The Devil's Own #1

One Hundred & Thirty-Six Scars

Rate this book
Meadow
I was four years old when I learnt what evilness the world could bring. I fought through life with my scarred soul, wrangled through the dark empty nights where I’d pray I didn’t wake up the next morning. I would shut my eyes and mentally take myself to my happy place.
Red roses
The sound of waves crashing on the sand under my feet.

The final time the cold blade pushed up against my thigh, and I waited for my blood to trickle over the other One hundred and thirty-six scars that covered my skin— never came. Who was this man who just saved me? He had no idea how close I came to ending myself that day. I was ready to blow my brains all over the bedroom walls and I had a nine sitting under my pillow to prove it.

Beast
Some people have families, I had engineered human killing machines surrounding me my whole life. I’d been a part of this unit since I was a baby, raised in a community that was shut off from the real world. A community where we were nothing but empty vessels, until Hella (my best friend) and I escaped. Hella took us to a girl who was in foster care with him before he was summoned into The Army. After finding out yet another complication in my life, I needed space. I booked in to a run down apartment, ready to clear my head. Only my head didn’t clear, because I was haunted every night from the screams that would vibrate through my walls.

This is not a story of a perfect man coming in to save the day. This is a story of what happens when fate interferes and two completely broken souls collide.

When I picked up this book, I was looking for a raw, gritty, and dark read. Although 'One Hundred & Thirty-Six Scars' did have some dark content, it was primarily in the characters' pasts. While that was certainly a big part of who they were, as a whole, this book wasn't as dark as I'd hoped for.

Beast was raised by a secret organization called "The Army". He never knew tenderness or kindness. He was trained to be an assassin from an early age and everything in his life revolved around his training and the next mission.

Despite never having experienced life on the outside, Beast somehow knows that it is better outside of the confines of the compound. He spends his youth trying to escape, bearing the scars as proof of his many attempts to free himself. Despite the brutal punishments, he never quits trying.

One day, he is successful. Along with his best friend, Hella, he manages to escape. The two go into hiding, with the help of a girl that Hella once knew from his childhood in foster care.

When Beast is recognized, it sets off a chain of events that will change his future. He meets the father that he never knew existed and is given the answers he's always wanted about how he came to be in The Army. Immediately, he is taken in by the father that didn't know he was alive.

Taking an apartment in a bad neighborhood while he tries to figure out his next steps, Beast is overcome by an urge to protect the girl next door. He hears her cries at night, until one day he has heard enough. He busts into the apartment next door and puts an end to the girl's suffering.

When Beast saved Meadow, she was overwhelmed with gratitude for the huge stranger. Molested by her father from the age of four, she had finally decided to end her life. One last time and he would never hurt her again...and then, Beast saved her.

After barging in and saving the day, Meadow doesn't hear from Beast. The two go their separate ways. Then, years later their paths cross again.

This time around, their attraction is instantaneous. From that point forward, things fell together rather easily for these two. In fact, it was too easy. There were none of the highs and lows that you'd expect. I needed a little more angst to hold my interest.

Overall, this story ended up being pretty good, but not great. The writing needed some work, but it wasn't the worst I've read by a long shot. Contradictory, nonsensical phrases like "gently but roughly" and "shallow deep breaths" seemed to be a calling card for this author and left me scratching my head. There seemed to be a lack of attention to detail in the editing of this book, but I've read far worse.

That being said, it was still a pretty good book. Even though I wasn't overly impressed with this first book, it did leave me very curious about the supporting characters. The author did a great job of paving the way for their stories and making me want to read their stories, even as I was nonplussed with the story I was reading. That takes some talent. I will be continuing the series. I only hope that the writing will improve as the series progresses.

From the point that the main characters re-enter each others' lives as adults, it was pretty smooth sailing. In fact, I was taken aback at how quickly the two fell in love and how little drama there was surrounding their relationship. It was almost "too perfect". In that way, it was surprising, but also just too easy to swallow.

This was just an ok read for me. I had several complaints that I wasn’t able to overlook this time..
First of all, I felt this book was in need of editing. There were mistakes in some scenes with details... an example is one minute the heroine was said to have taken her bra of, then the next paragraph the hero was said to be playing with her bra while it was on her.... but the author had already written it was off... This issue came up more than a few times, as well as grammar errors.
The first half of the story I felt had way too many characters introduced that I just got confused. Could be I’m simple minded but I find it difficult to keep track when there are a whole bunch of characters and details given all at once.

