2022 I'm currently in Istanbul, Turkey an amazing city for a writer who sees plots everywhere. I left Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, a town of hot humid days and sultry passionate nights, in early 2019 to travel the world. Istanbul was a two-day layover in a multi-country trip of several months. But I fell in love with Istanbul and a Turk. After I used up all my one-way tickets, I let my heart lead the way and came back to Istanbul. CAFE CONFIDENTIAL is that story! https://amzn.to/3dKBAWA
I write spy/mystery, romantic suspense, memoir, and poetry. I've been accused of writing based-on-real-events-and-character stories in my Code Raven Series. I will definitely admit that there are a few real-life characters and events in each one of my books! But a girl never kisses and tells, right?
The demand for more memoirs has led me to write Destiny's Daughter. As Humpty Dumpty would say: We all fall down. And fall down I did towards the end of lockdowns during the pandemic. Destiny's Daughter shares the journey from vitamin C to Xanax. It hasn't been easy, but in the interests of authenticity, I've kept it real. Thanks for the reviews. We average 4.8/5, so I know my message is touching hearts and sharing the message that we are all one. Your pain is mine, mine is yours. Thanks for being in my life and allowing me to be a part of yours.

Code Raven is the prequel for the Code Raven series by Lynda Filler. The series is an action-packed adventure, with suspense, special ops, covert missions, drama, and intrigue. This book lays out some of the groundwork, filling in character details, giving backstory and background information that is the foundation for the series which follows. This book moves from past to present and back several times over the course of the book. These flashbacks give us important details that help us better understand the character/s and motivations. The book is a fast-paced novelette, which makes this a very quick and easy read. It is told from several points of view, helping to give us a well-rounded perspective of everything. This book introduces us to Luke Raven, the head of the Raven Group- a top secret special ops corps. He is a brilliant man; whose accomplishments and talents seem to be limitless, but who has also experience great personal heartache. We really get to know him and the other members of his team. I enjoyed finding out about him and meeting the others- Luci, Alice, Zach, RB, Maggs- and discovering how the Raven Group came to be. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series- it looks set to be a thrilling ride.
This is the prequel novellette for the Code Raven series, and we meet and get background information on the key characters but mainly follow Luke Raven. Hes a very smart young man and that garners attention from some very higher ups in the US. Reading about Luke and all his accomplishments and how he became the man he is was a great read. I won't give any important details away but I felt for him all the way through to the end.
Gear up, tighten the buckle of your seat belt and hang on tight as you get gripped and captivated in the life of Luke Raven and how the Code Raven group came to be formed.
Though a story of loss and love, it is also a tale of courage, validation and life.
A very fitting start to an action pack series. I've read the 1st 2 books and they are mind blowing.
The Code Raven: Prequel is a wild and amazing introduction to a thrilling series and I found the characters to be unique, fascinating, and highly skilled.
CODE RAVEN: Prequel by Lynda Filler was a short insightful read that now has me gearing up to read the rest of this series.
So I'm going to start with telling you that this book as a whole is basically a set up novella for the series to follow. It goes into Luke's childhood and all the things he did to get himself established, and motivation as to why hr started his group. Towards the end we are introduced to several other characters that make up that group. There isn't that must given, just a short and sweet intro on their backgrounds and abilities.
As far as plot goes, for me there wasn't really one, as this is purely a set up book. It gaves you just enough to be intrigued, but left out enough to keep the mystery alive. It plants a seed of curiosity in your head making you want, no need, to read the main series. This was the perfect intro to what I'm guessing is going to be an action packed, thriller/mind gamey read. There is some major foreshadowing going on, and I can't wait to dive into the first book; which is called Xposed.
Overall I am happy with this short read, it did it's job in more ways then one. So please take my high recommendation that you will fly through this book, then dive into the next because you need answers, and you need to know what Luck is planning, and if what he says is actually true.
Code Raven: Prequel is small book which breaks down all of the major characters for the Code Raven story in to a few chapters.
Each chapter touches upon stage in Luke Ravens life, from talented and very intelligent young man, to Solider and then on to becoming a Tech firm CEO. Each of the chapters in this prequel elaborate on each of the people who effect Luke Raven along the way. Whether they were only met in Luke's childhood or later on in Luke life.
I found each chapter gave just enough of the back story to each character, as a tantalising taster for things to come in the Code Raven series.
This prequel, although short in the number of pages. Is enough to spark the readers enthusiasm in wanting to read more about each of the characters back story. Just like a TV series, which leaves you with enough of a cliff-hanger. In eagerly wanting more of the story with each turn of the page.
I was worried this story wouldn’t be able to give me much because it’s so short. But I was wrong. I was pulled in almost from the beginning. I now have a vested interest in the Raven group. I learned a bit about the different characters that join and how their friendships developed over the years. But mostly we learned about Luke. His childhood, he dreams, wants and needs. I eagerly look forward to more in this series.
