hazel eyes it made her throat tight.”
A sweet but full of action love story featuring two old flames, both hiding plenty of secrets, “Between Love and Honor”, by Tracy Solheim (Tule Publishing), is an easy and enjoyable read, although it felt a bit predictable and dragging in parts. The contrast in both main characters between gentleness/kindness and bravery/danger was one of my favorite aspects of this novel. For such a cool, independent, fierce heroine, Quinn is also a romantic at heart. The hero, Ben, is a combination of sweetness and danger, too. The “I loved you for years” trope is intertwined with a web of deceit, secrets and lies or half truths as the romantic couple navigates through their shared history and rebuild their attraction. The suspense plot didn’t really grab my attention, although there was a cinematic quality into some scenes that was very appealing.
Ben and Quinn have a past going back to high school. She was his moon and stars to his little geeky heart. Fast forward 13 years and Quinn can still knock Ben off his axis. Ben is the cyber security expert for security service and homeland security, while hanging out in the White House. Quinn has been in the spy game for years, now that it has collided again with Ben her world has been turned topsy turvy. A great spy must have no one in their lives, unfortunately the heart wants Ben.
A well developed series with characters that the reader have grown to love. Tons of twist and turns in the plot, that makes the reader go yeah did not see that coming. I adored seeing past couples from the men of secret service series. I can't wait for more in this series.
I absolutely loved Ben, who is brilliant and makes the world a safer place, even if none of his friends or family know the truth of his work. And when he comes face to face with the girl who broke his heart years ago. Quinn is brilliant and deadly and not used to working with, well, anyone. What a thrilling story, from start to finish! I now need to go back and read the other books in the series!
If you've been waiting for Ben's story, you won't be disappointed in the latest installment of the Men of The Secret Service.
Ben and Quinn are multi-layered characters with an unresolved past who can't seem to find a way to move forward amidst all the secrets. Secrets from the past, secret jobs, secret contacts...nobody knows all the secrets, and you will be turning pages faster and faster to see how all these secrets come together. The story twists and turns, with a final resolution you will never see coming.
I furiously read to get to the end to find out what happened, then went back to reread and savor the story. I highly recommend for those who love an edge of your seat mystery paired with a hot love story.
I was excited to finally get to read Ben’s story....I liked him in the other “Men of the Secret Service” books. However, this can be read as a stand alone without feeling like you are missing anything. Suspense, romance, humor, friendships, and sweet moments...this book has it all. Tracy does a great job of telling a great story that makes you experience all the above. Tracy’s characters always have many layers that allow you to like them and not like them so much 😜sometimes. The suspense of this book always has you second guessing and it is full of surprises. You get romance and good friends relationships. Another one that will go in my keeper pile.
I have been waiting for Ben to meet his match and get his own love story and Ms. Solheim did not let me down. Before you even get comfortable in your chair Ben’s past appears right before his eyes ready to disrupt the life, he’s made for himself.
Both Ben and Quinn are full of enough secrets and trust issues to fill the white house, and oh, how I loved watching them work through their issues.
This book is full of fun, romance and suspense. I highly recommend it!
Tracy Solheim does it again! As I read this book in one day, couldn't put it down, she skillfully writes in layers upon layers for her main characters, Ben and Quinn, as she takes you through twists and turns, secrets, and secrets unraveled, into a well-crafted story of suspense and romance. It was fun to read Ben's story at last.
