Tatia and Jesse have a perfect life in Chicago. Her testimony put Eric in prison in Texas twenty years ago. How could anything go wrong?
A mysterious envelope invades their home with news of a trafficker's parole, and a handwritten note asks the ominous question about their daughter: Is Joy as brave as her mother?
An old black van. A missing child. Tatia and Jesse race through the city streets with a band of bikers while Johnny and Jade dig through the dark web and Detectives Nelson and Martin pound on doors.
Will it be enough? Or will Joy become another statistic?
I cared for my parents, both of whom had Alzheimer's, for 15 years. I began writing not only to help maintain my own sanity but also to encourage, inspire, and amuse other caregivers. I love to travel and, since retiring, I have traveled mostly by motorcycle and RV. My husband and I live in a small East Texas town where I garden, write, and take an active part in the life of my church.
Short but good story. Maybe that is the best thing. It does not take 400 pages to tell a story. Thank you Linda. A little heavy on the religious aspect, but that may be what Christian writing is about. Not sure I buy into reading the gospel of John converts one. Sorry Linda. Liked that no one really got injured. Not no one hurt. Life hurts. Favorite line "She withdrew from what was going on around her and settled into a private hell of worry". I like to picture things as I read and found I could not quite picture the compound and where the mailbox was that the kids had to be allowed to pick up the mail.

I really felt for Tatia and Jesse in this book.. Twenty years after Tatia is able to escape the horrors of what Eric put her through.... Only to have her daughter kidnapped by the same man. That would have to be horrifying... Oh the way Linda wrote it- you blended in and became part of the story.. My only problem with the book were the few instances in which she used cuss words. I understand that Eric is certainly not a christian, but I still think CF should refrain from using language in any manner. But great story that keeps you coming back for more!! Eagerly waiting for the third installment.
I loved Linda’s first book about Tatia and couldn’t wait for the second one. I was amazed how the story flowed. It kept me captivated. I’m ready for the third book!
