Warrior Saints - Creator is the first installment in author Carla Thorne's Stonehaven Academy Saints series. Mary Hunter, Deacon, Russell "Scout" White & Ivy Van Camp are products of misfortune and victims of adversary. Each comes from a broken background and possesses unique abilities. When the four unite, their abilities are enhanced and are often times referred to guardian angels. Even though the story focuses on (4

Warrior Saints Creator is what every other Christian YA book wishes it were. Gripping story and characters. Spiritual but not preachy. Think Narnia, where the spirituality is built into the story, so it doesn’t have to be preachy. The characters remain true to themselves and don’t function as a mouthpiece for the author. Carla Thorne knows how to tell a story. Can’t recommend this book highly enough.

Truly a must read.

First thing, I want to get the stars out of the way. Four stars for the hard to read point of view. I have read many multiple 1st person point of view stories and struggled with them. Even though the chapter heading starts with the character who is in 1st person I lose track of who that is and especially if I have to put the book down in the middle of a chapter. I rarely finish a story written this way. I did this one for a number of reasons I'll go into without spoilers.

Friendship climbs to a whole new level for four students at Stonehaven Academy. Mary, Deacon, Russell (Scout), and Ivy each comes from a broken background and possesses unique abilities. When the four unite, their abilities are enhanced.
This is the first book in a series that looks to be an exciting and fast-paced story of gifted humans in spiritual warfare with demonic enemies. The characters are relatable and believable, the plot line interesting.

My only negative would be the first-person pe

Yes! I am dying to know what happens next. Loved how real and relatable the characters are and how Carla channeled all the angst of high school into the scenes.

Mary and the Warrior Saints each have their own powers granted by the Creator, but they don't know that. The story is an exciting ride as they learn they are better and stronger together. There are forces of evil in their world and they keep finding themselves in a place to make it right. The chemistry between Mary, Deacon, Scout, and Ivy is so well done. Can't wait to read the rest of their story. ...more

I was not expecting my heart strings to be pulled like this! Talk about a dive into Feels City. So many aspects to pick apart and marinate in later, but first...I need to get book two and see if that holds up as amazingly as this did.