Between Love and Honor by Tracy Solheim The Secret Service’s number one cyber asset, Special Agent Ben Segar, has a reputation for playing it straight…until his latest assignment has him cozying up to his runaway prom-date. Now, he’s willing to break a few rules to get even. And closing in on a cyber terrorist at the same time makes his revenge even sweeter. Quinn Darby has spent a lifetime paying for her parents’ mistakes, including being forced into an arrangement to help a known counterfeiter. Determined to find a way to finally set her family free, she turns to the only man she can trust. Soon, she and Ben are embroiled in a tense cat-and-mouse game and Quinn realizes her heart is at as much risk as her life. She’s always regretted hurting the teenage Ben, but the full-grown Alpha-man Ben is a whole different animal and impossible to resist. As the hunt for the missing link to the case intensifies, so does the heat between them. Ben has sworn to never again let Quinn have a piece of his heart, but it may be too late. Soon Ben is risking even more—his job, national security and his life to give Quinn the freedom she desperately seeks. This is Quinn Darby and Ben Segar's story. The photographer pressed her back against the hard stone of the building, doing her best to fade into the darkness. Several pairs of boots stomped along the cobblestones in pursuit. She held her breath, willing them to pass her by. They didn’t. As silently as possible, she released the safety on her handgun and let her training kick in. But just before they rounded the corner, a voice cried out in the distance. “She went this way,” a male shouted in French. “Do you have it?” the nun asked quietly in French. Ben Segar swore in frustration as he tugged at the eighteen inches of silk wrapped tightly around his neck. He was a former army ranger and trained Secret Service agent with advanced degrees from MIT and Stanford, for crying out loud. His fingers could dismantle an IED, fire a kill-shot accurately from fifty meters, and bring a woman to ecstasy in two minutes flat. Yet tonight, they couldn’t seem to wrestle a damned bow tie into place. “Hey, Boy Genius, allow me.” Secret Service Agent Christine Groesch tapped him on the shoulder indicating he should turn from the mirror and face her. Between Love and Honor by Tracy Solheim is a 4 star book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy. Tracy's Books with Tule: Holiday at Magnolia Bay Smolder Firefighters of Montana Recipe for Disaster Men of the Secret Service Shot in the Dark Men of the Secret Service Between Love and Honor Men of the Secret Service
I received this arc from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the final book in the Men of the Secret Service series. I did not read either of the first books and didn’t feel lost. I really enjoyed this suspenseful second chance romance of Quinn and Ben. Both characters were very likable as were Ben’s two best friends and their ladies. Ben is a secret service cyber agent, possessing extreme skills that allow him to successfully interact in the dark web. Quinn was supposed to be Ben’s prom date many years ago but ended up standing him up. Ben was heartbroken as he didn’t know why she ghosted him, leaving town with her parents. We learn that Quinn is also a secret agent/spy but her loyalties are not immediately revealed.
At the beginning, there is a party at the White House with the president and various delegations from many countries are to attend. There is a Russian man, Alexi Ronoff who is a person of interest to be watched by the secret service. Much to Ben’s surprise, he arrives with Quinn, who he has been searching for for 13 years. Quinn is also an amazing photographer and she is using that role to hide her true intentions toward Alexi. There is a micro card with valuable information on it that Quinn believes Alexi to be trying to obtain. Quinn’s mission is to get the card before Alexi is on to her. She realizes that Alexi didn’t get the card and it must have so how ended up in Ben’s tux pocket. Ben had a micro card of his own with his Voyeur operating system that he was demonstrating to his boss.
Later Quinn seeks out Ben to try and retrieve the card with the list on it as she fears he is in danger from Alexi for having it. She has no idea all of Ben’s secret duties and responsibilities. He catches her trying to look around his boat. She says it’s to talk about the past. He has to do some work so he agrees to meet her later. When he gets back he includes her in his dinner plans with his friends. She sneaks away to his boat to look for the card and ends up being attacked by Alexi and his goons and left for dead. Ben realizes Alexi has stolen his Voyeur card, thinking it was instead the list.
As the book continues, we learn bits and pieces about Quinn’s past, her current role and about the missing cards. The book is very suspenseful. There are a lot of admissions between Quinn and Ben concerning their feelings for each other and their hopes for the future. There is romance and angst, some twists that were a surprise. I give it 5 stars. I went back and got book 1 to read now too. I highly recommend this book.
Now that I’ve read Between Love and Honor I’m reminded of how enjoyable this author’s work is. This is my first romantic suspense from her but I have read small town and sport romances by her in the past so I probably shouldn’t have needed a reminder LOL but it was like 5 years ago and I read a lot.
Anywho, I loved this story. The suspense was on point and the romance vs suspense was evenly distributed within the story. They both weaved together to make a very captivating read. Ben and Quinn were great characters with excellent chemistry. The story itself is edgy and twisty (not dark) and it will keep you on your toes. I’m not sure if I read super fast or the story itself was so energetic it went by in a flash, but it was over before I knew it and I jumped back into the series with Recipe for Disaster!!
