Hi there I'm Matt and I'm the author of the COMPTON VALANCE series, ALIENS INVADED MY TALENT SHOW and the creator of THE WORD MONKEYS podcast.

My latest book, ALIENS INVADED MY TALENT SHOW, is about a boy called Eric Doomsday and his best friend, Vinnie Mumbles. Together they have to stop two aliens from destroying the earth.

Compton Valance is a boy who accidentally creates a time machine and does things like wipe out the dinosaurs with a packet of biscuits and turn his dad into a woman. It's funny and totally gross so you'll LOVE IT! ;)

The first book in the series, COMPTON VALANCE: THE MOST POWERFUL BOY IN THE UNIVERSE came out in JUNE 2014. The second book, COMPTON VALANCE: THE TIME TRAVELLING SANDWICH BITES BACK was published in OCT 2014. The third book, COMPTON VALANCE: SUPER F.A.R.T.S VERSUS THE MASTER OF TIME was published in JUNE 2015. The fourth book, COMPTON VALANCE: THE REVENGE OF THE FANCYPANTS TIME PIRATE will be published in APRIL 2016.

In this book we meet Drishya who is obsessed with Robocalypse and wants to enter it herself. The only trouble is she needs a team to be part of to be able to enter. So when the popular girls take and interest in her she feels she may stand a chance, but when an initiation test introduces her to two boys who have an evident interest in coding and robots, Commodore and Elton she finally feels like she fits and can design a great robot to enter.

However at their school when the new vending machines dispensing the highly wanted SkumSnax makes the kids go on an addicted rampage to by more only they can help out a stop to the drama as they've not been infected with the desire for them...yet!

I loved this book so much the innuendos in the names playing on famous band names and her mum being in a job traditionally for a man and her dad being the one to rely on for school runs etc was a refreshing and realistic eye opener to modern day parenting life. It was a fun book both boys and girls can enjoy, just watch out for those vending machines in day to day life!

Absolutely loved this! It is like Recess meets Robot Wars, for those who remember the programmes! I have chucked throughout particularly at the names of the people and places. My favourite has got to be the dream squad - the burns!

I think if Noel Skum knew what was going to happen, it would be better.