All in all, this was a disappointment to me, but I still may give the second instalment a try as I’m hoping that once the series progresses it might get better!

This book had such potential, but it fell seriously short. I wanted to DNF this one at about 30%, but I pushed through, then at 61% I was seriously struggling.
Am I the only one that noticed that Beast's agent name throughout the book is Agent 316 but on the cover of the book it's shows the tattooed number on his neck is 136?
Not good for the cover to be wrong. Just shows one of the many editing, and not paying attention to detail, mistakes in this book.

Here are a couple more.
"She follows, slipping the gloves on her hands. 'You have two weeks with me. You think you'll get enough information stored in my brain for that?' 'More than enough time,' I answered, intertwining my fingers with hers..."

Okay, neat trick when she just put on boxing gloves in the same paragraph!

"Both their bodies begin tumbling down the steps and I jump over them by gripping onto the railing before running up the rest of the stairs..."

Okay so were they falling *up* the stairs.. again, pretty neat trick.
The grammar a lot of the time was annoying. Switching between tenses sometimes within a single sentence.

We met a lot of characters in this book, most popping in for no reason, then disappearing without a trace or making no sense as to why they were even mentioned to begin with.

We had the MCs.. The Devil's Own Motorcycle Club, the Sinful Souls MC, (be consistent, either call it an "MC" or a "Motorcycle Club" when giving the names of the clubs), The Devil's Own, (or leave it off all together, that works too I guess), then we have The Army, the Russians... and even a rock group. Oh, and at one point, the Irish Republican Army is "mentioned".
If the author had just picked *one* of these to follow, it would have made things less... confusing. I don't even know what the point was of having the Russians in the story, not to mention the rock group. Too many side stories and none of them really tying into the story. There was so much that could have been done with The Army and the MC, but it all got so convoluted when you mixed in all the other organizations and people.

Beast, and other's that have been under The Army's training, are described as "engineered human killing machines". He escapes with his best friend, Hella, then the coincidences started. Just gonna leave it there, as it would contain spoilers. But Beast's transition from The Army to the President of an MC would have been better (smoother) if we'd known how he made that transition. It just seemed like, "oh, I finally escaped with my life. Oh look! I'm now the *President* of an MC."
Don't get me wrong, I liked Beast, I just feel that his character wasn't explained to it's full potential, too much was left out. And at one point in the book, I just didn't feel like he was the badass biker anymore. His whole character just deflated.

Meadow, I liked her too. I liked that fact that she didn't let what happened to her define the rest of her life.

Beast and Meadow, the are the only reason this is a 1.3 star read, but still not enough to bump it up to a 2 star read.
And by the way, what's up with the fade to black sex scenes? It starts out and then at the start of the next page it's the next morning.

Other than the one (yes one), "Holy shit, I didn't see that coming" moment, I felt like I was reading a YA book instead of something that should have been "Dark Romance". The characters conversations a lot of the time felt like something you'd hear around a high school cafeteria. Just didn't make me believe them.

From the opening of the blurb we see, "SO CONSUMING, SO RAW, SO DARK, SO INTENSE, SO GRITTY, SOOOOOO EPIC!!". Raw? Dark? Intense? Gritty? Not really. Epic? Umm... No.

"This is what happens when fate interferes and two completely broken souls collide."

I feel literally drained from all my emotions...

I don't know what to say other than : I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT✨

This book was filled with passion and so much feelings

The connection between Beast and Meadow was so powerful that it was undeniable .

They are the absolute definition of soul mates with a bit of sexy motorbikes members in between .

“Every scar has its story.”

They both held their scars with pride , not as something to be ashamed of , but as a reminder that they are survivors .

I loved the idea of family they have between bikers . The respect and the trust they have in each other is so strong ...

At first I thought I would have find triggering some strong and messy scenes , but It wasn't . Instead I think I'm enjoying a little to much this crazy and violent environment ....

"My knight was darkness , and like fighting fire with fire— I fought darkness with darkness."

And the crazy sex scenes were absolutely something i looked forward in each chapter ;)

Their past intrigued me so much , in particular the one regarding Beast and Hella. I can't wait to find out more about that world in the next book...

"The girl who wants to dance with the devil"

I gave it absolutely 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'm heading straight for the next one!!!