My one issue was the transferring of the main characters name from Luke to Raven. One sentence it would “Luke was happy” then the next sentence would be “Raven taught...” I usually had to go back and reread to see who the author was talking about. It’s the same guy!
This is a first time author for me. The writing was engaging and the characters were interesting. The story line was enough but now I want to know more.
Wow!! That was fast...Took me approximately 4 pages to know whether I was going to get into this story or not.. I wasn't sure but I was definitely interested...Next thing I knew I was done and it is causing me great pains to stop and write this review because what I really want to be doing is diving into the next of this series.
This was simply awesome...I am hooked and although at the very beginning I was scared Id stay confused through the whole thing, that was most definitely not the case. I am so fascinated by this lead character Luke Raven, I just don't have the words to describe him and my heart absolutely broke in two for him towards the end of this story...I love Zach and RB and can not wait to read more about them and the new characters I will be getting to know as I read on.
This was an awesome start to what I'm thinking will be an amazing series!!
CODE RAVEN: Prequel By: Lynda Filler 5 out of 5 stars
The story CODE RAVEN: Prequel by Lynda Filler is a very interesting book that I loved reading. One of the main characters in the story is Luke Raven. There are also other characters that you are introduced to and I enjoyed reading about them and their interactions with Luke. Luke is a man that is highly intelligent and many seek him out. He is someone that pushes boundaries. When reading about him I had the feeling that he is one that is calm under pressure and analyzes every situation that comes before him from different angles, then deciding on a course of action. This is a story that hooked me in from the start and I soon found myself finishing the last page. There is an atmosphere of mystery and suspense and I found myself wondering what was going to happen next. I am looking forward to reading the next story in the series and seeing where the author takes the storyline and the characters. A well-written book that I would recommend reading.

Code Raven by Lynda Fuller was a quick easy read. I still want to read more to see if I can get into the story more. This book was full of action and suspense. It was very short but there is more in the series which I will read soon.
I thought the storyline was good but found myself a little confused at times. Sometimes it’s Luke, sometimes it’s Raven and sometimes it’s Luke Raven.
Looking forward to reading more of this series soon.
Code Raven is the prequel to the Code Raven series by Lynda Filler. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Filler and I have to say I can’t wait to dive into the rest of this series. This prequel is just enough to wet my appetite for this series. This book held my attention from beginning to end. There was action and intrigue at every turn. I love Luke Raven’s character and the team he is building. This is a little different genre than I’m use to reading, but I’m loving it.
This is a prequel to the author’s Code Raven series. It is a novella. I would maybe even call it a short story. Though short, it is packed with information. We learn Luke’s life story and are introduced to the other characters who form the Raven group. We find out how they all met and are interconnected. I think this is a solid building block for the rest of the series. I’m happy that I read this book and I think you should too.
Code Raven: Prequel, by Lynda Filler, was a suspenseful novella to the series. The author packed a lot within the limited pages, amazingly done! What was provided will whet your appetite for what's to come within the series and it was creatively done hinting at just the right triggers to garner interest. The stage is set with Luke, along with several other characters that will continue within this series. From what I have read, I am more than ready to read what's to come next.
This is the first book in this series, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. This is a short story that is full action. I enjoyed getting to see Luke's life before he becomes what he is today. The twists and turns left me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen on the next page. I read this book in one sitting. I also enjoyed meeting the rest of the characters in this book and can't wait to see what will happen next with this series. I highly suggest this book
Lynda Filler kicked me in the feels with this enthralling prequel to the Code Raven series. For being a short read, at 56 pages, it really gives you a lot. We discover who the series will be around, Raven, well Luke Raven. The background info really sets you up to fall in love with Raven and the supporting characters that are also introduced. I could tell this definitely a stepping stone to what is to come. Mystery and suspense has me wanting to go on to the next in the series right away. I need to know what will come next and where Lynda plans to take us on this journey with Raven.
Lynda Filler was new to me when I picked up her other title, Lie to Me. I was really impressed with her writing skills in that one and have been hooked on her since. She really builds her characters, sets up her plots, and then weaves it into a gripping story line that will have you hooked from beginning to end. I can’t wait to devour the rest of this series.
Code Raven is the prequel to a new series from author Lynda Filler this is my first read from this author I can't wait to see what she brings to this series.
I must admit at first reading the synopsis I thought I would like this read, but as I started to read I was getting confused and couldn't really get into the story. But then suddenly I couldn't put the read down. It had captivated me without even realising it and the next thing I knew the book was over and I was excited and eagerly awaiting to be able to read the next one.
This was a brilliant set up and introduction for what's to come, and gave you an insight into some of the characters that we could meet and what their story is, but also new characters that have a chance to tell their story. But I cannot deny my intrigue into Luke Raven and his story.
This is a quick read that I think is a brilliant introduction for what else is to come from this thrilling series!