WOW! Between Love and Honor is another amazing romantic suspense by Tracy Solheim that kept me on my toes wondering who was good or trustworthy, who was evil and the reason behind the “list”. I loved, loved, loved Ben and Quinn’s love story in this third book of her Men of the Secret Service series. The title is fitting since Ben and Quinn will need to decide between their love for each other and/or the honor of serving their countries.
Ben Segar met Quinn Darby back in high school, where it didn’t take these two lab partners to discover the shared chemistry between them as well as the off charts electricity that could light their favorite lighthouse. When Quinn and her family disappear the night before their Prom, Ben was broadsided; hurt beyond reason. Eventually, he chalked it up to Quinn being the one who got away. Ben, like his buddies, is also a member of the Secret Service force, except as a cyber expert. Being a nerd has its benefits, especially when the beautiful plus one on the arm of an uninvited guest is a blast from the past; his missing prom date. Photographer Quinn Darby was born to play the part of a spy; following in her mother’s footsteps. When her life is endangered, she turns to the Ben; the only person she knows she can trust. Given a second chance at love Quinn believes she must keep her double life a secret; not because to deceive Ben but to protect him. However, Ben has his own secrets that he is unwilling to share with Quinn or his friends. As the danger intensifies Quinn and Ben find themselves in a cat-and-mouse game with the enemy – as well as with each other. As the case becomes more dangerous, the heat, which still exists between them, also builds, setting fires within them. Ben and Quinn will need to decide if leading a double life is worth rejecting the love they share and the possibility of a future together.
Ms. Solheim wrote a wonderful, sexy and suspenseful story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Ben and Quinn a chance for a future together; with or without having a double life. I highly recommend Between Love and Honor to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I enjoyed this espionage romance, with the addition of the two previous couples the circle of friends has widened and the fun banter increased.
Ben Segar was such a sweetheart and yes he might be a computer geek but he has his own alpha elements too. I thoroughly enjoyed his character in the story; so super intelligent, so hunky and so sexy. Quinn Darby was equally as great a character. Okay. I will fess up, it annoyed me a teeny tiny bit that she kept slipping away. 😆 However, I understood her need to and it was imperative to the story. Together they made one fantastic couple with explosive chemistry.
The ‘JamesBond’ references are fun too, especially seeing as so much of the story was set up with similarities like the advanced technology and gadgetry used.
Some good twists in the story to hold you interest and with a hefty dose of action and drama the story is extremely entertaining and enjoyable.
I’ve been waiting for Ben’s story throughout this series, and Between Love and Honor delivered on all my wishes and so much more. This review is going to be brief for there really isn’t much that I feel can safely be shared without giving away spoilers, so most of what you really need to know can be found in the cover description.
Still, that doesn’t really capture the sparks that fly between Quinn and Ben on so many levels. Yes, they are keeping secrets from each other – mostly to protect the other, but some because of their specific careers. Watching them navigate the danger surrounding them, following leads all the while trying to deny the attraction that is burning between them was a fascinating journey full of banter, sizzle, danger, and a very satisfying conclusion. Along the way there are twists and turns, some things I never saw coming – and that is exactly how I like my Romantic Suspense stories.
You “could” read Between Love and Honor on its own, but you’ll get far more if you’ve followed the series or intend to go back to the beginning because all the stories in the Men of the Secret Service series are so well worth your time. I had a blast with Ben and Quinn – I’d definitely recommend this story and entire series to any reader who loves a good Romantic Suspense novel.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Tule Publishing. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
It’s finally Ben’s turn to find his someone! I just wasn’t expecting his someone to be the girl that stood him up for Senior Prom. Or to find out that he’d been searching for her since then. Quinn Darby is full of secrets, but the one truth she can admit to is how important he is to her and that she would do anything to prevent him getting hurt, again. Everyone thinks that Ben Segar is just a computer nerd, but he has secrets of his own. When their jobs put them on a collision course, Ben and Quinn are reunited and forced to work together. There is more at stake than meets the eye, but can the two of them open up and trust each other with their secrets and find a second chance? I love Ben and Quinn! There was so much depth to the characters and the action started on the first page, twisting and turning until the satisfying conclusion. I loved revisiting the characters from the first two novels in the Men of the Secret Service Series, but it can be read as a stand-alone novel. BETWEEN LOVE AND HONOR by Tracy Solheim was a novel that I did not want to put down. It was the perfect escape. The only downside I can see is that the series appears to be over. Thanks to the publisher for an advanced copy of this novel. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. #BetweenLoveandHonor #MenoftheSecretService #TulePublishing #ReadzTule
Like the other two books in this series, this one is a must read.