I hope you'll enjoy it like I did !

(If you are triggered by vivid description of violent actions , or sensible regarding anything that is about blood maybe this series , or this author isn't for you )

Once again I'm blown away by Ms. Jones! I can't wait for the next book to release!!

 photo image_zpswhgiyn8m.jpeg
Thank you Amo Jones!!

Two broken souls brought together by fate under horrible circumstances....
 photo image_zpsegs1t7gs.jpeg

Beast is the President of The Devil's Own MC. He lives his life being there for his brothers while trying to stay alive as his past hunts him down. Beast was born into a corrupt psychotic cult called The Army. They trained him early on to be a lethal killing machine. They tortured and drugged him and anytime Beast would attempt to escape they would chain him up, slice him up, push drugs through him and beat him senseless. He doesn't even have a name :( he just knows what they called him; Beast or 316.

Meadow is a lost soul with dark secrets. She grew up with no mother and a disgusting asshole of a father who sexually abused her from 4 years old to 14. The day she decides to kill herself, Beast bust into her apartment and kills her father.

"The final time the cold blade pushed up against my thigh, and I waited for my blood to trickle over the other One hundred and thirty-six scars that covered my skin—never came. Who was this man who just saved me? He had no idea how close I came to ending myself that day. I loved this story...Beast and Meadow together were perfect. They met when Meadow was 14 and Beast was 21. In that brief moment when Beast storms into her house and saves her life, a connection is made between the both of them. Unfortunately it will be 7 years before either of them see each other again. When they do meet again, it's like time had never left. Beast takes Meadow back to Las Vegas with him because drama goes down and he's keeping her safe. During her stay, Beast helps Meadow find herself, he breaks away her shyness, and gives her the confidence she was lacking because of her POS dad. For everything Beast had endured and how robotic he was before Meadow, it was totally heart melting to see him handling her with care, being honest with his past and club issues, and giving her all his attention and affection. They really are a cute couple. Omg I love them!

The Army does come back and Beast and Hella(his best friend/VP/was with Beast in The Army) realize it's time to end them once and for all.

I don't want to go into any more detail because a lot of stuff goes down and it'll just spoil the book. All I'll say is I NEED THE NEXT BOOK!!! The end left me wanting more and on edge but I'm not sure it counts as a cliffhanger because Beast and Meadow are golden. Ugh you're just going have to READ it!!!

This was a fine start to another series by Amo Jones.

Beast and Meadow were great characters with tortured pasts and a tragic connection. I admired them both for their survival skills and perseverance. Side characters, such as Hella, gave the story its element of angst, which was notably lacking between the MCs. I actually liked that Beast and Meadow played no games and therefore lacked drama. It was refreshing, especially when compared to the shitstorm that was Hella and Melissa. Now that situation was absolutely ridiculous!

I loved getting to see the Sinful Souls MC once again. Zane, Ade, Blake and Alaina made an appearance!

I didn't like how so many pieces of the story were left unresolved. Someone blew up the SS clubhouse. Who? How? And what was done to make them pay? That's just one example of the many loose ends found in this book. Hopefully many of the answers will be found in the books to come.

ARC Kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book! I usually enjoy MC reads and this was so unique that it earned a special place in my heart.
Be prepared though. The book is raw, gritty and dark. If you are uncomfortable with dark themes, then this may not be your cup of tea.
This is the story of Beast & Meadow. They meet under hard circumstances and then later in life when Beast is the President of an MC.
Beast is a very raw character. I simply loved him.
Meadow is a woman bent but not broken. I found her a very brave heroine.
I do not want to give away any spoilers but I will say that is a very complex story. I loved every character and this has to be one of my favorite reads of 2016 so far.
It has everything I ask in a book.
Darkness & passion.
Good characters and unique storyline.
The author does an amazing job handling delicate themes and I simply loved how she developed the story. If you want something unique and utterly captivating, then this is the book for you.
I highly recommend it.

6 PLUS Stars, NOW this is a book that deserves so much more than 5 Stars

It's official, I am ADDICTED to Author Amo Jones' books!!!!!! I have just recently done a marathon on her other series and read this one today and HOLY WOW, it's THAT FANTASTIC!!!!

Beast and Meadow, OMG, I can't even begin to describe my feelings for the BOTH of them. I absolutely am in total and complete, love, lust, admiration, hell EVERYTHING about them, I LOVED!!!!

