Stone Masters Vampire #4

A Vampire's Bohemian

Rate this book
He was everything I needed. I was everything he yearned for. He claimed me completely. Our passion burned more fiercely than the morning sun.

Jadeon warned me to stay away. Impossible. Not even my investigative work at Scotland Yard was enough to distract me from saving him.

This tormented vampire. This Lord of the underworld. My obsession.

His domain drew me into its very center. Seduced me. Threatened to consume everything I knew. Everything I believed in. Everything I'd fought for.

And a vampire would have to risk immortality to save me.

Another brilliant masterpiece in the The Stone Masters Vampire series.

Bohemian picks up a few months after A Vampire's Dominion. I honestly can't say enough about this series and these characters.

I would say this quote sums it up quite perfectly...

"We're a grand collection of misfits and we're all very happy here."

Ingrid, a police detective breaks into a suspects home office during a formal gathering, looking for evidence that could lead her to obtaining a warrant so to properly charge the suspect.

I love her character. I think her motto should be "I'll break the law to maintaine the law."

She's just so passionate about her work and over wrought with guilt that most of the time she fails to see reason and finds herself in hot water.

Not exactly a good thing when your investigation is tied, once again, to the underworld.

Enter...

Orpheous
I can never tire of Orpheus. He was, after all, the one who started this series. That man vampire has certainly been through hell and back and I'm so glad to see him whole again. His broody, sexy, sarcastic ways..

And now he's somewhat tied to Ingrid with the mystery of the missing girl. Orpheus loves a challenge and Ingrid presents one. He knows her heart lies elsewhere but it's just too damn fun for Orpheus to play his games and ooze his sexy charm on her.

Jadeon
Wow...
Where to start with Jadeon. I remember a time where I didn't love him. o_O
What was I thinking!

He has become one of my favorite characters. Now that he is Dominion. He has taken on the huge responsibility of being the leader of the vampire race.

How does that change his character? You'll have to read to find out, but I can tell you, he shocked me more than a few times..

His relasionship with Orpheous... Complicated.
His relasionship with Ingrid... Complicated.
Thats really all I can say without giving out spoilers, and he too is tied to Ingrid and Orpheous with the investigation.

Anais
I loved her character too. Actually, I hated her, then I loved her then I really hated her and then I loved her again.

This is what I love about this author. She can make you love, hate then love again in a matter of pages..

Speaking of love..

Alex and Sebastion
Sigh...
while there were only a couple short scenes in this book of them. I still loved it and loved them. I'd love to see where this is going...
*hint hint*

I'm saving the best for last..

Paradom
He has become my absolutely, positively favorite character of this series. I have no idea if the author intended him to become so beloved, but he has.

Why you ask? Well for starters, he hangs off chandeliers and eats cat food! How can I not love him? And he has many other talents as well, but I won't tell you what they are.

I love the interaction between Paradom, Alex and Sebastion. I could read an entire book of them just hanging off chandeliers and eating cat food.

Overall, book four was amazing. The story, the execution. All the pieces fell together perfectly.

The author withheld just enough information to keep you guessing while she feed you answers throughout at just the right moments.

There wasn't anything unnecessarily thrown in there. The story flowed perfectly and was evenly paced.

I can't tell you how much I love this series. This isn't just a book about blood sucking vampires. It's so much more than that. Read it. You won't be disappointed.

And that was my honest review. Can't wait for the next book!

Intriguing and twisted until the last page. There is no way to describe this series then to read it for yourself. This author is amazing in every book that is written and I only hope there is more.

Bohemian is a Paranormal Romance but it’s not all fangs and bloodsucking. It’s a gritty and intense storyline which is a rare find in today’s PNR genre. Don’t get me wrong I like fangs and bloodsucking but it makes a refreshing change for that part of it to take a back seat to the actual storyline and plot.

Ingrid is an investigator for Scotland Yard and may or may not cross the line while investigating to get results. Now in one respect I like Ingrid. She’s independent and does what she needs to get the job done and has no apologies for it. On the other hand I wanted to scream at her to STOP on numerous occasions because she just wouldn’t listen to anyone and she was so pig headed. I’m sure I’ve acquired a few more grey hairs!

I love the way that Vanessa has managed to pull me in to the story and keep me engaged until the last page. I couldn’t put the book down and I even read into the early hours. As a British reader it makes a nice change to read a book with British sayings, it felt as though I was listening to my friends chatting. It really did bring the book to life for me. The twists in the storyline were completely unexpected and I didn’t see the ending coming. Like I said it was a refreshing read on a gritty level.

