This is a cozy mystery, and this is the 2.5 book in the Resale Boutique Mystery series. This is a short and quick read. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I feel there was a lot put into this short book. I wish there was more character development. By the end I did not really care about the characters. Overall I would say it was an ok cozy mystery. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Lyrical Press) or author (Debra Sennefelder) via NetGalley in exchange for an hon ...more

This was a quick read. I didn't know this was the third book in a series when I picked it up but I had no problem jumping into the story.

Kelly has inherited her grandmother's consignment shop and she has dreams of turning it into an upscale vintage boutique. An area socialite's dog has gone missing and there is a reward. That reward would go a long way to helping Kelly achieve her dreams with her shop. She goes to scout a graveyard as a possible photoshoot location and gets spooked by noises tha

Short, fun novella. Fun Halloween story. Lots of fun and a quick read!
Chatting About Cozies
I enjoyed the quick pace of this novella, and the nasty run-ins with a clown and a mobster are spooky and entertaining and lead to a smashing ending! Great story for All Hallow’s Eve!

Protagonist, Kelly Quinn inherited a consignment shop and a cat from her Granny Rose. Eager to promote her business, Kelly talks her best friend, Liz, into agreeing to do a photo shoot in a cemetery—of all places! Luck has Kelly’s back, however; when she finds a missing ShihTzu named Billy, and returns him to his we

Mysteries abound in What not to Wear to a Graveyard. A pampered pooch is missing and later shows up in a spooky cemetery. The wealthy owner is found stabbed to death in a farmhouse and a missing, mysterious tell-all manuscript threatens to expose people who’d rather remain in the shadows. Throw in a dash of Halloween fun and a handful of beautiful autumn descriptions and you’ve got a wonderful cozy by Debra Sennefelder that will keep you turning the pages!

What do vintage/recycled fashion, a graveyard, a missing dog and a dead body all have in common? Kelly Quinn of course! I am absolutely loving this series! Kelly has come home from upscale fashion in Manhattan to take over her grandmother's consignment shop that she has inherited and has plans to modernize it to turn it into the go to boutique for upscale and vintage fashion that is affordable to more people. She is doing a bang up job, except for one small detail....she keeps falling over dead ...more

This novella is the third book in the Resale Boutique Mystery series and I was delighted to once again be taken on an adventure along with Kelly Quinn. The story is set around Halloween and Kelly Quinn is once again at the center of a murder investigation. Kelly is given a key to a farm that was bought by a developer to look through clothing and jewelry for her store. As she is leaving, arms full of finds, what she doesn't expect is to find the dead body of a woman in the kitchen. With that Kell ...more

After inheriting her g grandmother's consignment shop, Kelly Quinn it's doing her best to save the business and put he own strap on it. Culling some closets at an abandoned farmhouse, she finds a body in the kitchen. Breezy and a quick read. However if you haven't read another in the series, you might not connect well with the characters. Sometimes that's an issue in a novella, either the character development or the mystery isn't fully sketched out. I'll be back to read the next in the series. ...more

A quick and easy to read novella-sized cozy mystery. It's interesting and fast-paced, and you don't lose any of the story by it being less than 100 pages.
The characters are great and the mystery kept me guessing.

This is book 2 in the series, but I feel it stands-alone with no problem. I truly enjoyed it.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.

This was a fun and very short cozy mystery, number 2.5 in the Resale Boutique mystery series. The main character, Kelly, has moved from NYC after she inherits her grandmother’s consignment shop. Unfortunately she finds a corpse and starts to ask questions. Kelly needs to find the killer before she can become his next victim.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

What Not to Wear to a Graveyard is a novella and the third book in the Resale Boutique Mysteries by Debra Sennefelder. I greatly enjoyed the other two in the series, Murder Wears a Little Black Dress and Silenced in Sequins, so I was happy to see book three coming out… and even more excited because it’s a Halloween cozy, and I love me some Halloween.

I enjoyed the cozy in novella form. While I love reading cozy mysteries my two complaints are love triangles that keep going on and when the sleuth

‘What Not to Wear to a Graveyard‘ is a novella in the ‘Resale Boutique Mystery‘ series. I haven’t read the previous stories (although they are now on my TBR list of stories to read) and I wasn’t the least bit lost since anything I needed to know was found in the narrative or the dialogue.

When Kelly finds the lost dog who has a handsome reward offered for finding and returning the pooch, she’s convinced that her money problems concerning the renovated shop will be solv

A short but satisfying mystery. Things were going well and Kelly thought she couldn't imagine how her day could get any better. She soon finds out that not only was Colonial Cemetery where her luck turned around for the better it was also going to do just the opposite.

