This is an enchanting tale that teaches both young and old about the importance of planet earth. It tackles a whole range of pressing topics from animal welfare and testing, environmental laws and regulations to buying cruelty free products and locally sourced produce. It explores these topics with a sense of magic and imagination!

I just finished Lily Bowers and The Uninvited Guest. It's an eco fantasy and it tells a beautiful story of a young girl who is so compassionate and because she loves all the animals she decides to help them. I really enjoyed reading this book as I found it compelling and so inspirational. It shows that nobody is too young to make a change and to make this world a better place to live. It sends us an important message as it makes us realise that there are innocent animals who are suffering becaus ...more

An inspiring book, really fluent to read, very clear and captivating in its plot. It faces serious and urgent topics, like animal care and bullying, by keeping them simple and understandable for everyone. The author is perfect in giving voice to children and animals, by making the reader live from their perspectives and feel their worries, anxieties and, above all, the strong believe that everything can be changed and solved for the best, it is just a matter of will.

An extremely pleasant read. A graceful yet powerful story conveying a clear and important message: we must respect our planet and learn to live in harmony with Mother Nature. I found it moving, but fun at the same time. Definitely a book for all ages!

Hmmm...wasn't able to get to the last page as the book wasn't entertaining or interesting to me. Not sure kids would be inclined to read any further than I did. Reminded me of a late night infomercial. The book just didn't sit well with me. Would have found it more enjoyable had the author left out out the preachy parts or been a little more forthcoming with the environmental/activist agenda which was a distraction from the children's story. Very disappointing. ...more
