Mora Ellis is an claustrophobic executive assistant, she loses her cool one day at a seeming important meeting with highly sot after entertainment company, Lynwood. Later that same company's boss, Darius, find her out with her friends and invites her to have breakfast the next day. There he reveals her wants her, as his personal assistant, and is willing to pay much more than she makes at her current job. The only catch, she has to decide than and there if she is willing to accept the offer. Two weeks later at the end of her resignation period, Mora moves in with Darius as apart of her work contract. Luckily all her belongings fit in a couple bags, but the biggest most precious thing she owns is her cello. As much as Mora tries to keep her personal life from intertwining, it becomes inescapable, yet somehow she is still able to keep who her actual father is a secret. Darius has his own secrets, such as being a member of a highly secret millionaire society. One night things mount between the two and things are said, Mora quits than and there planning on moving out the next morning. The two reconciled and become a couple, with a very fast engagement. As the wedding approaches Mora still has not informed her father who her "boyfriend" is, and is scared he will not approve. She develops a plan to have her father meet Darius at the wedding, however her father is unable to make it in time. What happens when her father finally arrives at the wedding, breaks her heart and her plans. Mora is forced to come to terms of the unfortunate events that happen afterwards. But Mora believes in Darius and her, and she will never give up on true love. Especially for her unborn child, the product of their love, the only proof she had that it ever existed. But will Darius give up everything for her and their family or will she take action to protect herself and child.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. It was a very moving and intense journey of secrets and love. There was no slow pace chapters, but instead had many twists and turns leaving you yearning for what was next. With roller coasters of emotional outbursts and the ability to never put the book down. It was incredibly well written and it all moved along smoothly capitulating.

I highly enjoyed reading this boxed set in one sitting, as I could not put it down. This amazing young woman was in for the journey of her life and grew to become an amazing woman through her past and present emotional pain and trauma. She never let anyone control her, she decided her own fate, especially towards the end of the series. She would be definitely a woman figure I will be putting on my list of inspirational fiction characters.

I had nothing to dislike while reading this book. Everything was just so well blended and put together that if there was anything to dislike I was not paying attention. I became focused on the story and falling in love with all the characters.

I recommend this as an adult semi-exotic book as there is sexual content. There could also potentially be some triggers for those who have suffered from abuse.

I received this box set from Exclusive ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Mora never had a easy childhood. She had a mother who never wanted her, a father and brother who wanted her but were only to love from a distance, and a nana who adored her. Her life would change when she received a scholarship to Cambridge and a plane ticket to England and her father.

Whole getting to know her brother and father one night at a Halloween ball would she found the man of her dreams. He would also been the one who stole her virginity and her heart. Plus, he would be the man that she couldn't have until he realized what she worth to him.

Darius never had it easy. He worked his way up in the world. Had his friends as co workers, and belonged to an elite brotherhood. Until one night a woman stole his heart. He would go to the ends of the earth to find her and make her his. Luckily it was easy as she walked into her office for a meeting.

Love would never be easy for them. It took her leaving for him to know who she was and what they meant to each other. Mora would begin to know the real Darius. But would it be enough for her to love him.

How far would they go for love? Would Darius realize Jacob was his son? Would Mora family and friends have to pick up the pieces if Darius broke her hear?

A must read!

Nice lengthy trilogy

When I finish a series I want to feel complete. The Black Mark Series definitely made me feel complete. While at some points I felt it skipped ahead too quickly, and at other times it dragged a little, this story was a wonderful read. From an abused childhood to a loving future with ups and downs. I always hate when reviews give too much away, and I really really try not to do that. This series was full of love and trials and new beginnings and old love, new friends, a new career and family staying by your side. Not to mention all the sex and promiscuity. This series will definitely keep you up late.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest opinions.

Having never read this author before, I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I have to say that I was quite impressed with the Black Mark Series. A well written, intriguing, dark and steamy romance story with some twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages to see how the story unfolds. I liked all of them. This series is a must read. I hope there is more to come.

She was horribly abused by her mother. She has a couple of healthy outlets and one very bad one. She needs someone who can help her badly. In comes her new boss who wants to help. But can he or will he make it worse. I recommend it. I was given a review copy by inkitt and voluntarily review it.

This is a voluntary and honest review for an advanced copy of the first part of the Black Mark Series - Resistance.

This is the first book i have read from this author so i was not sure what to expect, i can honestly say i was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this first part of the series, once i started i could not put the book down.

The main characters had a raw realness to them. Some of the subject matter is tough and the coping mechanisms for Mora are a hard read but the author has not gone into too much detail, just enough so that you get a clear picture of who she is. I loved her strength, her straight forwardness and the fact that she knows who she is. She is damaged but still has a kind heart, a no nonsense attitude.......Until Darius. Darius obviously has his own issues but you are not told about them in this first part of the series. He likes to be in control but has found his match in Mora and does not like the fact that he can't quite work her out.

I like the writing style of this author, it is smooth and to the point. No repetitiveness or inane filling-in. The interaction between all the characters is believable and easy to read. The friendships and family issues, both good and bad, feel real and believable.

