A hopeful, delightful story. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Emily is the main character, and she has a treasure. Her late mother wrote her a series of letters with guidance on life. She needs the letters now more than ever as she travels to Nantucket to prepare the familys cottage for sale. Her neighbor is a former baseball star who had a serious injury.

My favorite aspect of all was the characters. Emily felt like she could be any one of us, and her story is ultimately heartwarming. I adore hopeful stories and this

The thing I most found interesting in If For Any Reason is the letters Emily carries from her mom. As a mom, Im always fascinated by what kind of legacy other moms are leaving for their children. I have a notebook I write into for my boys, but not like Emilys mom. Still, I loved seeing how Emily treasured these, how they effected her life, and the new insight she gained when her past came forward.

In true Courtney Walsh style, this book hits on a lot of heartache we go through. But theres always

If For Any Reason is a story of belonging and changing dreams told through a romance and friendship in the ideal setting of Nantucket. Themes of grace and honesty permeate the world Emily and Hollis find themselves in literally and figuratively. As they deal with some hard things life has thrown at them, they must find the grace to work out their faith and relationship with God while a tentative connection grows between them.

Courtney Walsh excels at writing stories that blend one part womens

The book is a sweet story of blending the past with the present. It is a story of personal growth, hope, understanding and forgiveness. While the storyline is somewhat predictable , it really doesnt take away from experiencing Emilys journey to self-fulfillment. I appreciated the Christian undertones to the book which added a special element. My favourite part of the book are the letters Emily receives from her late mother Isabelle, as well as Isabelles own story of falling in love.

Delightful novel!

My engagement grew as the pages continued to turn. There are several wonderful themes in the novel including the relationship between fathers and daughters, fight or flight in the tough times and the importance put on money.

All of the main characters were lovable and well written. If for Any Reason made my heart sing.

A beautifully written story that takes you on an incredible journey of discovery, healing and hope.

So clever the way the plot intertwined. I enjoyed all the aspects. I couldnt resist the cover, I mean a gorgeous Nantucket beach, and a cottage that is in need of transformation- its not lost on me that the owner of the house is in desperate need of it herself. Almost everyone has some unresolved business that has to be challenged- and all the way throughout, an insight into the authors

This one is a super sweet and emotional read! Ms. Walsh is so good at that combination. It's been a little while since I read one of her stories, so this was like renewing an old friendship. :)

One of the highlights for me was the details on the theatre. Knowing that Ms. Walsh has a great deal of personal experience in that area, her wealth of knowledge and the joy it brings her shown through her descriptions. I connected with that part of Emily's life, even though I have zero experience and know

If For Any Reason is a charming summer read about second chances, connecting with your purpose in life and looking beyond the mistakes of your past. Its a story about family and belonging. Its easy to read with relatable characters and Courtney Walshs fantastic writing style. If For Any Reason is perfect fans of Christian contemporary romance.

Emily is returning to Nantucket Island. It holds good and bad memories- fun summers spent in the community theatre program and the year an accident took

Absolutely phenomenal! Review to come!

Dear reader friend,
I'm writing this to you not even 24 hours after finishing IF FOR ANY REASON and I have so many thoughts about it. Mainly I'm wondering why this beautiful story had to end and how could Courtney Walsh write something so perfectly?
This is a story about secrets and the past and fear and faith and family and home. It was a moving story of hurt and hope and love. It wasn't easy to read in some places because it really hit home for me. But in
If for Any Reason by Courtney Walsh tells the story of both Isabelle and her daughter Emily. Both stories take you on an emotional and sometimes tragic journey, but leave you with a feeling of hope and the possibility of second chances.

I really liked the time-slip aspect of this story. It was a great way to know Isabelles story without just telling us about it. I also enjoyed the epistolary parts of this story. They showed Isabelles own thoughts and became somewhat of a guide for her daughter,

Romance, clean; mild faith elements
More of a 4.5 for me as a reader. Emily story her past present and we get a glimpse at her new future, is a sweet, introspective, romantic lovely read. Her past with her mother, grandparents and the bits of her father that she knows, collide in the present when secrets start coming to light. Second chances for many people. Hollis' worries with regard to his daughter, his want for Emily, lovely, hurting, wondering, and romantic as the tender, soft spoken, and

