Jase Masters wasn’t supposed to want Cheyenne. She’s too young and he’s way too old to have the thoughts he had. Plus, her dad was his best friend. It was too complicated and a line he just wouldn’t cross. Fast forward three years later, Cheyenne is back home, this time for good. When they see each other again, the attraction is instant and as powerful as fireworks on a hot July night. She’s definitely all grown up and Jase is just as drawn to her as before, maybe more. He’s ready to make Cheyenne his forever and he’s not above going the extra mile to win her over. Because, nothing else matters except Cheyenne and there’s just no way he can walk away from her.
Tory has a little something extra special with Jase Masters and his need for Cheyenne, this is one over the top Alpha that won’t let his woman get away! As always guaranteed Safe read with a Happy Ever After sure to put a smile on your face.
Tory Baker is a mom of two teenagers and a dog mom to one wild and active Weimaraner, Remi. She lives in a small coastal town on the east coast of sunny Florida. Oftentimes you’ll find her outside soaking up the rays with at least three drinks surrounding her, a wandering imagination, and a notebook in hand where she’s jotting down a plot for her next story. She’s a lover of writing happily ever afters with Alpha heroes and sassy heroines.
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No om/ow drama. H’s sexual past is not mentioned and h is a virgin. Both Jase and Cheyenne have been lusting after one another for quite a while so things move very quickly when they get together. Cheyenne’s mother causes a bit of drama mainly for the h. She is not a nice woman. There is no abuse.
Been awhile since i read a tory book anddd it was pretty quick read.
Jase has wanted Cheyenne and Chey wanted him also.. but they never did anything. Jase didn't go after her since he wanted her to finish college and get her dreams 😊 now that shes back home he plans to make sure Cheyenne is his.. he even already told her dad his best friend lol LOVE THAT!! NO HIDING!! Only problem they had was her mother.. she was mean and a bitch to her daughter and Jase.. she was the only drama in this story.
Things went from 0 to 100 after the party confessing how much he wanted her. They waited few days to sleep together but it was all fluff with drama from the drunkish/bitchy mother.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, Drama, virgin gal not a manehore (idk if he had anyone or slept with anyone when she was gone for 3 years)
Recommend- yeah Cover-⭐⭐⭐

Jase May be older, but he knows that Cheyenne is meant to be his. Only problem, he won’t hold her back so he has to wait!!! Three years of college and she is back. It’s time to make her finally his. -safe read -h is a virgin -H has been celibate since he met her -no om/ow drama besides her cray cray mom -epilogue (9 months and 5 years)
Cheyenne has always had a crush on her father's best friend Jase. Once she finished high school, she thought it best to go away to college. When she completes college, she comes home, never thinking that her attraction isn't one-sided. Jase had a hard time letting Cheyenne leave for college without revealing his feelings. Now that she is back, he is going to win her heart and start their lives together. I love this trope of older man (brother's best friend, dad's best friend, etc) and younger woman. The best thing about Cheyenne is that she is smart and levelheaded. She is very mature for her age and knew from a young age what she wanted. She didn't let anything distract her from that goal. The connection between them is strong right from the start and illustrated how right they were for each other. I loved every sweet and sexy word of Can't Walk Away!
There is one thing I have learned reading a Tory Baker read, is that you need to be prepared to have all the feels. She really does write a good heart felt romance. The story itself is entertaining, the pace is fast and the plot an engaging one. If you havent experienced a Tory Baker read, this is a good start.
Here in Can't Walk Away we have our main female lead Cheyenne. She has had a crush on Jase since she was young. And like a guy, Jase always knew the affect he had on Cheyenne. Then he really started to notice her. But he is not sure she is ready yet. He wants her to experience and get school in before he makes her his. But once she does what she sets out to do, gets her degree. All bets are off. How will her family react? Will Cheyenne finally get what she has wanted since she was 15?
°Virgin heroine °Not sure if the hero was with others after meeting her (they met 6 years ago) but he said he'd been waiting for her to finish college so I assume he's been celibate for at least 3 years °Switching POVs °Hero is 38, heroine is 21 °Free of OW/OM drama °No separation °No cheating °No pushing away °Intimate scenes only between hero and heroine °Epilogue: 9 months and 5 years later
Cheyenne is home from college. Jace is Cheyenne's father's friend. Cheyenne has had a crush on Jace for years. Bit with the age difference and her I'm school Jace stayed to himself until she was done. Now she's home and he's laying his cards on the table. Will they get a second chance at love? Will they get a HEA?

At 21, Cheyenne has finished her degree, in 3 years. Working as a web.designer. Moving back in with her parents, is strained. Her graduation party full of her mother's friends, and Jase. Chey has had a crush on her dad's best friend, Jase since she was 16. Her feelings haven't changed. Jase has know Chey is the women for him for a few years now. He wanted her to follow her dreams before claiming her. Now she is home and their is nothing stopping him. A sweet and steamy, older man younger women romance. Loved Chey and Jase. A great epilogue to wrap up their story.
I was very impressed with how simply and effortlessly this author told this addicting, multi-layered tale with well-developed world building and great characters despite this being a shorter book.
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in a wee bit of drama and you have a good read.

Cheyenne & Jase's story was a great blend of sweet and steamy, just the way I like a romance.
This book had the dad's best friend dynamic along with the older man/younger woman theme. Two of my favorite!
I'm always a sucker for a guy who knows who/what he wants and goes for it. Jase didn't hide his feelings and desire for a relationship with Chey from her or his best friend, I really respect that. Bonus points to Jase for being a auto repair shop owner with muscles, tattoos and some fun "hardware" 😉. That's my kind of book boyfriend.
Chey's mom brings the only drama to the story but it doesn't detract from the budding romance and well ever book needs a bit of "something" to keep it interesting.
Dad's friend is a hottie! Liked this story with Cheyenne and Jase. Jase is older than Cheyenne but has been looking out for her and waiting for her to be done with college before letting her know how he feels. Lucky for him, Cheyenne feels the same. There is a bit of drama, but it works out and they get their HEA. Must read!

