Pure Christmas magic! This has been my favorite festive read so far this year and that's saying something because I have read over a dozen Christmas books already (yes I'm a bit obsessed). Lizzie Shane whisked me away to the lovely small town of Pine Hollow with her enchanting storytelling. Ally has escaped to Pine Hollow from her high pressure job just to find out that the family dog rescue is losing city funding. This leads her to confronting moody city councilman been, who appears less then e ...more

Such a warm and fuzzy read. In The Twelve Dogs of Christmas, Ally Gilmore travels to Pine Hollow, Vermont to help her grandparents operate their dog rescue shelter. There, she meets Ben West, a crusty town council member. Sparks fly when Ally accidentally bumps into Ben causing his new cup of coffee to get splashed all over the front of his dress shirt. A rough start as accusations are thrown between Ben and Ally, with more insult to injury as the shelter is at risk of losing funding from the to ...more

Very rarely do I finish a book in a day, but once I got into The Twelve Dogs of Christmas, I couldn't stop thinking about it and instantly knew this was a book I would read, read, read until I had it finished!
This is the romance between Ally and Ben. Ally has returned to small town Pine Hollow from New York City to assist her Grandparents with their animal rescue shelter and shortly after arriving, she learns that the town council is cancelling the shelter's funding to use that money toward the

Warm, adorable, and cosy!

The Twelve Dogs of Christmas is a tenderhearted, amusing rom-com that transports you to the small town of Pine Hollow, VT and introduces you to the overworked, broody Ben who is struggling to juggle a council position and the guardianship of his ten-year-old niece, and the kind, spunky photographer, Ally who will do whatever it takes to help her grandparents save their dog shelter and find homes for all the four-legged residents in need of a permanent family.

Saving puppies for Christmas? You cannot go wrong. This is my favorite holiday read of the year so far, and I will be raving about it even after we ring in the new year.

Obsessed. Pine Hollow, I’m moving in ASAP. This town is the exact way I imagine small town stories, and it was painted so beautifully by Lizzie Shane. the landscape, the people, the community, the joy of Christmas, this is what my romance dreams are made of and this is what Lizzie Shane has brought to life.

The Twelve Dogs of Christmas is a total hallmark movie! If they haven't optioned this yet, they are missing out! City girl uprooted to small town? Check! Town grump trying to raise his niece? Check!

Dog lovers will delight in the plot for sure. Ally and Ben are trying to find homes for 12 dogs. I LOVED that the author put a positive spin on pit bulls. The dogs are some of the sweetest but they get such a bad rap in the mainstream media. Adding to the delight of the dogs is the endearing townspeop

I have honestly got such a big grin on my face right now.

The Twelve Dogs of Christmas is a holiday book about the local dog shelter which has been forced to close down. Ally, the granddaughter of the owners, is helping out over the holidays and is now tasked with finding homes for twelve dogs. Luckily, help is on hand in the form of the town Scrooge, Ben, who was the deciding vote on the closure. But Ben has his own problems with raising his niece alone, and when Ally starts to fall for the Scr

I feel like I waited all year for this story and I didn't even realize I was waiting for it. I loved this book so much! This story filled my heart and made me laugh and cry. I was immediately pulled in and loved how everything unfolded. There was an excellent build as Ally and Ben came together and I was caught up in the wonderful dialogue and amazing moments. And the dogs! Oh my, the dogs! They were the sweetest!

This story was so delightful! I loved it so much! The small town setting, the romance, the dogs! It was a fantastic holiday romance and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I loved the romance in this. While the novel uses a common 'trope' with holiday romances (one character is Christmas Cheer and the other is the Grinch), it worked so well in this story. There is really is some good reasons why Ben is struggling so much with the holidays.

Also, as I mentioned, the d

The Twelve Dogs of Christmas was a fantastic Christmas romance full of adorable pups who simply stole the spotlight.

Ally Gilmore had every intention of relaxing over the holidays at her grandparents' home in Pine Hollow. That is until the town council pulls its' funding for her family's rescue shelter leaving Ally only four weeks to finds homes for a dozen dogs. But when Ally confronts the man responsible, she finds he's not the Grinch she expected him to be. And as Ally spends time with Ben whi

I try very hard to not pick a book by its cover or title. That can get you into trouble big time. So often good books have bad covers and bad books, have good ones. But every once in awhile a cover or title draws you in and you have no choice. That's what happened with this book. I just loved the title so much I had to try it.