Another vampire story.

Which means another vampire boyfriend. (smirks)

Bohemian started with Ingrid, a policewoman, stealing some sort of evidence she needed for a case she's working on from a suspect. Yeah, you read that right -- a policewoman stealing. She was so close to getting caught, luckily, she's friends with a vampire named Orpheus, and he helped her out.

She was marked as a Gothica, or a vampire's servant who agreed to be turned after five years. And now, a girl had gone missing and she found out that the girl, named Beatrice was also marked. Like any other mortal girls associated with vampires, Ingrid is a fearless girl. Fearless, as in she's not afraid to lure into a place full of vampires, even though she knew they can drain her blood out any minute she step a foot at their territory. Well, I guess she's not afraid since Orpheus marked her as his own Gothica to protect her.

Ingrid is inloved with a vampire named Jadeon, but they broke up. And she's still inlove with him. I guess it happened within the first three books (which I need to read badly). She keeps it to herself but she didn't give up in finding Jadeon. Jadeon hid himself from Ingrid but later on showed up to her because of a punishment. Punishment, huh.

This melancholy wasn't getting me anywhere. It was time to ignore this aching for Jadeon that devoured my insides. This misery of heartbreak for which there was only one cure; throw myself into work.

My favorite character is Orpheus. I thought he's the one for Ingrid since they were always together during the first scenes in the book. Plus, Ingrid is Orpheus' gothica. I kinda felt sad when it was still Jadeon that Ingrid chose. And also thankful. I can have Orpheus. The sexy, mysterious but sarcastic vampire. Lol.

After all, this in not the kind of vampire book with lots of neck biting and blood sucking in it. It's more of finding this missing vamp girl named Beatrice, mysteries, secrets, and ways to keep the vampire society hidden from this world.

I liked this book but I have a lot of questions and I'm looking forward to know more about their past lives.

**ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**

Out of the entire Stone Masters Vampire series, I believe that Bohemian was my favourite book. I don’t know if it was the storyline, I don’t know if it was the fact that it was told from Ingrid’s POV (whom I absolutely love), but I do know that I couldn’t put it down.

As I’ve stated, this novel is told from Ingrid’s POV, who we met in A Vampire’s Reckoning and A Vampire’s Dominion. I am just in awe of Ingrid as she is strong, independent and not afraid of a challenge. I love the powerful role that she plays within this novel because we get to see a whole lot more of her than we did previously. The story centres around an investigation that Ingrid is working on that has ties to the underworld. While searching for clues and the truth, she must decide whether she listens to Jadeon’s warning to stay away from all vampire associations, or follow every lead that can help her find the missing Gothica. Obviously, Ingrid does what she does best… meddles in vampire affairs to get the answers she is looking for!

Jadeon and Orpheus are also back in this new addition to the series, and they are a lot more friendlier towards each other than they were before. I absolutely love both these men, but was definitely swayed more towards Jadeon being my favourite until we see how much Orpheus has changed in Bohemian. It’s safe to say that I’ll call this one a draw; I love them both too much!

Who remembers Paradom? Well, he is still hanging around in this book, literally. I don’t know what it is about him but I just think he is completely awesome. Who’d ever thought that an insane vampire that eats cat food would be awesome?

My only query now, is whether this is the end of the Stone Masters Vampire series or if we can expect more to come? I honestly hope to see more of Ingrid, Jadeon and Orpheus in the future. It just doesn’t feel like the story is completely over. What about the Stone Masters? Will Paradom ever be sane again? What happens to Sebastian? Where is Jacob? ..maybe that was more than one question!

I really enjoyed reading this book! I thought the characters were intriguing and very well thought out. Vanessa Fewings sets the story with amazing detail and clarity and not once did I think any of it was over the top or dramatic. Instead Vanessa paints a supernatural scene that makes you think that you would see it in your everyday life and believe it.

Inspector Ingrid Jansen has lost the only man she has ever truly loved and struggles to lose herself in her work to dull to pain of her loss, but when the case that comes across her desk trusts her back into his world, she is at a loss in how to keep her feelings in check.

Infamous vampire Jadeon is now the head of the vampire nation with many responsibilities and one of those is to stay away from the beautiful Inspector, that is if he wants to keep her alive, but the pull between them is as strong as ever and will not be silenced.