This is Ben's story. We met Ben in "Recipe for Disaster" and he made a memorable impression. Ben is an agent in the Secret Service. He has a special talent with computers and is known to be a straight arrow. Well that is until he has a chance to work with his old prom date who ran away from him.
Quinn Darby is a photographer and uses her skills as a cover for her work as a spy. But when she runs into trouble, she goes looking for the one man she knows she can trust her life with - Ben. But the man Ben has grown into is not the same Ben she remembers from high school.
Ms. Solheim always writes well developed, multi layer characters who have issues that need to be resolved from previous encounters. But that is always the set up for any novel. It is a special talent that is able to take and engage you and make you stay up way too late to finish the story. You want to see the end but you also want to savor the story. Don't worry, you can sit back and read it again after you finish it the first time.
This is sadly the final book in the Men of the Secret Service series but it can be read as a stand alone. Maybe we will see Women of the Secret Service from Ms. Solheim in the future...
I did receive a copy of this novel in advance from the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.
Tracy Solheim is a new to be author, and my book life has been all the lesser for it! Between Love and Honor had everything which makes me so happy, and now I will be devouring all her previous books this weekend! Ben & Quinn knew each other in High School, with Ben having a big thing for her, but she broke his heart. Fast forward 13 years later, Ben is now part of the Secret Service and Homeland Security as the cyber security expert, and goes by the book. That all ends when Quinn comes back in his life, since she needs his help, but he's not doing it out of the good of his heart, because he decides this is best time to even the score, so off we go on a crazy journey. See, photographer Quinn is living a double life with spy being the secret kicker, and the biggest rule is to have no one, so big complications getting in the way, since they have that type of chemistry that won't be denied. Obviously, there's big time danger coming, making for twists that were all turned up, and turns twisted into a big ball of complications, so it was a heart pounding ride that head me dropping f-bomb after f-bomb. And now, y'all NEED this book in your lives, so hit those one click buttons, as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Between Love and Honor is the third book in the Men of the Secret Service by Tracy Solheim. It is so true but still so surprising how our past drives our present situation. That is the concept that Ms. Solheim explores with Special Agent Ben Segar. It is also astonishing how Quinn Darby had to keep readjusting her view of Ben.
This is the best book I have read written by Tracy Solheim. The characters are so complex with so many secrets, that are revealed layer by layer. Then there are twists you don’t see coming with danger, suspense romance and yeah, more suspense. Just a page turner from beginning to the surprising conclusion. Two thumbs up for this thrilling romance.
While it is complete within itself especially for Ben and Quinn. I think reading the past books would enhance the reader’s view of Ben considering his co-workers. However, there is not confusion or feelings of having missed something if you haven’t read the previous two books.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Secrets, lies, romance and suspense made this a hard book to put down.
When Secret Service agent Ben Segar is reunited with the girl who broke his heart in high school, Quinn Darby, he had no idea she was now a British Intelligence agent and they were both looking for the same thing, a micro card containing a list of agents who worked for the Phoenix, a legendary spymaster.
Ben and Quinn end up working together, but there is still a lot of mistrust and unresolved feelings between them making their job a little more challenging. It was fun to see them work together against the bad guys, but it was also fun seeing how they learned to love and trust again.
The author did a great job creating characters that I wanted to know more about and an entertaining story that had a lot of twists and turns making it hard to figure out how it would end. I like unpredictability in this genre and this book didn’t disappoint. Even though it is part of a series, I feel it can be read as a stand-alone.