The heartache these two endured growing up and how they "found" one another and then re-connected was beautiful, powerful, emotional, it was written BRILLIANTLY and so sensitively as well, I applaud you Amo Jones.

This is a MUST READ, yes, it's dark and gritty but underneath it all was the making of the most purest of loves, wow, the love they held for each other was just magical and there are not enough words to convey my feelings on this book:)

I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in this series!!!! This author is fantastic, the writing is superb, the sex scenes are incredibly HOT, just everything from the writing, to the characters, to the plot, to the execution.....PERFECTION:)

I am a total fan and can't get enough of her stories!!!!!!

This installment was by far my favorite out of all of Amo's novels. I had been waiting for Meadow's story and even messaged Amo about it and so when I had gotten my grabby hands on it I had a lot of excitement and anticipation and it did not disappoint me!! I just LOVED the dynamic and beautiful yet dysfunctional relationship between Meadow and Beast. They are broken souls and get each other in ways that no one else could ever fathom or imagine. It's a beautiful thing seeing how after one fateful (and also tragic) encounter could link two souls together to a point where many years later they have never forgotten each other and still yearn for the other.

Ah, I could rave on and on about this book but I'll stop here. Seriously, my favorite, favorite novel by far from this writer thus far!! Hope to come across more!!

It's been a while I read my last MC book and I really missed them.
I liked that author kept Beast's and Meadow's relationship very simple. This was one smooth, simple and uncomplicated relationship. Despite that, it was intresting read with usual #MCisalwaysinwar drama.
What bothered me the most, is lack of details. Author missed some details which just didn't add up or some things were not explained enough; I am really disturbed by this kind of superficiality.

Well who doesn't love a huge alpha president? Beast is HOT!!! I really enjoyed this story and all the characters were great.
Meadow the h was badass after having a horrific childhood filled with abuse and was so close to ending it all when her huge white knight stepped in to save her from herself.
I am still a little confused by the organisation that Beast grew up in and thought it was needing a little more story at times.
As it stands it was an enjoyable read and a good way to start a series.

One Hundred Thirty Six Scars
Amo Jones
4 stars

Holy junk – do NOT click this book if you have triggers from sexual abuse or violence and torture.
A young girl, just a baby in fact, four years old is being tortured by her father. Her teacher is shocked at the drawing she presented in celebration of Fathers Day. One hundred thirty six scars – one hundred and thirty six times her father has assaulted her. She wears each one drifting off to a different place when he comes for her.

Agent 316 is trying to escape again. Beast is not a part of the military we all know. He was taken from his mother who unknowingly gave him to the devil. He is trained to kill, obey and not break any of the six commandments set out by his commanders. This time Beast does get out and finds himself a member of the Devils Own MC. The men he fled from are looking for him but he stays hidden to some extent and he will survive but what he cant get out of his head is the cries of a young girl and its time to help her.

Years later, Beast is the President of the MC along with his best friend and VP Hella. Hella also fled The Army at the same time Beast did. They have trouble and that trouble leads Beast to Meadow. Only then does he feel her one hundred thirty six scars with his own hands. He will protect her with his life. He did it once not knowing her but this time is different.

This is a tough read. There is a lot to the story and a lot going on as you move through several years. You need time to wrap your brain around everything that is going on. I did have to read some pages a few times in order to keep things straight but that wasn’t a bad thing. The story is so deeply written in order to remember why things were happening I had to concentrate on what had happened all those years ago.

If you like very dark books this one is for you. There is only one really rough part concerning Meadow and her father’s abuse but reading her emotional torment is heartbreaking. Meadow’s character is broken just right for lack of a better term as is Beast. The other issue for me is that I didn’t really understand the end. I wouldn’t say it’s a cliffhanger but something isn’t right and Im anxious to see what’s next.

Thank you Amo for the ARC. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

I was so excited to start this book, but in the end, I was just underwhelmed. Firstly, I felt like I jumped into the middle of a series and didn't know most of the characters' back stories (which I hate). Then there were just too many things that happened way too easily or that didn't make sense. I was so mad at the sex scene. Most would have a lot of build up and then cut to, 'after we made love, the next morning...' WHAT???? I demand details damnit.

What I did like was that Beast saved Meadow from a horrible situation and she became a stronger person after, instead of letting the abuse destroy her.

