Foster Warren hasn’t had it easy and has the scars and demeanor to prove it. Hard work and a lethal vendetta made him the man he is today, the crime king of Oregon. He’s had one goal his entire life, kill the man who destroyed any good he’d had in it. He had no problems using and sacrificing anything to make that happen. After all, he had nothing to lose, not until he met Annabelle that is. Annabelle Glen spent years traveling but has lost her joy for it lately. She’s yearned for a home, someone to call her own. What she didn’t expect was a wounded Foster to come into her life, one that would never be the same. With a lifelong vendetta and strong enemies at every turn, will they make it through a war to finally get what they both long for? What those after them can’t understand is the depth of devotion between Foster and Annabelle. No matter what, Foster will have his queen. Warning: Older double virgins ahead!
Warning: Sweet, sexy and safe read! Happily ever after guaranteed! This author writes what she likes to read. That means there will be instalove, OTT Heroes, and, brace yourselves, virgin characters at times. If none of those float your boat, you might want to find another book. If they do, you're in the right place.

-no cheating -no ow/om drama - no pushing away -dual virgins -instalove -awesome secondary characters who keep the stories safe -safe -neither with other after meeting -fantastic epilogues
I'm sorry but I do not like it when a book has not been properly proof read. I find that all the typos and incorrect wording is a huge distraction.
Also....I have said before...authors really need to invest in a thesaurus!!! To use the same word over and over and over and over again is annoying. There are a plethora of words that can be used other than the same old "giggle".
This had potential and I liked the characters but these things listed above messed it up for me.
I loved this book as I do all of May Gordon's. This book is about Foster and the woman he falls in love with. He has been my favorite since the first book of this series. This is an excellent read and I have it on my re-read list.
The beginning of the story was great. Maybe I need to read previous books to catch up with the other couples mentioned. Didn't like the separation…that's totally a torture.
These MCs had the roughest start out of the other couples I've read about. I thought Foster was pretty careless with the very pregnant love of his life. I'm usually all for the heroine getting involved in the fights and all, but not an 8 month prego one! (Note I'm taking this a bit out of context) Those need to be protected from freaking paper cuts. So yeah, Foster was not a very effective protector.
Annabelle wasn't all that and a bag of chips either. We spend half the book visiting the previous couples so of course I did a lot of comparing. And other than her nonchalance and quick acceptance of the crime world (which makes little sense since she's an altruistic, globe-trotting volunteer), she didn't seem very special.
I have followed this 4 book series from the beginning & fell in love with the MC's in each and every one. However, I have really been anticipating Foster's story. And boy, was I not let down. Oh, Foster. My abused & lonely Foster. This book had everything I love... -crying hero ❤❤❤ -insta-love -alpha H -great heroine -double virgins - each others 1 and only -a little angst (8 month separation) -outstanding epilogues -pregnancy -dual POV -crying H!!! ❤ (oh, did I mention that already?) I felt so much throughout this book. From sadness for a small child in the very beginning learning about the H's childhood, to heartbreak in the middle when H was absolutely devistated at the loss he thought he suffered, to extreme happiness/joy at the end with the fabulous epilogues & HEA. If you haven't started this series yet, please give it a go, especially if you like any or all of the above. I can't wait to read more from this amazing author. Standing ovation for a job very well done.
This story was jam packed and took you on a rollercoaster ride. Foster and Annabelle meet under dangerous circumstances and fall for one another quickly. They were both in for a bumpy ride on the journey to their HEA.
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No ow/om drama, lots of mafia drama though. Both are virgins. They are separated for eight months each thinking the other is dead, both celibate during separation. Lots of death towards secondary mafia characters.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I don't even know where to start with this review. This is the 4th book in the series and should be read in order or you won't know any of the side characters or back story. Don't worry they're all worth it and wonderful. I have wanted Foster to have his own story as soon as you met him in Dark Souls(Book one). He just called to me. I can't really explain how or why but I just knew he was going to be my favorite. Foster: Alpha but oh so sweet and caring. I just love it when an alpha hero isn't afraid to cry and show emotions about his woman. He had a sad and scarred past but doesn't let that get in the way of his love for his Angel. There was a few moments in the book where he made me cry as well! Anna: Such a brave character! I highly enjoyed how she took to Foster being a crime king and wanted to know everything. Anna really was a strong and brave heroine to make it so long on her own like she did. Side characters: I loved seeing all the past main characters again and love their connection to each other. And seeing some kind of new faces. Or at least actually getting to see the characters interact with them besides just hearing of them. Makes me so excited to read their stories but sad at the same time because it is months away. Epilogues: Abso-fucking-lutlely LOVED them!! I swear it made me love Foster even more.
This is the fourth book in this amazing series, and is Foster and Annabelle’s story. In my opinion, each of these stories just keeps getting better and better. I was totally hooked and intrigue throughout, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
3* Foster is after revenge but getting shot leads him to Annabelle. Surprised to find Foster she can’t help but feel safe with him, Foster feels the connection to his Angel. Will she feel the same when he tells her the truth about what he does? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I love all the Crime Kings books but this was definitely my favorite so far. I laughed and I even cried . It was an emotional book but omg was so goid. There was a lot of action and I couldn't get enough . Can't wait for Porters story.
this was a really good book! to me it was just a little to rushed. its like this happened than this and so on. he grew up in hell and now wants revenge. she just wants someone to love her. these two meet and sparks fly. there is danger from his past that could kill them both.
I knew Fosters story would be amazing!! He had, so far, been a favorite as only a side character. His own story... wow😍 An Alpha who breaks down in tears over the love of his life, Anna. The two of them together was just perfect.
Foster and Annabelle....oh my I waited to get to this story and I was not disappointed. Annabelle is hysterical "we're gonna leave those nice drug dealers to deal with Arnold's men?" I mean I laughed so hard! She definitely is a go with the flow type of girl, who is strong and very capable. These two had quite a whirlwind, emotional adventure getting to their happily, but oh how I loved the story!
Oh hoo!! This book was worth the wait. After a bit teaser on Foster's situation, the book gave a full story on Foster's background. Although can be read as standalone. It's best to read previous books, since there's some crossover characters from previous and upcoming books.
I loved the coupling. After series of both badass h, this one took another route; a warm life saver h met a crime king. Who can even resist that? Am I right?! May Gordon had proven to be able to write different characters and interesting couples over the books. I loved the series and cant wait to read another one.