Together they will find a way to work this case of the missing girls/vampires and find a way to be together even if it gets them both killed in the process!

Amazing story! I couldn't put it down! Anaïs and Orpheus were my favourite characters. Anais because she was ruthless in her pursuit of finding answers at any cost and Orpheus because he was charming and sweet and I didn't think Ingrid really gave him the time he deserved.

If you haven't read this series yet I would Highly recommend it! from just reading this one I am dying for more!!!! TBR it today!

Okay first off I have to say that I did not read the first three books and after reading this book I am definitely going to read them because I know I missed some things. Even not reading them this book jumped out at me in so many ways I could not put it down.

First I love the fact that the location of the book is in London and the Inspector is a lady inspector which threw me for a loop but a very good loop because Inspector Ingrid Jansen is the bomb. Her current case is to find a missing girl but this case is anything but normal and as things start to unfold she will get reacquainted with some old friends.

Jadeon and orpheus come back into Ingrid's life. Both with different reasons for being in Ingrid's life but at the end of the day they are both connected to Ingrid and what happens between them all is just amazing. Plus I have to say the supporting characters brought so much into this story and there were a couple of people I need to know more about so I will go back and read the series in order so I can find out more lovely bits about them.

Plus we get to see Ingrid grow and in this story she will have to make decisions that will be very difficult for her but in the end will make her a stronger person and bring her closer to her true love.

Ok I thought the last book was my favorite in the series... No I was wrong! This is my favorite. I loved this book. It switched things up a little and changed point of views. Before we mainly heard form Orpheus and Jadeon. Ingrid was our main point of view in this book and I loved it.

This story really brings the series together. Questions that you were left dying with in the previous books are answered. Characters develop even more as we go along. We are introduced into a new set of characters and we get a glimpse inside Dominion's new lifestyle.

I was really curious to see how Orpheus and Dominion would be after the split. This book answers those questions as well as gives you new perspective into their lives. I just can't say enough about this book and this series. I really did love it.

This series has truly aged like fine wine. It only gets better as you read along. By far the best read yet in the series. I couldn't put it down. I read it in one sitting. In fact I didn't even get up to eat or drink. I was completely immersed in the pages.

I received a free copy of the book for an honest review.

Bohemian is the fourth novel in the Stone Masters Vampire series but it gives enough background information that it stands on its own. If you like sexy vampires, this is definitely a book for you.

Ingrid is a great main character. She’s headstrong, independent, a go-getter, and she breaks the rules only when necessary. She’s also madly in love with Jadeon, a vampire who wants her to stay away from him for her safety. The story is from Ingrid’s point of view and Vanessa Fewings does a good job of explaining her thought processes, giving you a good idea of why she does most of the things she does.

Bohemian keeps your interest from the first sentence and never slows down. I had trouble putting it down once I started it. The writing is easy to read and the story flows well. One thing that I did have trouble with was following who was talking during some of the conversations and I had to stop a few times to figure out who was saying what.

I definitely recommend Bohemian, especially if you like vampire stories with the element of everlasting love.

*I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest reivew *

4 stars

Ingrid is a detective not afraid to push the boundaries of the law to put the bad guy behind bars. Orpheus is the vampire who brands her to keep her safe when she unknowingly gets herself too deep in the underworld. Enter a hidden world of nightwalkers and missing persons where nothing is as it seems and once you're in there's no getting out.

Finally a great vampire book that isn't overly cliqued and flowery. Bohemian was a dark paced mystery with a good dose of romance. The story wasn't overly filled up with unnecessary details. Ingrid and Orpheus were unique and engrossing characters, well developed, and easy to relate to. The side characters can make or break a book and these certainly made it. The hierarchy of the nightwalkers and the world they lived in was interesting. It's hard to get more in depth without spoilers for the series but it's going on my recommendation list for all vampire lovers!

What an amazing series this has been and a very appropriate ending with Bohemian! I was blown away by the story. I relished reliving every bit of the characters lives and how each one suffered and yet stepped up and became something better someone stronger than they had ever been. Willing to take on the world to save what was sacred to them. Bohemian was no different learning how it all ended for Ingrid and Jadeon was truly poetic. I am in love with this series and can promise you it is one that I will read over again and again as it truly touches my soul. Vanessa Fewings has just found a spot on my shelf of favorites.

