A Wartime Christmas by Kitty Danton is a charming and heartwarming historical fiction set during the Second World War. It probably was alright if you like that sort of thing. A nice little story of life in the London Blitz in WW2. eminently predictable and somewhat inaccurate. i found it a slow read because it was not well written, I felt I had escaped into a fifties teenage book.

This book fell quite flat for me, I wanted another festive read to see me through to the Christmas period and although I loved the characters I just found it quite slow and I was skimming through a lot of the chapters hoping it would pick up and I’d get invested into the storyline and the characters lives but that just didn’t happen for me, I’m glad I picked it up but it wasn’t a book I’ll remember.
