I want MORE, so much more! Every page I turn, every word I underline as being meaningful makes me hunger for the outcome. This is such a good series. It just takes so long to get that next book. I reread the first installment, "On the Mountain of the Lord" to refresh. I had forgotten so much due to the lag time between the publication of book 1 and book 2. Now I'm excited to get my hands on the next book. Authors, please hurry. Amazing story! ...more

I really want to like this series, and I catch glimpses of the Thoene greatness which I love. But mostly the writing is bad, disjointed and choppy. The characters are flat...and what should be a sweeping historical and futuristic saga is didactic and preachy. Wish the Thoenes would have written this their Jerusalem chronicles.

Interesting, but lacks nuance

I like the book. It's an easy read with plenty of action. The characters are borderline stereotypes: the sorrowful man who to d's faith, the strong woman who doesn't need faith, the wise grandmother, and others. The good guys and the bad guys may not wear black or white hats, but they're still obvious. The prophecies are interesting in light of current events, but I wish there was a disclaimer that differentiated the accurate research of past event with speculation a

Convincing Story

The characters are more real in this second novel. Bette is recovered from her fatAl wounding by a terrorist. Dr Garrison meets his grandmother. She fills him into so much of his ancient history. She has bones. She is real.

One of the Best Books Ever

An amazing love story and story of a return of things lost. Bette, Jack, Dodi, Lev - all well developed characters. And a story about the struggles Israel faces on the world stage today. I definitely recommend this book!

Getting to know Bible characters

I love being able to see Bible people as they lived ..This story is full of danger and Israel 's daily risk to live in the land. Jack is learning about his ancestors and the promises of God.

A beautiful story of hope and promises.
Gods promises are real.
He keeps all of His promises.
Everything means something.

I like the characters and the action, but sometimes it gets a little preachy.
This is such a relevant book today’s religious and political climate. It is fiction, but the reader learns so much about the Middle East, Israel, Jewish history and culture, and Biblical prophecy. I found it very worthwhile and enjoyable.
