This is the best book I have ever read on the experience of having a serious possibly fatal illness from the vantage point of the person who has the illness. It's a great book for understanding how to be the person who doesn't have the illness as an acquaintance, friend, or partner of the person who does. It's unassuming and funny by simply being true and direct. If you're either that person with the illness or the person connected with them, I suggest you read this.