A fast-paced novella that wastes no time getting to the heart of the story, Can’t Walk Away follows Cheyenne, a young woman who returns home after graduating from college. She’s known Jase, a friend of her father’s, for 6 years and had a teenage crush on him. Jase knew that Cheyenne was interested, and for the last few years he’s known that he wants to pursue something with her but didn’t want to hold her back from completing her degree. Now that Cheyenne is home for good, Jase sees no reason to hold back any longer, and he makes his intentions known.
This is a quick, light and very steamy read that still has plenty of sweetness. I liked how Jase knew what he wanted, and it’s clear that he’s gotten to know Cheyenne well over the years. It’s not quite instalove since they’ve known each other for so long, but things definitely move quickly once they reveal their feelings to each other. The novella is short but still tells a complete story, and I appreciated the depth of feelings between our couple. The writing itself was a little unrefined at times, but I received an ARC so I can’t say for sure what the final version is like. All in all, it’s a sweet and steamy book that is easily read in an hour or two but still has a little of everything.

Cheyenne has had a crush on Jase since she was fifteen but never thought he would ever feel the same. So she concentrated on her education and when she had breaks she came home but only so she could catch a glimpse of him. Jase knew about Cheyenne's crush on him but it never matter to him until she turned eighteen and then he couldn't stop thinking about her. He wanted her to get her education before he made his move and it upset him that her parents didn't seem as caring for her as they should. Once she finished her degree she came home Jase wasn't waiting any longer to claim his woman. What will her family think about them being together? Will Cheyenne finally get her heart's desires?
This is a steamy hot story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

A bit anticlimactic! Growing up, Cheyenne had a crush on her father’s best friend, and went away to college in order to get some space from the situation although never forgetting him. When she rushes through college and comes home, she finds that the feelings she has for Jace are not only unwarranted, but wanted by him and with him feeling the same way about her. Of course with the age gap and family drama, the two get together and work through everything together. While I am a big fan of Tory’s books, this one seemed a bit anticlimactic for me regarding Cheyenne’s mother. I would’ve loved to know if anything she said was actually true and if so find the answers. Can’t wait for the next one from Tory though; love her writing! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it was amazing! While the basics seem typical, age difference romance, there are additional facets that just set this one appart from the average. The characters are absolutely wonderful. They are deep, bold, articulate, emotional, intraspective and real. It was so easy to be wrapped into the world created by Tory Baker from the very beginning, and unfortunately it ended way to soon. Jase and Cheyenne may not have been close for a long period of time, but they faced events time should not allow. Read this fabulous book for yourself and see how/if they weather the storm.

Very hot read by Tory Baker! Forbidden temptation and insta-love at its best. Cheyenne has crushed on her dad's best friend Jase for years. Now back from college, her feelings are just as strong. Only now that she is home, Jase is ready to let Cheyenne know he wants her too. He may be older but he knows she is the one for him. It was difficult letting her go away to college but he knew he needed to let her grow up before claiming her. How will her parents react when Jase lets everyone know he has staked his claim? Regardless of their reaction, he won't let Cheyenne go. Sweet and very sexy read with a bit of suspense that will keep you reading to the last page!
This book is a HEA alpha male story. Jase knew he shouldn’t fall for his best friends daughter he had looked at her from afar for three years, but when she arrived back home from college he knew he was lost and she was all he wanted. Cheyenne had watched Jase and wanted him but as he was her dads best friend she knew she could only look. When she came home to live they knew that what they had both wanted for so long was going to become a reality. This didn’t go down well with everyone but when true love hits you, you have to act on it. This is a lovely story of two people overcoming obstacles and prejudices to get what they have always wanted.
“You’re my heart, you’re my home, you’re the warmth to my soul
Great story. Not to much angst. Just some drama from h's mama. While I enjoyed the story, I like my H's a little more "you're mine everything else be damned". When she left for college, I get that he wanted her to go out and experience life but I would have liked to see hin tearing shit up to get to her sooner and not just because she's back home. At any rate, I still loved the story and still recommend. -virgin h, no details on H but assume celibate -no abuse -no cheating -dual POV -epilogues at 9 months and 5 years
I always love seeing a Tory Baker book on my Kindle. I know it’s the perfect read before bedtime to make me have sweet dreams. Jase and Cheyenne’s story is sweet and super sexy! Love the older man-younger woman storyline. Jase will do anything to ensure Cheyenne’s happiness and that includes protecting her from the person who should love her most. I love the epilogues! Seeing how Jase is with his tribe only cements the love he has for Cheyenne and his family in this story. Keep them coming, Tory Baker!
Jase and Cheyenne had had intermingled lives for years through her father. Though Jase was her father's friend, he most definitely was her Love interest. Both held their feelings tightly to their chests and awaited the passage of time...Jase to grow his business and Cheyenne to follow her dreams and to become the astonishing woman Jase knew she would be. But circumstances were upon them that pushed their boundaries and time. One night of protection opened the beginning to their love story and a HEA!
4.5⭐️ If you love old man-younger woman insta-love stories then this one is a must read! Jace has been on Cheyenne’s mind since the very first time she met him. But being her fathers friend, co-worker and years older than herself she just accepted loving him from afar. Now that she’s home for good Jace she’s her as fair game. Cheyenne has turned out to be quite the woman and Jace is old enough to know that when you find The One you do everything in your power to grab onto her and never let her go.