41/2 Beast Stars ✨

I didn't expect this one to be more tamer than her other books yet it still holds that slight grittiness to the story but not OTT however I do love the interactions between Beast and Meadow and if you have some hot bad boy bikers that connects just makes it more enjoyable but if you have the crazy friends like Hella and Melissa well, I'm onto them now.

I always enjoy this author, she writes very addictive.
At times I get irritated because it sound and feels just over the top and a bit exagerated..
Otherwise I adore her stories they keep my mind busy..
Even tough I didn't get a realistic feel of this story I truly liked and enjoyed it! I already bought the second one and a bit scared to start it actually..

What I didn't get was do people really make hot cocoa with boiling water? That's like a shock for me! We make milk warm with cocoa, so I was really surprised to read that.

Amo Jones, you sexy beast, why oh why are you trying to KILL ME?! Congrats, you are dubbed forevermore #EVILWHORE! Meadow's childhood is the thing nightmares are made of. By the time she's 16, she has One Hundred & Thirty Six Scars, and she decides she's had enough, so she plans to end it all. Beast doesn't know who his parents are. All he knows is that he's part of a secret organization that is making him into a killer, and he wants out. However, the only way out is in a a body bag. He and his buddy , Hella, escape to Hella's foster sister, where Beast learns a shocking discovery that sends him running to a place where he can temporarily think about things. The crappy place he lands, doesn't give him the quiet he so desperately desires, as he keeps hearing screaming through the walls. He comes upon a scene soon after that sets him off and he rescues a girl. Afterwards, he disappears, and Meadow doesn't know what happened to him. Years later, fate steps in to bring them back face to face. Will they overcome their pasts for a shot for the future?

This story brought me to my knees, then ripped my heart out and stomped it into One Hundred & Thirty Six pieces. The character development is fantastic, with brilliant secondaries that I can't wait to read about. HOLY FAN GIRL BATMAN, I CANNOT get enough of this author's books. Yeah, I'm gushing a bit, but this fast paced, intense, and extremely well written storyline that flows effortlessly is EPIC. Amo Jones has a brilliant writing style that turns me into an emotional girly girl from the beginning, on top of keeping my heart in her grip. Combustible chemistry is felt through my kindle, and finally goes up in fiery flames of sexy scene goodness. Twists & turns swirled everywhere, all leading to a big OMG moment that I never saw coming, while well placed humor is sprinkled in between the heavy moments to give me a break to breathe and laugh. Don't just take my word for it, read the book so you, too, will HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND like I am!

This book wasn't as dark as the other books i have read by Amo but it was something else. There are some triggers in this book and what Meadow went through was freaking terrible. She is a strong heroine and so very sweet to the ones she trust. Beast bless his crazy heart. He was brought up in a world where basically they turn him into a machine not a human but he got away with his best friends. I loved that he ended up in a MC and I can't wait to read about the other characters especially Hella( yall he is crazy). All in all this was a good read and great start to a series.

This read is dark, gritty, and freaking fabulous!! I love reading a hard dark romance with hot anti-hero’s. And a story which includes hot MC members. The author does an amazing job of making sure we get a glimpse of the other characters for the upcoming installment. With so much hotness bouncing off the pages I am eager to continue the series. No cliffhanger but you know who the next book is about which I am diving into now. The characters banter is so awesome. I was able to feel and understand each personality. A must read!! Oh and this author does not hold back during the hot sex scenes. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Review:
“His stare darkens, summoning a collection of lust to come rushing up from between my thighs before resting in my chest where it contracts tightly. He’s hot, it’s ridiculous. He’s all man, though. He’s not pretty, he’s strikingly handsome with an edge of danger.”

5 scarred stars!! This book is gritty, intense, and full of emotion!

Meadow and Beast… Ugh I don’t even know where to begin with these two!! Their story is powerful, emotional and intense! If you are looking for hearts, flowers and everything pretty, you’ve got the wrong book! This book will punch you in the gut while reading and you’ll be left gasping for air! OMG, OMG!!! I just loved this book and I love the writing style of Amo Jones and the passion that she pours into her stories, I felt every word and it was just a fantastic emotional and heart wrenching.

This story starts out in the worst possible way but slowly and surely it builds into a healing journey and discovering your true soul mate and the person that heals you. Beast and Meadow were awesome in this book but also the supporting cast just blew me away and I can't wait for this journey to continue.