Between Love and Honour, third in Tracy Solheim’s Men of the Secret Service series, is slick and engrossing from the start. With secret service agents aplenty, there’s plenty of intrigue, lives in danger and mysteries to be solved and agent Ben Segar is exceptionally good at this. With his brilliant mind, and his ability to surf the dark web it’s clear he’s an asset any government would be proud to have but he’s got plenty more going for him both in looks and in physical skills. Quinn Darby, the girl who disappeared on Ben on the night of their Prom, is back in his life as an alluring and sexy woman on the arm of the wrong man. She’s absolutely kick-ass as a heroine, coolly performing her job with hardly a hair out of place but she’s got a soft spot where Ben is concerned. The sparks between these two are pretty much off the charts from their first encounter, though Quinn is not an easy woman to catch and keep. The story moved fast, which is entirely appropriate for these two. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it all unfold.
Between Love and Honor is my first book by Tracy Solheim and I was enthralled! I'll definitely go back and catch up on the Men of the Secret Service series!
Ben might've been a mild-mannered, geeky guy growing up but now his brain isn't the only thing making a name for itself. He's now a hotshot cyber security expert for the freaking President of the United States! Devastated by an encounter from his past, Ben is shocked when that same girl turned incredible woman pops up in the White House beside a notorious person of interest in a new case. When Quinn's life becomes more and more dangerous, Ben must decide if breaking her heart like she did his is worth losing her all over again.
Between Love and Honor was a fantastic book chock full of suspense, intrigue, humor and loads of sex appeal! Author does an amazing job of crafting characters the reader truly cares about and roots for over and over throughout! I cannot wait to go back and catch up on this series! Definitely a new favorite author for my list!

This is Ben and Quinn's story they first met when they where at school in fact they where lab partners maybe that is where the chemistry began because believe me these two have chemistry but they also have a lot of secrets Quinn needs help and the only person she trusts is her old friend Ben but he isn't the fun guy she remembered no now he is all alpha secret service and enough to melt your socks off Can he help her can she let her guard enough for him to help her and will they finally get the future together they deserve You will have to read to see
Old friends from high school until she disappeared on Prom night. Thirteen years later he spots her and she is dropped into his life again. Both Ben and Quinn are hiding their true selves from friends and coworkers. Being forced to work together to retrieve an important list and program, gives them time to uncover each other’s past and secrets. Tracy builds up the suspense and tension between the two main characters as they fight to get back the missing items. Tracy does an amazing job of making you pull for Ben and Quinn to get back the life they wanted years ago but not without going through some challenging times. I would highly recommend this book.
If you love a good spy story along with a second chance romance and add in a lot of intrigue this is the story for you!!!! Loved this book. Ben, the genius with a big broken heart sees her again and wow the action begins. This book is not only HOT, it’s full of action and intrigue that keeps you glued till the end. I absolutely loved this story and an extra bonus is I live (and have worked) in the Washington DC area and I loved all the references to the DC area, it’s fun to read a book that visits places you too visit, love it. This is a great book, love Ben and Quinn too!!!!
A fantastic romantic suspense that will keep you turning the pages way late into the night. A second chance romance between Ben and Quinn that started in high school. The chemistry ( they were lab partners) that they shared then and now, is hot off the pages. Love the banter that they share. The descriptive writing by Ms. Solheim, makes you think you are right there. Plenty of suspense, intrigue and mystery, makes for the perfect read.
This is the third book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend this book along with the series.
Finally! I’ve been waiting to read Ben’s story and Tracy Solheim hit this one out of the park! Ben and Quinn have a past and their future seems bleak. Lots of secrets to unpack and I couldn’t get through this book fast enough! Fast and furious twists and turns, and you won’t believe the final resolution.
I went back and reread books one and two, before taking the time to savor this book. It’s really well-plotted and sizzles from start to finish.
Wow. Every book in this series are masterpieces with exquisite detailing that makes the world of difference in such action packed books. I'm sitting here bleary eyed but grinning as I was so engrossed in this book I lost track of time and didn't stop reading until I crashed out. Think this was my favourite of the three but I love them all. Hope this wasn't the end of the series as I'm not ready to say goodbye.