I don't have the words!!! Again, Vanessa Fewings has entranced me into her vampire world! To see it from a mortal perspective was interesting, yet comforting. Between the suspense and the heart pounding love scenes, this book took my breath away! To see Orpheus and Jadeon getting along, and both showing absolute love and protection for Ingrid was refreshing. If there were in fact a dark world of vampires, I would sure hope that these two are there. Well done!! I do hope that Jadeon and Ingrid's story is not over! I am thirsty for more!

5 LOVED IT STARS!!! I can't believe that this is the first I am reading of Vanessa Fewings. The way she writes and the life she brings to her characters transplants you into their world. As much as I am a fan of some of the new takes on vampires I have to say the classic old school version is a classic for a reason. I appreciated Ingrid's POV. I am honestly having a hard time reviewing because all I want to say is go get the entire series and start reading, you can thank me later. ~ Leslie

I received this book as a good reads first reads winner.
The plot was very good.
The characters were detailed.
The sexual scenes nice and more realistic
then most books I have read.
Ingrid was my favorite character she was independent
and headstrong and not a whiny heroine.
Thanks for the opportunity to read such a jewel.

Loved this book and sad there isn't another!

Plot spoilers alert.
The conclusion to the storyline is fraught with danger and intrigue which you would expect from the author.
Dominions progress, Orpheus' true character and the love of Ingrid all combine in a satisfying HEA.
The last chapter felt a little rushed and didn't answer some lingering questions, dare we hope for yet another instalment?
There are some sex scenes each of them appropriate and consensual. Mild elements of BDSM.
I can't quite forgive the ending for not providing full satisfaction, why be given a key if she is not permitted to use it? Why did the elders simply accept her? Why was the threat from the old guard eliminated by the apprehension of one monk? There are other questions but I can honestly say I have really enjoyed the series despite some historical and occasional grammatical errors. The series badly needs a good editor.

If you had a chance at immortality, would you take it? This is a recurring question throughout The Stone Masters Vampire Series. In the fourth (and best) installment, Bohemian, author Vanessa Fewings poses the question once more. Inspector Ingrid Jansen who was introduced in the third book, A Vampire's Dominion, makes it clear that it's not easy being in love with a man who is a vampire and it is even more difficult being in love with a man who is the equivalent of a vampire king.

"Dominion, the title Jadeon now held having been destined to since birth, decreed to reign over the immortals and keep order. The very position I'd helped him secure and the one that now ironically kept us apart."

More than anything Ingrid desires a normal relationship with Jadeon Artimas who has transitioned from being the son of a man who dedicated his life to annihilating vampires to being the most powerful vampire on earth.

"It was the kind of relationship I coveted. One where you've been together so long you finish each other's sentences, fulfill each other's needs, and where you get to curl up in bed together at the end of a long day."

In her role as one of Scotland Yard's finest, Ingrid is called upon to investigate Lord Rupert Hauville, a possible counterfeiter, but in the course of her investigation she discovers there may be a more sinister element to the crime linking Hauville to the vampire world. Thus begins a complex plot which takes Ingrid back to a world of people and places she thought she'd left behind.
As with all the Stone Masters books, Bohemian reads a bit like a Comedy Noir. Even though there is a lot of serious vampire business going on, there are also characters who are downright comedic...enter the lovable Paradom, an enormous bat-like creature, who hangs from chandeliers and eats cat food.

"An enormous bat-like creature hung upside-down from the chandelier, his wrinkled face human enough, but not his leathery flesh or widespread wings. He peered down at me with curiosity, his black beady eyes locked on mine."

Then there is Orpheus who achieves immortality in A Vampire's Rise only to find himself in a unique union with Jadeon in A Vampire's Reckoning and A Vampire's Dominion. Orpheus is gifted with a wry sense of humor that belies a long and often violent tenure as an immortal.

"I was out of control. I was wreaking havoc. Jadeon stopped me in my tracks...For someone over four-hundred years old and stuck in my ways this is a small miracle."

When I accepted the challenge to review Bohemian even though I had not read any of the previous books in the series, I took the opportunity to read all of the books preceding Bohemian prior to my review. Whether or not this is fair, I don't know, but it gave me a unique perspective on Vanessa Fewings' growth as an author and I must say she exceeded my expectations. The author's vampires are old school. For fans of other vampire series, these will be more in the mold of Anne Rice and Bram Stoker rather than J. R. Ward. These immortals have a preternatural beauty, they read thoughts, they don't age, they don't need to eat...although the prospect of eternal life without chocolate definitely gives me pause.
Bohemian ends with a rather shocking climax and because I read all of the series within a brief time span, I can see that the previous books have been pointing to this very climax. I, for one, am anxious to see where the creative mind of Vanessa Fewings will take her readers in the next book of the series.