The great thing is that past characters from other books and series appear so you get to know what happens with them. I find this aspect of the story telling brilliant.

I recommend this book, author and series completely. She is a must read author for me and is fast becoming a go to Immediate read.

Beast and Meadow are not like any couple you'll ever read. They are extremely unconventional. Amo did a great job of tying her series together in this book almost seamlessly. Be aware though, you will get more from this book if you read the other first. You don't miss a lot, but I think so things are made clearer if you do. That was one of my favorite things. Also, the fact that there are so many wonderful secondary characters in this book that she could go in so many different directions with them. Meadow and Beast are super hot together though. They are soulmates from the beginning and Amo takes you through their crazy journey. Great start to this new series.

I can honestly say that every single book I read by Amo keeps getting better and better. I absolutely LOVED this story, it was so captivating and had me hooked from the very beginning.

The book is exactly what I love to read in a story and shows the characters, flaws and all, are not by any means perfect and that is what makes you so invested in the story and NEEDING to find out what happens.

I couldn't put this book down, and even went straight ahead and read HELLRAISER before I could stop to write this review.

I definite must read!!!!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

When Beast & Meadow collide the sparks fly! These two damaged souls come together in the middle of a war with a rival MC, the Russians and The Army... dark, powerful and an intense read that I would highly recommend to anyone who likes their MC reads a little more on the darker side.

This was my first read from Amo Jones and I really enjoyed it, I will be sure to check out her other books. Now it seems this is the first book in a spin off from Amo's Sinful Souls MC series, as the SS appear in this book. From what I read about them in 136 Scars though, I wasn't lost on anything, so I don't think it's essential you read them before reading this one.

Beast was brought up from birth to be a soldier. Not the nice, serve your country, Army type soldier, but the 'you will kill or be killed', mind control Army that no one even knows about. Eventually, after many attempts, he escapes with his best friend Hella.

Meadow was abused from a young age by someone who should have done nothing but care, love and protect her. Scarring her every time he committed the ultimate sin, Meadow's body now has 136 Scars. The night scar number 137 is attempted is the night Beast rescues her, getting rid of her abuser and Meadow's life gets to begin.

136 Scars from here, skips forward a couple of times, eventually stopping at about 8-10 years later, and both Beast and Meadow have spent those years thinking about the other; her the Hero who saved her life, him the broken, battered girl with eyes that bore deep into his soul.

It was nice doing the little jumps in time I think; they were kept short, as a little catch up so to speak, but it was still noted how each character was thinking of the other. I liked that, and got you routing for them, before they were even reunited.

Once they did meet again, at a Sinful Souls MC get together, they recognised each other instantly, and from there we got a story that included romance, drama, action (this is an MC novel after all), and we got to meet the other members of The Devil's Own MC, Las Vegas chapter.

I enjoyed this a lot, I'm eager to see what the author plans for Hella because wow, he was a bit of an arse in this one. I'll be keeping up with this series for sure, and I'll more than likely go back and read the Sinful Souls books too. I give 136 Scars 4.5 stars.

“Every scar has its story.”

This is the first book I've read from this author, definitely will not be my last. I'm not a huge MC reader. I'm rather picky, actually. But I loved this one. I was hooked from the start, every free chance I got, I was devouring the pages. I'd label this as Romantic Suspense. There's a bit of darkness, especially in the beginning, things taper down in the middle, then action and darkness to conclude the book.

The story is rather difficult in the beginning, the story is told from different perspectives, giving us the set-up for a complicated plot. Not only is this MC, there's a lot more to the story. A secret 'Army' training center. Yeah, I love stuff like that, it hooks me every time. Beast and Meadow meet in a very dark way, it seems they were destined. The story is about them, but I think more so about what's chasing them. Dangerous men coming out the woodwork. I never knew which road we would be riding on, but I was thrilled with every turn.

"My knight was darkness , and like fighting fire with fire— I fought darkness with darkness."

Omg!!!! Okay, I absolutely loved the characters. Every.Single.One. I think Beast turned a bit soft within the book, but it was only toward Meadow. I think I loved it, usually I like my men mean. There was just something about his softness that I couldn't resist. I'll be straight with you, there's a ton of characters introduced in this book. I want a story for every single one. The author added in something special for each character, a hook so to speak. Give me Hella, Hannibal, and Ripper's story please. Do I have to beg? I want Hannibal, like yesterday.