This short read, a prequel to Lynda Filler's series, "Code Raven", tells the fascinating back story of Luke Raven, how he came to be the enigmatic and surreptitious man that heads the Raven Group. As a young boy, he was taught survival skills by his Blackfoot Indian father, but it was his immeasurable intelligence and strong patriotism that took him to where he is now. You'll want to catch this one, then go on to Filler's "Code Raven" series. Very well written. Highly recommend!
CODE RAVEN: A Code Raven Prequel by Lynda Filler 4 out of 5 stars
I personally feel that when a book series has 3 or more books, an author should consider writing a prequel to the series to give information and depth to the characters. Let me preface this by stating that this book does just that, it gives you everything you will need to really enjoy the Code Raven Series. While there is no story or plot to review, the writing is smooth and each thought easily transitions from on to the other. You can every easily follow along with this story. There is just enough detail that you are not overwhelmed with the knowledge of what is yet to come and you are still able to look forward to the series and are excited for the story to unfold. This is the perfect introduction to this series.
This review is going to be short, sweet and to the point. Pick up this book. Seriously, pick it up. Although the book is a short novella that is setting up the series, it was AMAZING.
Luke Raven is the founder of the Raven Group. A highly intelligent, motivated secretive billionaire that has been dealt a blow after the death of his wife and son. How will this change him?
Lynda Filler does a wonderful job setting up this story with this short novella. Not only do you learn what made Luke Raven the man he is today, you also meet a whole slew of interesting sub characters. From the beginning, Ms. Filler hooks the reader and takes you on a few twists and turns but leaves you wanting more. This book is a super-fast read but that’s okay because it will get you to the next book in the series just that quickly. From one avid reader to another. GET THIS BOOK!

Code Raven by Lynda Filler is a prequel to the Code Raven Series.
We are introduced the Raven Group and where they come from – or more precisely, how they come to be. We are first introduced to Luke Raven, and who he is. He is what you would consider a Genius with a high IQ. He was raised in New Mexico, and comes from a German descent mother and a Native American father. His father was a military man, who truly loved his country – and it was that love that he taught Luke. He was taught from a very young age to care for himself, and most importantly – how to think for himself.
I was most definitely intrigued by Raven's story, and am more than ready to dive back into this series. I want to know where the team goes, and how they get there. This was a definite 4 Star quick read, full of mystery. I was definitely intrigued.
Code Raven The Prequel Lynda Filler ☆☆☆☆☆ This is definitely the Prequel. To an unforgettable action packed adventure.
Luke Raven was happily married, until the day his wife and young daughter was murdered. When Luke shows back up, he shakes things up. Starting Code Raven will only be the start. Not only does he have the money he needs to run this company. He has the brain and muscle needed to back him up.
Lynda Filler has just started her adventure with this book. I read it so fast, I'm excited to read the rest of the series. This series will be a real page turner. I love her characters and can't wait to see where she takes them. Bring on the adventure Lynda Filler! I await you, along with many others.
This was a great short read that have absolutely got me ready for the rest of the series to come. I love it when authors write prequels, I find it sets me up for the other stories, lets me find out about the authors writing style and more importantly get some background knowledge on the characters. I know that the next book will probably be action packed from the start so I won’t need that character development that I love because I already have it!! I really feel like I know Luke, I know what makes him tick, what has happened in his life already and I can’t wait to read more about him! The scene is set for the series and I am really looking forward to it!!
Code Raven was a great 5 star read and the prequel to the Code Raven series. This is a quick read, I was done before I even knew I was close to the end, I was pulled right in.
Luke is a very smart person, so smart in fact that the government wanted him at a young age. This book pretty much introduces you to Luke and gives you his back story and what occurs to cause him to create Code Raven.
I feel this was a great way to pull you in and prepare you for the series. There is a little bit of action along with some twist and turns. We also meet the rest of characters towards the end of the novella. I’m excited to start the series. I highly suggest reading Code Raven before you start the series.
A great read about success. This prequel gives you the background of how Luke Raven became the man he is today with friends to help him along the way before the events of the first book. A great read. Well developed plot with fast action to keep you reading. Well developed characters like Luke as a genius trying to help the world or Zach as a good friend but standing up for himself. The respect towards different cultures and heritage such as Israel and Jewish was brillaintly done with the love and resoect they deserve. I also loved the simple settings of schools and academic halls and the army place which was simple base for Luke's sense of adventure to keep going which was a great touch. The only issue I would raise is that the jumps in time were sometimes hard to follow. This could be improved by having chapters as it felt like one block of writing instead of a book. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.
Code Raven is the beginning to an amazing series by Lynda Filler. I have not read anything else by this writer but I know that this is one series that I will be reading – from the beginning to the end! As the title says Code Raven is a prequel to the series, it is sort of an extended prologue that gives you the framework to put the rest of the series into! It introduces you to the main players, their motivation, their loss, and their drive … It gives you a taste of what is to come and I am so happy to know that I have the first story already downloaded on my reader! It is an action packed and mind bending read that will not allow you to put the story down after you have started! Welcome in to the world of Raven Group folks!
