I have been on a kick with wanting to read shifter stories. However, I want my shifters to only be with their mate. That was not the case with this story. He was not only married to someone else, but he also had a child with them. When he found out that she was a virgin, he said that is how it should be with mates. Apparently, that didn’t apply to him. That fact brought my rating down.

-no pushing away
-virgin h and he obviously was not since he had been married and has a child.
-older man/younger woman 52/18
-safe- neither with others after meeting
-no violence of a sexual nature
-good epilogues

I have been looking forward to this book and was over joyed when I saw that Austin was getting his own story but I have to admit to being a little underwhelmed, don’t get me wrong it was still a brilliant read.
Austin has been waiting for his mate for the past fifty two years but gave up hope of ever finding the one who was just for him and tried to settle in to another life where he was married and had a daughter, but things were never meant to be and he has been living alone ever since. That is until Ellie is reported missing and he catches her scent, from that moment on he is consumed with finding her she is the one meant for him and she is in danger there is nothing that he will not do to find and protect her. But will she accept an older man and shifter polar bear as her love or will she reject him?
Ellie is the daughter of a rich influential man but things have not been going well for him recently so when she is captured and kidnapped by Lion shifters she soon realises that this ransom could have been planned by him. Scared but hoping for someone to rescue her she is relieved when Austin rescues her and she seems to sense much to her shock that he will keep her safe. She finds herself wanting so much more than just to be rescued but an older man like him could never want a girl like her could he?
Insta everything read with a HEA. Definitely worth a read.

I think Austin is my favorite! Austin did not start out the series as a great guy, but that has all,changed. Austin is way OTT and so protective of Ellie. Great epilogues!

I understand we are all very busy with life and stuff and not everyone has the patience to read through all the sub-Genres of romance. It’s an easy read and has some very hot sex scenes. But be aware that it isn’t like a fully developed novel and that the characters can come across a bit flat at times.

I was so happy to see that this book would be about Austin. He is the father of the heroine of the very first book in the series, Bare for the Alpha. Town sheriff and polar bear shifter, he has been waiting for his mate for a long time and when he gets that first scent, the man is relentless in tracking down Ellie who has been kidnapped. Watching Austin plow through and decimate the ones holding her and then seeing him first lay eyes on her was great.
I enjoyed watching their relationship progress (at light speed, of course) and seeing all the characters from previous books again. Although this can technically be read as a stand alone, reading the prior books is helpful in not getting lost.
This may be my favorite of the series due to the low angst and absolute devotion of Austin. For anyone who has issues with the thought of shifters with anyone other than their mates, this book may be a pass as Austin was previously married to someone he knew was not his mate.
I enjoyed watching their relationship progress (at light speed, of course) and seeing all the characters from previous books again. Although this can technically be read as a stand alone, reading the prior books is helpful in not getting lost.

I have been waiting for Austin's story!!! Austin has been waiting for his mate for 52 years. Not thinking that he would ever find her, he tried to have a "normal" life with a wife and kid. That obviously didn't work for him, but he would never regret his daughter. The moment he smells Ellie's scent, he knows that she is his mate that he's been waiting for. Only problem.... she's been kidnapped. Nothing and no one will stop him from finding her and keeping her.

Awesome ~ I’ve been patiently waiting for this story. I read the first three back to back, in one day. This was worth the wait. So into the insta-lust mate now, the way this author writes it. Fun and sexually charged, This is a perfect addition to this series, and has perfect epilogues, that will bring a mile wide smile. Loved this book!!

I don't know about this one. I was utterly grossed out with the fact that she was 18 and he was 52 flipping years old. He called her gosh darn peanut for crying out loud. 🤦♀️ Totally fine if that is your thing, but I would have loved a but of a warning.

First, this was a good book. I enjoy her shifter books a lot. I’ve reads hundreds of them and she’s one of my favorites with mate books. With this one though I didn’t like that he had been married to some random person. And that his bear “gave up” looking for his true mate. That’s not correct mate behavior. I also didn’t like that when she confessed that she was a virgin and hadn’t even had her first kiss, he said that was good and how it should be. Obviously that’s one sided since I’m sure he slept around but also commuted to another woman in marriage and had a child. It didn’t matter that he didn’t have feelings for the woman. He married her, and that wasn’t fair to his true mate. He didn’t deserve to be her first if she wasn’t his regardless of the age difference. That’s my view on how the best mate books are that I’ve read. Besides those issues, I enjoyed it.

I want to be the only one... you're such a good mate, you kept this cunt safe for your man." she literally gave him all her firsts but he didn't save anything for her 😒

This insta-love/fated-mates tale is a good, quick, spicy read. I was happy to see Austin get his own story & HEA in this series, even though he isn't really a Ridge Brother. (He's actually the father of Kingsley, who is the mate of Damon Ridge from Book #1.) Ellie is a virgin (because, of course, she is!) and has been saving herself for the right guy; and even though Austin is obviously not, he's still been waiting years for his mate. Even though things move very fast for these two, since that's how things supposed to be for fated mates, it's okay. This is actually a cute story, with some fun follow-up to these and other characters, although I did think there were a few too many epilogues.

Out of all the books in this series. This was by far the favorite. It seemed to have more development than the others. Still lacks quite a bit background about this particular world its written in. All in all it was the best out of 4. The polar bear Sherriff finally finds his mate who is wayyy young but thats okay. It was still sweet and he was really good to her. It wasnt a wham bam thank you ma'am. He actually took the time to get to know her a little and she also went through something terrible. Ellie's definitely a damsel and lets Austin take the lead and care for her. It was terrible what her parents did. I have to say though it was really easy to get rid of bodies in this series. Kind of unrealistic but okay not a huge deal. Best out of 4.

Finally we get Austin's story! Austin is the towns Sheriff and has been waiting 52 years to find his mate. A sweater comes in the mail to the station, along with information of a kidnapping. As soon as Austin smells the scent on the sweater, he knows that he needs to find his mate. Austin goes all into protective mode when he finds Ellie tied to a bed inside a falling apart shack. Austin and Ellie find that even though there is a big difference in their ages, they are perfect together as mates. This is the last book in this wonderful series!

I will admit the idea of a 52 year old man and a teenager kind of skeeved me out but it was kind of a non-issue. He didn't play it up that it was a turn on that she was so young or say any of those "young flesh" kind of comments that make you want to vomit in your mouth. Also not really giving grampa style points for taking her virginity on the wooden stairs of his one room trailer but all in all it could have been worse. Also think the name of the grandson in the epilogue might be wrong based on previous books epilogues