If you are a fan of MC books, I'd snatch this one up. A fast-paced, dark, thrilling ride from start to finish. Never once was a bored, this story takes you on the back of its motorcycle and doesn't let you off.

OMG and WOW... This was a fantastic book!!! The first few chapters fill you in on both characters background and bloody hell, how they both came through what they both suffered and turned into such amazing people... Amazing!!! I know some will say "It's only a book" but to that i will say YES but its written with such emotion and passion that reading the pages, i truly could feel every word and emotion to the point i felt part of the actual book!!!
Meadow has a past that is devastating and heart wrenching, not going to give away any spoilers, but i will say you will need a box of tissues when you find out and probably a punch bag for the other character! Her knight in shining darkness, literally saves her life and gives her the chance to live!!!
Beast was taken at birth and spent his whole life being trained to be a killer by the organisation! The only thing is, no matter what they done to him, they couldn't compleately blacken his heart!!!
The book then skips a few years and with them both attending a mutal friends funeral, after 7 years apart, their eyes meet and you can feel the energy straight away!!!
With all the other things happening in the MC and a huge plot twists, their relationship grows from strength to strength and together they will fight for each other, to the death if needed!!!
This was one hell of a deep and dark story and will have you hooked from the first page! The characters were perfect for each other and i cant really put it clear enough into words as to how much i loved this book and i'm excited to find out what Amo has planned for the next in series with such a mind blowing ending!!!

We first meet Meadow when she is four years old and in class she was asked to draw a picture of her dad. We meet Beast while he is trying to escape. Meadow is always being made fun of at school, her father is a very bad man. She knows to not plead with her father to get him to stop because he wont. Beast can hear the crying and screaming coming from the apartment next to his. Meadow went to New York and meets Phoebe and they become very good friends. Meadow and Beast meet again in Westbeach, California.

Meadow doesn't like her father, she took self defence classes and how to shoot arrows. She works with kids. Beast doesn't know who his parents are, Agent 316. He is in the Genetic version of the Army. Hella is Beast's friend, he is also part of the Genetic Army. Jada is Hella and Beast's friend. She is part of the Genetic version of the Army. Phoebe is Meadow's friend, she is from Westbeach, She is the first person that Meadow could confide in. She was raised in a motorcycle club. Melissa is Phoebe's friend, Meadow's friend, she own's a bakery. She has a stubborn streak and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Kurr is the Sergeant Major of the operation. Brian is the second chief of the opertion.

This is my first book by Amo Jones and it wont be my last. This book is very well written, it draws you in from the first page. The characters in this story are very well developed. I felt very connected to the characters. This is the first book in The Devils Own MC.

ERIN'S REVIEW

This story was raw and intense. It is very compelling and has a lot going on. Meadow is a woman troubled by her very emotionally and physically scarring past. I cried so much for this girl/woman and all that she endured and lost. She has a few close friends but stays away from men. All men. No relationships ever. Until Beast. Beast is a man that has finally broken away from the h*ll he was in and found family in the MC. He becomes the man he was always meant to be. Beast is definitely a fitting name. He could be MY Beast any time! Beast and Meadow meet under dire circumstances and lose touch for many years. When they finally meet again, the connection is immediate. The chemistry is mind-blowing. These two have definitely had their share of pain and suffering. In each other, they find their solace and peace. There was so much detail and description in this story. There was also drama coming from all directions. This story will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat needing to know what happens next. I loved this story and hope that Hella gets his HEA next!

I honestly don't know where the heck I've been all this time that I never knew this f*cking series existed til Caro sent it to me. But holy crap is this book soul consuming. The f*cking blurb got me right away, the first page destroyed me and the whole book annihilated me. I don't even know where to begin. I just finished the Sinful Soul MC series and I thought it couldn't get better. But once again, Amo has created another pair of perfect, alpha bikers that do wonderful things to my libido and sassy, bad-ass heroines, equal to their bikers in every way. Beast had me shivering all over the damn place in pleasure, because holy shitake mushrooms was that man sexy as f*ck. They don't call him Beast for nothing, if you catch my drift. I just wanted to reach through the screen and rub myself all over him, I'm not ashamed to admit there would have been some dry-humping haha. Beast and Meadow were perfect. I swear, every pair just gets better and better and when I think it can't, IT BLOODY WELL DOES. Amazing book!