This first part in the series does not end on a cliffhanger as such but you are left wanting more and you absolutely have to know what happens next.

I would definitely recommend this, even though i have only read the first part! As soon as i have posted this review i am going to get the rest of the series.

This is a voluntary and honest review for an advanced copy of;
Black Marks - Secret.

Well....... that was a read and a half!! To be completely honest, as I was reading this second book in this series, it was only going to be a three star rating but OH.....My.....Word..... what an ending.

The main characters are still as intense and the peripheral characters are wonderful. The beginning grabs you from the start, but the middle of the story, was for me, a bit dull, the sex was repetitive but I suppose it was all about the intensity of the build up......

The whole secret men's club, what they stood for and the rules grated on me. It boiled my blood making me angry just reading it. When she kissed him at the end and I thought......well.... let's just say I considered throwing my kindle.

This series is as annoying as it is great. The storyline is just something I can't understand, the question in my head was always asking..... "why would you?".......but I am hooked and I will be reading the next in the series. It just shows what a well written story can do.

I would recommend this series.

When I saw that Inkitt had Black Mark’s Resistance available for review, I downloaded it. I have reviewed a few of Ebony Olson’s books. They have always been a quick, nice read and I was expecting the same with this book. While it was a quick read, I wouldn’t classify it as nice. Did it have nice parts, sure, but the tone of the book was dark.

I couldn’t connect with Mora. Not that I didn’t like her, I did, but she was so damaged by her past that it made her almost unlikable at points in the book. She kinda rubbed me the wrong way from the get go. The way that she talked to Darius and Warren at the beginning of the book…yeah, she would have been fired on the spot.

Her sexual exploits were fantastic. She was open to everything and there wasn’t anything that she hadn’t done or tried. The sexual tension between her and Darius was almost overwhelming. At one point, I wanted to scream “Do it” all ready because the tension was that bad. Those scenes were my favorite for obvious reasons.

Darius was an enigma and I do wish that more was revealed about him sooner in the book. The fact that he had sex with couples was pretty interesting but nothing was really said about it after he told Mora. Also, I wish more information was given about his time as an escort. I also wish that he was more forthcoming with his attraction to Mora. The whole hands off approach kinda turned me off.

The end of the book was a bit strange. It ended suddenly and it ended on an angry note. Normally I would like it but the abrupt ending kind of threw me for a loop. I actually thought I missed something and went back. Saying that I am pretty excited about reading book 2. Nothing except the plotline with Mora’s mother got resolved. So I am expecting answers in book 2

My Summary of Black Mark’s Resistance: 3 stars

I actually liked Black Mark’s Resistance but I had to give it a 3 rating. The plotline was good and the sexual interactions between the characters were hot. I couldn’t connect with Mora and Darius creeped me out at times.

Will I reread: Yes

Will I recommend to family and friends: Yes

Age range: Adult

Why: Sex and language

I would like to thank Ebony Olson and Inkitt for allowing me to read and review Black Mark’s Resistance

All opinions stated in this review are mine

Do I want to read a series????
From page one you know Mora is a strong independent woman and you fall in love with her. She knows what she wants and how to get it. Very mature for her age and so strong and independent. Great character. Darius is a man of business and use to getting what he wants. This story flows extremely well. And just a great read! Didn’t know if I’d like it, but I love it. If you like strong characters, great sex with a fantastic story line you’ll love this series….

I'm so glad I'm reading this series!
As we begin book two, we start to learn more about Darius and his secrets. The heat turns up quite a bit from this point on; along with the emotion meter. Throughout this series I found myself laughing and crying. I love these characters. I could not stop reading. You will also get more background on our main characters and the huge life changing moments…..this book is a great ride with a lot of surprises. Have your tissues ready this story is wonderful!

Great Series!
Book three is such a roller coaster ride you need to hang on tight for this one! We start with Darius recap of the end of book two from his point of view then we move to present time. I really love this series. Such an easy read and moves quickly. Love It! I love Mora and how she handles herself. I believe in soul mates and going thru everything for them. It amazes me how strong she is.

Mora meets Darius. Love the tension between the main characters. Drama, anger and passion. Emotions. Will they give into their desires? Can not wait to find out in the next installment.

Issues from book 1 resolved. New drama ensues. Love realized and then a quick turn to more drama. Will love continue or is it broken forever by betrayal? Can't wait for the next book!

Excellent conclusion to the series. Love Ebony's characters! Love, drama, hatred and disappointment blend well together to create an emotional ride to the perfect happy ending. Hopefully some of the supporting characters will get a happy ending as I am not yet ready to leave this series!

This is such a different romance story. I loved it. The psychology, the back stories giving hints to each character development, the imperfect protagonist. I loved the chapter from Darius's point of view. It was a really different way for the writer to cover time and also allow the reader to see the impact everything had on him. Another great story by Ebony and it's nice to see her step away from the paranormal world to give us some straight up romance.

What a surprise!

It’s been a long time since I have binge read a book series. I loved this book. The characters were real and you really feel the growth throughout the series. Darius is the ultimate male, well hung, rich and he is head over heals for Mora. Good series, good read, highly recommend!