Plus, I'm always looking for new to me authors so it was a win-win situation.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever Pub for the e-arc of this book.

The Twelve Dogs of Christmas by Lizzy Shane is everything I want from a Christmas romance. The story itself is loosely based on of This is a Wonderful Life. In the book Ally moves in with her grandparents to help them with their dog rescue/shelter. Ben is a local city councilman who votes to cut city funding to the shelter. Ben agrees to help Ally find homes for the remaining shelter dogs with The Twelve Dog of Christmas campaign..

This was such a cute Christmas story! Felt like watching a Hallmark movie. Very much G rated but that works for me since I don't really want to read a lot of romance. A light hearted story about a young woman, Ally Gilmore, returning to her hometown to stay with her grandparents around the holidays. They run a dog only shelter (which I thought was weird, where are the cats?) and the shelter is going to l

The book blurb will tell you about the story and I won’t redo that in this review. What I WILL do is tell you what I liked about this book: To me, The Twelve Dogs of Christmas starts out with two people who are lost…in heart and spirit. Ally Gilmore comes “home” to her grandparents’ place in Pine Hollow – wondering if her life in New York City may be at an end. She loves her photography but she doesn’t have any roots there and it is starting to wear on her. She tries to use her time to get her h ...more

Dear Santa,

I've been a very good girl this year, so please can you make it so that I can live in Pine Hollow and adopt as many of those twelve dogs of Christmas as possible.

I promise to love and play with them, and give them loads of attention. I absolutely adore all of them , even Partridge with his drool, and Harry's escape artist tendencies are fabulous. And the little Papillon is adorable.

And the community in Pine Hollow just sounds so lovely, I have forgotten how much I enjoy reading boo

I got one word... PUPPIES!!!!! LOL! Ally and Ben have made my day. A suspected Grinch and a lover of dogs combine to make one of the sweetest holiday reads.

In the ultimate of meet-cutes, Ben, our "grinch", is left standing tall, dark, and scruffy with nothing left but a crushed cup of coffee. And Ally, well.. she's just doing her best to keep up with her grandparents and a shelter that is filled with rambunctious pups and a need for funding.

Author Lizzie Shane has done a fabulous job of puttin

The Twelve Dogs of Christmas by Lizzie Shane is the perfect holiday cozy romance. It has a small town setting of Pine Hollow, charming characters, such as Deenie & Astrid who were my favourite, sweet heart-melting moments between protagonists Ally & Ben, & dogs. Lots & lots of adorable dogs!

Not only were the dogs so cute to read about, but Shane’s writing was so good, she wrote about them in such a way that each dog’s own personality truly shone through. You won’t be able to not love the furry

Holiday romance at it’s best: small town, single dad, saving family from a Christmas disaster, dogs, a grinch-like hero!

But soon the mission to help run the seller becomes a rescue mission as the town pulls thier funding for other demands. Now she needs to find a way to keep the seller afloat and find homes

The Twelve Dogs of Christmas was a sweet holiday read. The heroine is visiting her grandparents and trying to help them save their dog shelter. The hero has a very busy life. He is the guardian of his niece and on the city council. He may have the label of Scrooge. I love a grumpy hero. This wasn’t a bad read on a cold day. It’s not a very spicy read. The couple just kiss a few times. I was still satisfied with the journey.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

This book just might be the most ADORABLE thing I've ever read 💕 Christmas + Dogs = A full heart. My heart is absolutely overflowing right now.

Astrid and her Uncle Ben have things all figured out. She wants a dog and won't be happy til she gets one. Uncle Ben is known for being the town Scrooge and he's very bah humbug about the idea.

Ally is in town, helping her grandparents run the animal shelter when they find out that the town has cut their funding and they have until December 31st to empty

Happy release day to The Twelve Dogs of Christmas! I loved this book so much. I just haven’t been super motivated to read this month, so much school reading and work has been wild, but this book snapped me out of that slump. If you love small town romance, so many dogs, a grumpy hero, town gossip, good friendship, and again... SO MANY DOGGOS... then you should pick it up.
