It's okay. I like the townsfolk and knitters hangouts, but Murderous Tangle was lacking in mystery department. There are many characters in this series and it's difficult to follow on audio. ...more

I don't know how she does it, but this author always manages to come up with just the perfect knitting situations to create the perfect cozy atmosphere in this series. I've really grown to love all these main characters, and yes, even though there are a lot of them, I don't get confused. I wasn't sure what to think about their new friend Tess at first, but she eventually fit in with the group.

I eventually guessed who the killer was, and that's another thing I've liked about this series in what

Mysteriously odd thefts, murder and intrigue are all central themes in this installment of the Seaside Knitters series. If you haven't read any of the series, I would highly recommend starting at the beginning to get the full enjoyment of the series and to get to know the characters so well that they will feel like old friends. However, it isn't absolutely necessary to enjoy this book as it is well written and stands on it's own very well, but you would be missing out on a lot of enjoyable stori ...more

Sally Goldenbaum delivers another delightful story of friendship, loyalty, humor with A Murderous Tangle. Sally Goldenbaum supplies a complete roster of the characters in her novel, which I find wonderful. The Seaside Knitters of Massachusetts provide warmth, love, and friendship in this tight knit community where the town presents many events to strengthen a sense of belonging. Sometimes I feel that the murder stands behind the actual emotional ties of the town. The novel does not dip into a gr ...more

Sally Goldenbaum continues to amaze me with her ingenious stories of friends and friendships that are so real it's hard to remember they are fictional characters.
This book introduces a new resident that may or may not have a mysterious past that Ms. Goldenbaum keeps you guessing about from the start.
Gabby is back and running circles around The Seaside Knitters Society, as usual. Little Abby also gets her two cents in as well.
I love how the entire town pitches in to "take care of their own". Th

A Murderous Tangle is filled with secrets and lies, creating a web of deceit that leaves Izzy, Nell, Cass and Birdie trying to untangle the mess.
Birdie's granddaughter Gabby is talking nonstop about her new teacher, Tess Bean. It seems Miss Bean has a way with young people and her save the earth beliefs are creating waves.
Not everyone is open to making the changes necessary to lead an eco friendly world, and when Tess is seen arguing with someone who becomes a murder victim, it's up to the group

A MURDEROUS TANGLE is my first step into Ms. Goldenbaum’s world – and I will definitely be grabbing the two earlier titles that I missed to get caught up. There are a lot of characters in this story, yet I never felt lost and, in fact, soon became very comfortable with this small town, as well as its unique and at times quirky residents.

I loved the way this story played out at a comfortable pace, with some deep thinking, some emotions, and a lot of logical conclusions

A new business has opened in Sea Harbor and the owner wants to close Gracie down and expand. When the man is found murdered, not only is Gracie a suspect, but so are many others, including Tess Bean, a newer resident and part time teacher at the school. But the ladies don’t believe Gracie or Tess are guilty and begin to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

As they go along they realize some members of their community aren’t who they thought they were, and others are struggling with issues of th

This is the fourteenth book in the seaside knitting series. Birdie and Nell are part of a knitting club. Tess Bean is an environmental activist and is trying to get people in town to like her ideas. Bobby Abbott who owns the Harbor Club is completely against Tess's ideas. When Bobby is found dead, Tess is an immediate suspect along with Birdie and Nell's friend Gracie. Birdie's granddaughter knows Tess is innocent so Birdie and Nell start investigating.

I thought the mystery was good. It had a ha

Would give this book 4.5/5 stars. Was quite an enchanting read with a number of mysteries to solve the that will keep you guessing. I also greatly enjoyed the complex characters and layered interpersonal interactions/conflict. This book can definitely be read within the context of the series as a whole or as a stand alone. It was the first book I have read by this author and I was quite impressed

This was too heavy handed for my liking. I liked the mystery. It wasn't the focus of the story, though. The story involves the environment, theft, murder, family, dementia, food, and knitting. There a few surprises, and I liked the one with a Seaside Knitter. ...more

A Murderous Tangle is the third book in the Seaside Knitters Mystery series.

