Read for uni, honestly the worst textbook I've ever read. It's extremely repetitive and drawn out, aka a ton of filler and useless facts. Reading this I felt I was reading fiction rather than science. One thing that stood out in particular was the chapter covering the big five where he drops these dumb fact such as extroverts like folkmusic (sound like a horoscope tbh), not even trying to be nuanced just stating such things as absolute facts. It is extra annoying when he then states (in my eyes) controversial things that NEED more complex discussions but decides to be concise. For example in the same chapter, he names how friendliness and a nonconfrontational outlook can help protect from abuse, with zero further mention of exceptions or abuse in adulthood. I'm ranting but all in all, hated this book
