This is indeed the longest series of A Tale of Vampires, and is the longest book of John Hennessy l've read so far. Yet, l didn't find any dull moment upon reading it because the author has put a lot of effort on creating this book. Not only that he added more details, but he also focused on the plot, and the characters' development.

In this book, l have truly appreciated the roles of each characters from the main to foil..l say foil, because as you read this series from book one up to this penul

The longest vampire tale is amazingly, the best one so far. The pace is different to reunion of the blood, and yet it is not a slow read at all. The way the author introduces one character and later, reintroduces them at different points in the book is very clever. The cast is large but the focus is really on Mariana and Darius, two vampires now in competition with each other but for different reasons. The sibling bond is probably the b-plot, but totally works. I love Juliana but it was great to ...more

EDITORIAL REVIEW posted by a reviewer:-
I have read all previous vampire books by JohnHennessy. This new book has again exceeded my expectations, which were alreadyquite high. The theme of this book is revenge, and we can see how it differswhen a vampire seeks it from a human idea of revenge. Yet there are also somesimilarities of course. John Hennessy's vampires are so realistic I nearlyexpected them to jump out from my paperback copy and haunt me in my sleep --although I had never been afraid

Our Hearts go to their Graves is an amazing book. I was hooked from start to finish.
I don't want to give away any spoilers so I will be careful in what I write in my review.
This tale is well written, intriguing, and at times has some quite comical dialogue between Juliana and Rocco.
I found Ethel to be particularly interesting. (I'm hoping for a spin off where we get to learn more about her).
I also found that I had a degree of sympathy for each of the vampires at some point during this tale.

A Tale of Vampires continues with the adventures of a group of Vampires. Some will live forever and some will die an extremely painful second death. The vampire in chief, Mariana, imparted some wise words to her "family":
"What we fear, also fears us. What we love, also loves us. What we love and fear will ultimately destroy us."- Mariana
Thus is the long, lonely life of a vampire. John Hennessey takes us on a journey into the world of Vampires.