The author did a good job of fitting all the basics of a cozy mystery into a novella and put us in the mood for Halloween. Also, I liked the characters and hope to see them in a longer book so I can get to know them even better. T

This is number three in the Resale Boutique Mystery series but I have read it as stand-alone as it encapsulated the mystery and wrapped it up nicely,

With a title like "What Not to Wear In A Graveyard," I knew that it had to be fun! It was a quick read and it was attention grabbing. Kelly was doing her thing and working at her store.

When I first requested this book from NetGalley, there was little information out there on this, so I was assuming that it was a full-length novel. When I started reading it, it felt so weird and disjointed that I wondered what the heck was wrong. And then, when I went searching again, found out it is a novella [and while a lot of novella's aren't weird and disjointed, some are and this one was one of them] and even though it is supposed to be soon after the events in book 2, feels more like the ...more

Fashionista Kelly has moved back to the small town she grew up in to run her mother’s vintage clothing store after losing her high-powered New York job. Short on money, when she finds a lost dog with a reward of $5,000, she thinks it’s her lucky day. Until she discovers the dog’s owner stabbed to death.

For a cozy mystery, this isn’t much of a mystery. The guilty party is pretty much the most obvious suspect from the beginning, and though the author tries valiantly to throw in a few red herrings,

Kelly Quinn was a buyer for a store in New York City but was let go. Around that time her beloved grandmother passed away and left Kelly her consignment shop in Lucky Cove. While visiting the local cemetery in preparation for a fashion shoot there she finds a little dog. She heard about a lost dog and a sizable reward for finding the dog so she hur ...more

I didn't realize this was a novella so I was surprised at how quickly I read it and how quickly the murder was resolved. I think for the price of a novella this would be a satisfying read to get you in the fall mood.

I have not read the previous books in this series but I felt this could be easily be read as a standalone.

What Not to Wear to a Graveyard , book 3 in the Resale Boutique Mystery series, is a humorous cozy murder mystery in novella form. One need not read the previous books to enjoy the characters or the plot of this one. I appreciated the inclusion of sweet pets, but was creeped out by one particular assailant ! Perfect for the coming October reads, and for the rainy afternoon I spent with this novella.

#What Not to Wear to a Graveyard. Kelly Quinn is starting over in Lucky Cove. In the first installment of this series she inherited her Grandmothers consignment shop. She is settling into her new business/home nicely. It is the Halloween season and she is looking forward to attending a long standing annual party with friends.

She accidently finds a lost dog with a large reward attached in the local cemetary. She returns the cute little guy to his home. His owner is not home however, so she turns

What Not To Wear To A Graveyard by Debra Sennefelder a five-star read that will put you on the right path. This is number three in the Resale Boutique Mystery series but I have read it as stand-alone as it encapsulated the mystery and wrapped it up nicely, just leaving me with questions that I am sure will be resolved in the next story, and I most definitely will be picking that up and likely the first two as well. Longer than a short story yet shorter than a novella this fun little read is perfect. There's the mystery of the missing dog, then the mystery of the murdered high profile woman, and then there's the mystery of who is terrorizing the boutique owner/sleuth. Good friends from the past are both helpful and daunting. A nice read!

What Not to Wear to a Graveyard by Debra Sennefelder sees Kelly struggling with her new business venture while finding a lost dog and a dead body on the same day.
Why was Constance Lane in an abandoned house? Also, why was her dog found so close to where Constance was killed?

3 stars-- WHAT NOT TO WEAR TO A GRAVEYARD by Debra Sennefelder is a contemporary, adult, cozy mystery novella in the author’s Resale Boutique series focusing on resale queen Kelly Quinn.

Told from third person perspective WHAT NOT TO WEAR TO A GRAVEYARD follows resale queen Kelly Quinn as she begins an investigation of her own into the recent murder of fashionista Constance Lane. This was just the perfect fill-in book for the Halloween season for Kelly and her friends. Planning a fashion shoot at the cemetery was just the tip of what got everything started in this mystery. Pepper would say it was just a bad idea to shoot there at all, lol. There was the cutest little Shih Tzu named Billy that I was so hoping Kelly could adopt when he ended up needing a home. Of course, Howard the cat wouldn't probably like that, but I could sure tell Kelly was in love with that little pu ...more

I think this story had a lot of promise but the flow of the writing was not consistant. Plus the plot was too easily wrapped up. There were two sections I thought were perfect for a suspense scene but things were strangely wrapped up and moved on from.

I can see now that this was a novella but I think the story really needed to be expanded on and made into a full blown book. The quick wrap up made it feel like the author hadn't edited the book and just wanted to move on to the next story. I tota