" . . .sometimes you have to lose everything in order to figure out what's really important. Not an easy lesson to learn. Especially because I hadn't put any time into the things that mattered. . . . "

The things that mattered, the hard things, the real things. Emily Ackerman has returned to her grandparents' summer home feeling like she has managed to lose everything that she once dreamed about accomplishing; traveling, performing, staging, producing . . . all that remains is a lonely,

Such a heartfelt and beautiful story. Walsh has a gift for tugging on our emotional heartstrings, mostly because the reader feels like she just gets it. The letters from Isabelle to Emily are touching and made me really think about my own children and letting them know how much I love and care for them now and in the future. I need to learn to be more open and share myself and my past a bit more.
I love Walsh's passion for the theater and how this translates into the story as well. And the

The letters between Emily and her late mother provided a fresh twist on a tried-and-true plot device. Allowing readers to experience Isabelle and JD's story through the letters and also in a few well-placed scenes throughout the novel added a richer layer to If for Any Reason. Emily's reliance on the letter as both a link to her mom and a compass for her life choices made for interesting reading.

Goodness. What a rich story, full of complexities. Im hesitant to get too detailed in my review because I really dont want to leave any inadvertent spoilers!

The primary story with Hollis and Emily was exactly what Ive come to expect from Courtney Walshcomplicated pasts, misguided life choices, regrets, and a sweet love story with a hero who stands faithful and true. Then theres the slight time slip with Isabelle and JDs teenage history, whichwow. I love JD. I keep reading reviews gushing on

Walsh is one of my favorite authors and this book is no exception. I adored this book and have read my ARC twice already!

Emily's mantra throughout this book is "I can do hard things." I know that might seem cliche to some but it really is truth and it resonated with me through the whole book.

Often as I read a book I fall more in love with one character than any other - but in this book I really connected with a lot of the characters. I loved the setting of Nantucket and really loved all the

Ive been a fan of Courtney Walsh for many years.. she writes complex family struggles and sweet love stories with people who feel real and spiritual struggles that I can and have identified with. Thus, when she announced last year that this one was on the way, I knew Id be reading it ASAP.

The main characters in this story grew up together on the little island of Nantucket, went their own ways and had their times in the spotlight, and are now adults and back on Nantucket with difficulties and

Wow wow wow! Talk about a whopper of a book! At the heart of the story is Emily, and the letters from her deceased mom that has guided her life. Courtney Walsh knit together a wonderful story from there, including showing how Emilys parents met (through a fabulous split timeline that really pulled me in). The present-day hero, Hollis, was a testament to how God can change people, no matter how far theyve fallen. The emotions and faith elements in this novel were spectacular. I hope Courtney ...more

If For Any Reason is set in charming Nantucket and showcases the quaint summer vacation town to its fullest. This story does not shy away from the hard or messy things of life. If For Any Reason, I loved this title and the way it played into the story. When I first heard it, it sounded a bit strange but I didnt think much about it. Then as the story of this book started to unfold it made complete sense and I loved it.

I think that this book is a wonderful read. This is also my first Walsh read. I wasn't disappointed at all!
This is a beautiful story of past mistakes, hurt, second chances and forgiveness and you can also throw a little truth in there as well. All of it very nicely written. Just a perfect blend for everything included.

IF FOR ANY REASON is a poignant story of loss, family, choices, and love. It takes place in the summer on Nantucket and time is split between the past and present (although mostly in the present) as a daughter tries to find her way without her mother. Definitely recommended to inspirational contemporary romance fans!

I love this author's writing style and the characters she creates that always pull on my heart! This story is no exception. Both Emily and Hollis (as well as Hollis's daughter Jolie)

In her new novel, If for Any Reason, Courtney Walsh takes us to Nantucket island. Whether a small town like Harbor Pointe or the island of Nantucket, Ms. Walsh creates an adventure of the heart, soul, and family.
Emily and Hollis are imperfect people with complicated pasts that are littered with mistakes and regrets. They long for just a moment of knowing they're doing something right.

Courtney Walsh excels at taking well-developed, complex characters through the paces of self-realization, making peace, and falling in love against a backdrop of interesting minor characters, and, in this case, a beautiful oceanside setting.

Hollis is a guy who's made big mistakes but remains lovable in his desire to make those mistakes right. It's hard not to empathize with Emily, who's lost so much and is desperately trying to live the life she *thinks* her deceased mother wants for her. The
