Bionic Passion

Rate this book
His greatest accomplishment was also his worst mistake.

Avery King, a brilliant scientist and Dirstrict M's most eligible bachelor, struggles with his greatest accomplishment and worst mistake--the creation of the bionic humanoids.  Although the bionics have made him the richest man in District M, they have changed life for humankind drastically. The rich are richer and the poor are poorer, making the average human life dismal.  Everything changes when Avery meets Amelia, a bionic humanoid with a strange birthmark and human-like emotions.   He just cannot leave her to a life as a common robot sex worker, and will stop at nothing to save her.  See what readers already have to say about this series!

"This is more than just a romance. It touches on social and political biases – and the excuses we use to continue them. If you like a great love story, a little bit of action, and a thought-provoking read – this is for you!"

This is a six-part interlocking series following the love stories of inidividuals as they navigate a near future world where humans and robots come together and sometimes clash.   This book has strong language and sexual situations 18+ is advised.

I think this would make a great sci-fi movie. Avery and Amelia could be a sort of futuristic Romeo and Juliet. He loves her against what his friends say and she loves him despite what she is. The story moved quickly and I couldn't put it down until I was finished.

LOVED THE CONCEPT! BUT I WISHED THE ENDING WAS MORE DETAILED! SERIOUSLY!! WHERE WAS THE WATERWORKS AND TOUCHY FEELY SHIT? IT ENDED TOO SOON.

A.I has always been an interest of mine, and I'm sure I'm not alone especially when it comes to taboo romance between a robot and a human. This one was no different, in a good way of course.

AMELIA is a Bionic robot, she's supposed to be just a sexual tool for the humans except something has changed within her. Biology works in mysterious ways and sadly while we don't get a clear explanation on how it happened, Amelia's no longer just a robot because she can feel, cry and long for things even having children. Aemlia's amazing, in the sense that she may be articulate but she holds a childlike innocence that draws people to her - especially the lonely Avery King.

AVERY used to be part of the bionics industry, he was the scientist who made it all happen until one day he decided to quit and pull out, leaving his best friend to run the business and become filthy rich. Avery's also lonely and merely wandering like a lost soul, living with an old woman and taking care of his sister from time to time. When one trip to meet Steven, his friend leads him to finding Amelia, his life will change as he risks plenty just to break the robot out and have their time together. Don't think it can get anymore romantic than that.

OVERALL this concept was intriguing and I seriously wished the ending was more detailed and better. When Avery got hurt that Amelia chose to return to the BFR and believed she didn't love him, it was a little anticlimactic when she returned to him after enduring the processing (being taken apart and put together again) just to be with him at the end. More explanations about the fictional industry would have been great.

I loved this story, it is really a novella, that raises the question of what defines being human. The blurb sets the scene. In a near future the bionic humanoids have taken over the low skilled work pushing the humans into poverty. The gap between rich and poor is a festering sore. This story is a fast paced easy read, with explicit sexual content and a HEA although part of a larger story arc.

Spoiler alert!
Are bionic humanoid creations capable of human self awareness and emotion? This is explored in the love story between Avery, the creator of bionic humanoids, and Amelia a bionic sex worker whom Avery encounters. Amelia and Avery both independantly notice an unexplained mole on her buttock. Amelia discovers that she has feelings and Avery, to his initial bewilderment, develops strong feelings for Amelia. Also Amelia is able to retain specific desired happy memories, despite the reset button used by her owner, a reset that is supposed to wipe her mind clean. Are the bionic humanoids evolving? A thought provoking story.

Avery King is a brilliant scientist and famous for creating bionic humanoids. Avery however isn’t sure it was such a good idea to create them. The world has drastically changed because of them. People are out of work and others believe the bionics are more than just slaves for humans. When Avery meets Amelia, a bionic humanoid that is different from the others, he doesn’t understand his feelings for her. What will happen when he takes her from her job as a sex worker and decides to show the world how special bionics are? Fast-paced read with lots of drama, suspense and steamy chemistry. The story has amazing characters and is action packed from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more about this futuristic world in the next book. I really liked it!

★ Intriguing new world of bionics ★

—>>> Step into the intriguing new world of bionics and right into Avery King’s shoes as he falls right back into the world he has been stringently avoiding after inventing these bionic humanoids and then launching them into the world. A simple request from his estranged sister lands him in the uncharted land of emotions for him, because that is what he comes away with from his unexpected encounter with Amelia, a pleasure robot, whose personality tugs at his heart. Great start to this series, and I am looking forward to reading more stories from this new-to-me author in the future!

I thought this was a good book. It’s intriguing, interesting and definitely could become real. Bionic humanoids work in a brothel is one way to get them working and making a lot of money. Whether you like it or not he became very wealthy. I liked most of the characters although his (Avery) old best friends I couldn’t believe them. Money does a lot of things…good n bad.

I received this as an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Okay but not great

I was hopeful for a good story but this was too formulaic and very predictable. It was simplistic and boring really..
