I have to say that Bear Was There was a really cute book. I loved how the authors included different feelings throughout the book about being loved, happy, and scarred. Absolutely a favourite for both Ada and myself. We loved that everyone is always afraid of Bear, but little Mouse showed that sometimes people/animals aren’t always what you are told they are. Sometimes, you need to give them a chance yourself because they might be just as scared and along, and will provide a friendship you never thought possible. It is a beautiful story and has illustrations to match.

Such a poignant book at this moment in our history. Yes, our parents may have bias but we do not have to adhere to them. Just because you are told someone is scary, it is up to you to din out. I enjoyed the message in this book.

Beautiful illustrations; would have been 5 star id there had been an explanation that although some bears eat mice, many do not.