Bohemian is the fourth book in author Vanessa Fewings’ Stone Master Vampire Series, and admittedly the first in the series that I have read. Clearly I have been missing out because this is a beautifully written book and I must add the entire series to my reading list.

Scotland Yard Inspector Ingrid Jansen is put on the case of a woman abducted from the streets of London. She has no idea at the time that this case will lead her back into the world of immortals, a world she must keep hidden from her fellow detectives on the case. A world she was ordered to stay far away from by her former vampire lover and head of the vampire society. Easier said than done when Ingrid realizes that the missing woman is part of that immortal world. Ingrid finds herself caught up in more than just the mystery of a missing person when the vampires she is trying to leave behind show up on her doorstep. She is suddenly caught up in mystery and deceit and at one point has no idea who she can trust anymore. Can she trust the vampire love she has been trying in vain to forget about? Or maybe the vampire enemy that seems to be changing his ways? Or should she trust the legendary instinct that has gotten her this far in her career? Uncertainty has never held such a high price….the life of a missing person is at stake.

This, to me, was a refreshing change of pace in that it was a mystery with some fantastic suspense and the added beauty of the classic vampire. What I mean by that is that the vampires in this book are eloquent, members of high society, stunningly beautiful and remain hidden from the mortal world. They have a lot of the traits that make up the “original” vampire and it was nice to get back to those roots….not being able to go out into the daylight as just one of those traits. What was also enjoyable was the fact that even though it is the fourth book in a series I have not read, I was not lost while reading. Relationships and background information was explained with just enough information to keep me up to speed without going into too much detail and diluting the story. The mystery piece of the story was done really well and had me guessing until the very end, which I didn’t see coming at all. Ingrid was a likable gal with a good head on her shoulders and reacted to situations in a very natural way. I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for her and her vampire love, Jadeon. In this book they have reached quite a turning point in their relationship and it was a treat to read.

The Stone Master Vampire Series is a vampire series worth checking out if you haven’t already and a vampire series I am looking forward to reading more from! Thank you, Vanessa, for a beautifully written, suspenseful, mysterious story!

OK Guys first Happy Halloween, This series is prefect for today or any day. I LOVE it. Ok first warning - I have sticky tape on my mouth, so I DONT tell you too much- this book(and the series) IS THAT GOOD.

Ok what can I tell you..................................................................................................
OK, Ingrid Jansen, is in love with Dominion- king/ruler- Jadeon Artimas, they have a history but in order to protect her he's left.
Ingrid is a Detective, in Scotland yard, and is working on a case to do with Hauville, which they first thought was a counterfeit/drugs case until they find a picture of a girl on his computer of a girl in shackles, she has a mark on her arm of a vampires servant, but she been drug and Ingrid has to find her, going to all the secret underground haunts she knows off, secretly hoping she'll bump into Jadeon. With the help of Anais -another vampire- she takes her to the elders where Jadeon will be. Is this what Ingrid wants.........

Wow!! I really love this book..
The concept is awesome!!
I love the characters and they re easy to love and like.

The story, I love how he complexity of the story was.The mystery of the case Ingrid holds really got me hooked. And the way it was created is really good.. The characters, I love Ingrids' strong character and will. She is one of , my favorite characters in the book. Jadeon, a sexy powerful vampire rocked my world.I also loved him, he is sometimes stubborn but yet he still easy to love. Orpheus on the other hand, I learned to love this guy.. He may be sometimes a provoking Ingrid but I love how he grows on me and the way his personality was created it's kind of in a bad-ass way.On how the story ended, I loved it!! From the start up to the last, this book really got me hooked and addicted.

Ms. Vanessa did a really good job writing this book!! It's worth reading and you will definitely love not only the story but also the characters.

Absolutely in love with this series! I love everything about it! The characters the stories the pace... everything! That being said, this book was my least favorite of the series so far. I don't know what it was about this book it didn't seem as deep as the others or as rich... it was still a great story and the mystery of it had me guessing up til the end but this book did not grip me as tightly as the others in the series.