This book introduces a new character Tess Bean. Tess in on the staff at the veterinary clinic and a part-time environmental science teacher. She has been able to get some of the students involved in cleaning up the shoreline and passing out literature to educate residents on how to save the environment.

When the body of the owner of the Harbor Club bar, Bobby Abbott, is found near his bar Izzy, Nell, Cass, and Birdie set

Let me start by saying I love this series and look forward to a new book. But this one had so many typographical errors and editing issues that it totally detracted from the story. I got this book from the library so it was not an advance copy. I cannot believe that so many sloppy mistakes got through a fnal edit - characters names being mixed up - last and first - so that it was hard to tell who the writer was talking about. Also sentences that were so poorly structured that even after reading ...more

FYI: I won this book on goodreads.com.
Interesting title for a book that includes murder and knitting. Unfortunately, those are two things I know very little about. There were so many female characters with short names! I admit to the fact that I had a difficult time keeping them straight without looking back to their descriptions at the front of the book. That fact made the book much less enjoyable than it could have been. I never really got a hold of all those characters...

Cute, but my God, cozy mysteries are not my thing. I read this book to fulfill a book challenge, but I won't be challenging myself with this genre again any time soon. This type of book is the Hallmark Channel of books. It was just so cheesy and contrived. Who in the world says "geesh!" all the time? Maybe it's a northern thing 😂 I know some people LOVE their Hallmark movies... it's just not for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ ...more

I love this series, but this one just didn't hold my interest. I found myself putting it down way more often than I usually do with books in this series. In the end, it was an okay book, and I, as always, look forward to more.

Birdie, Nell, Cassie, and Izzy are planning a holiday event for the approaching Christmas holiday, for all their family and friends. This is a small Massachusetts seaside town, and there's a sense that everybody knows everybody, though that's not always true.

Tess Bean is a fairly new arrival in town, working at two rather different part-time jobs. One of them is at the Seaside Harbor school, teaching science to the young students. She's lively and interesting, an environmental activist, and is v

This is the 3rd in this beloved series and I have loved the entire series. I love returning to vibrant picturesque Sea Harbor home of the Seaside Knitters club and all the wonderful charcters. The author has created a charming series that offers a well crafted sleuth and endearing charcters that we cozy readers adore. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. Spoiler alert. Plus some edits in the first set of comments. 1/17/20 Originally, when the synopsis said that a popular bar owner would be killed off, I was thinking it was going to be Jake. I'm not rating this yet since I haven't finished the book, but wanted to write down my thoughts as I went along. First of all, I missed that Willow isn't in this book. I would like to see Rose Chapra return in the future. Tess Bean is a fascinating character. It's good that Gabby and Daisy and the other kids ...more

The Seaside Knitters, Birdie, Nell, Cass, and Izzy, love their town of Sea Harbor, Massachusetts. Their knitting group is hosting a Danish-inspired event for the holidays. The event is overshadowed by the death of club owner Bobby Abbot. At first, it seems he fell off the deck of his club, but evidence soon shows that his death was most likely murder.

Unlike other cozy mysteries that I’ve read, there isn’t one person who goes around hunting for clues. The ladies, Birdie, Nell, Cass, an

This is a lovely hug of a book. Admittedly it has a murder at its centre but its heart is all about family, friendship and being there for people.

Birdie, Nell, Cass, and Izzy, are looking forward to the festivities of Christmas when a body is found near one of their favourite restaurants, owned by Gracie, another member of their small group of friends.

The murder is only one thread in this book although the others all, in some way, lead to or from it. The relationships between the main character

I came to this series late and have been enjoying playing catch up. As soon as I met the wonderful characters in this series, I knew I had found another author to follow - if she writes it, I will read it and enjoy it.

Welcome once again to Sea Harbor, home of the Seaside Knitters, and the 14th mystery in the series.
