In order to achieve your dreams, you must embrace adversity and make failure a regular part of your life. If you are not failing; you're probably not really moving forward.

This book is absolute garbage. It's author, JOHN C. Maxwell, claims to be a leadership expert. Far from it. He is a theologian who cannot express himself to anyone but the Indoctrinated Christian. His writing refers to so many biblical verses and stories that you cannot read it unless you're "in the dogmatic CHRISTIAN know". I am in the know and I am offended than this book does not make itself available to a secular audience or persons from other religions. One does not need be a CHRISTIAN to have a good attitude or be a leader. If Maxwell is going to write about a secular subject to a public audience, he should not need to proselytize Christianity and insult our intelligence. Christians do not own the leadership or attitude market. What a hypocrite. The book is so small in physical size and short, it reminds me of a cheap impulse buy that sits near a cash register and not to be taken seriously.

This book provides a short, easy-to-read introduction into the topic of attitude. It combines story telling with simple, well-organized maxims.

Due to it's brevity, this is also a good book to read with your family or older children (this is what we do) if you're trying to help introduce them to these kinds of topics.

My only complaint would be that portions of it are clearly compiled from Maxwell's other works.

"Kites rise against, not with the wind." This quote is one of many inspiring reflections about leadership, failure, success, and adversity packed into this masterful little book. I liked the short length (100 pages). It was perfect for my busy schedule and gave me nuggets to reflect on when I read a few chapters on weekends or breaks.

3.25/5 stars!

"Every successful person is someone who has failed, but never considered himself a failure."

This small book is perfect for a dose of motivation! It focuses on why we should have a good attitude in order to be successful. Maintaining a good attitude is essential to every area of our lives, and that’s exactly what this book is trying to teach.
The book is packed with great, organized advice. The author gives a lot of examples when a point is being made, so that helped a lot with visualizing what he was trying to say. I would say this is a great book for people who are getting started on the self-development world. For me, it was a good opportunity to remind myself of a few concepts on this subject and check on my overall attitude.
It’s a great book to pick if you want to read something inspirational. It is very easy to read and you’ll get through it quickly! I recommend the audiobook version because the narration is great and it is only about 2 hours long.

It was a really great book. Simple but very impactful knowledge. If you want to be a greater person to the people you lead and surround yourself with and yourself in general. This is a must read. Short and to the point. And also a lot of great mini stories of well known people. Gives more joy to the reading.

Good short intro into Maxwell’s books on Attitude, and how it effects those in leadership rolls. While not in a leading job, Maxwell brings up great points that can apply to anyone in a professional, as well as personal setting. The chapter on not fearing failure is worth the price of the book.

This isn’t a deep boom at all. You can tell where there should be a couple pages, Maxwell chisels it down to a small paragraph, just skimming the surface of the topic.

So far, the 101 Series has done its job in that I’ve already bought another Maxwell leadership book.

Much like my opinion of Maxwell's 101 series, there's nothing necessarily wrong this Attitude 101. It's concise in its structure and language for easy reading and it offers enough analogy's for anyone to read, however I do think he has since written books that better illustrate the important of Attitude (see Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn). I think this was the weakest of the 101 series.

Great little read and reminder that attitude is actually more revealing that we recognize sometimes. It reveals a lot about the heart and what we’re feeling, and how attitude affects more than just ourselves.

Great book that I’ll likely thumb through and reference throughout my career and I could see myself recommending it, but I don’t think I’ll read it cover to cover again.

First book in the 101 collection done! This one, not surprisingly, turned my attitude around in a second. I love that Dr. Maxwell says that the right attitude to have is “positive determination.” I’ll be working hard to cultivate that in my own life!
