Okay, while I am NOT fond of the forced plot point thrown in for dramatic purposes that was FUCKING UNNECESSARY, I did LOVE Itsuki's character development really shining. I have been saying this for many reviews now and I'll keep saying it, this series' strong point is the development and relationship of the quintuplets. Yes, Futaro is the common denominator for spurring their growth, but they grow the most through their interactions with each other. Itsuki's been slowly growing throughout the series but hasn't really had a moment to shine, but Haruba changed that in this volume. A shame it came from a carelessly and unnecessarily shoehorned in plot point, but I'll take it.
That being said, the drama is ratcheting up to incredible heights and the stellar artwork sells that drama. I am so proud of how far all of these characters have come and while I know a lot of hearts are going to be broken, I'm excited to see how these quirky quintuplets get through it. Their bonds as sisters has been the highlight of this series and I can't wait to see how the big reveal impacts these five young ladies.
It happened. It took nearly 14 volumes.. but Futaro has made his decision. The wait, the mystery- it's all over. He did it. My boy did it!! I didn't expect to be this excited for him. Or satisfied, for that matter. But I am. Futaro made the right choice after all.
Of course, I feel sad for a couple of the sisters. Not Ichika though. I'm glad she lost. For everyone else it's bittersweet to know their feelings have been crushed. However, they all knew the risk when they all decided to fight for him. They all knew there could only be one winner. And, damn it, she deserved that win.
Oh, also there's some melodrama about the sisters' biological father returning or whatever.. It didn't matter much to me except for the fact that he tried to say biological connections are more important than found family. And that's a load of barnacles! But on the other hand, the girls' adoptive father is also terrible so he's not fully wrong in this instance. Every man sucks here.
Most of it was average but that ending had me soaring.
She was one of two I was convinced it would be early on. Choosing her made the most sense, at least to me. The dads come together at the festival. Yes, all THREE. Waaaaaa? Who's the noob? Wow, revelations are made! And a once-in-a-lifetime appearance by bio-dad! This and food, kissing, & fire! Wow, when Futaro walked in to her, I gasped, & cried a little, tears of joy. She deserves it more than anyone. What an emotional rollercoaster ride this has been. Especially the last couple volumes. Now on to the final volume. Here come the wedding belles!!! Art, just amazing. Dialogue, so emotional. Characters, beloved. Simply fantastic.
This series does not need to be this good. It doesn’t. Ending it with a freaking Rashomon-esque school festival is one thing, but the freaking Itsuki ending is absolutely masterful refusal to give in to genre trips (I assume, I don’t read these that often…)
I’m not saying the last bit with the girls made me cry but two of them hugging gif me close. The depth given to these characters, their inner lives and thoughts.
The father story arc felt out of place and forced. The character building was solid though and the ending was very nice. I enjoy all the perspectives and points of view from the festival. Also, the quints have really been fleshed out and their relationships among themselves has been a better strength to the series than that with Futaro. One more volume to go. I really hope they stick the landing.
Well here it is, it looks like the big decision has been made right at the end of the volume, and quite frankly I'm not surprised. No spoilers but let's say I narrowed it down to two and the one he picked is the one I had higher than the other girl..... am I pleased not massively but I can see why it's turned out this way
Still such a good volume, the emotion hit each time and such a lovely build up.
I have to admit that, even though Haruba’s writing style doesn’t always work for me, he knows how to build a slow burn leading to a shocking cliff hanger. However, I really wish that he had development more(and better) how the quintuplets deal with being quintuplets. Because the implications are hinted at the beginning but never becomes a real plot. Which is a bummer due to how satisfying the(sort of) conclusion given to this plot thread is.
Once again, I enjoyed this volume a lot! Not as much as the previous one, but it was still good. I love seeing the girls find their paths and learning more about their characters. I am so excited to read the final volume! Here we go!
CAWPILE: 7.79

Ewwwwwww. You can not throw in that gross old man at the end of a manga and expect it to be okay. Was their relationship that of a groomer and a groomed. Like he was her teacher and he got her pregnant and then ran off… yuckkkkkkkkk.
Also this was such a cop out ending. Like the girl he picks was essentially the most underdeveloped of the lot and was also the least shown member of the family. Like wtf, I genuinely thought it was going to be itskuki…
I really like these characters and this is a solid instalment, minus some ridiculously overwrought out of nowhere family drama.
However, it is a direct continuation of the previous volume so all my concerns and complaints remain the same. I will reevaluate my rating if this sticks the landing, but I continue to be wary of a bumpy landing for something that I think deserves a solid finale.
Itsuki faces confrontation for pursuing her mothers dream of becoming a teacher. She meets the man who claims to be her father and he discourages her from pursuing a teaching career. Mudo-sensei continues to push Itsuki's dream down until she stands up for herself and tells him she will perservere and become a teacher.

LOL
That plot point while…out for forced drama which is annoying…definitely made me love Itsuki even more.
Anyway! We got our final choice…isn’t who I have personally picked..maybe I am sad about it. However I can’t say I hate the choice either seeing how much sense it makes for Futaro. Hope this last volume shines
I love the way that this last chapter went and especially the cliffhanger. I also really wish that the girls’ biological father got more of a fearful experience, before he left, compared to what actually happened. I don’t like the guy and wish he would’ve gotten physically hurt.
A bit draggy, though I do like seeing each of the sisters experiences. I am looking forward to seeing the relationship grow between Futaro and... Plus, I am excited to see what both he and the quints choose to do in the future.
I enjoyed getting to see the different POV’s from the end of the festival. Also, another character was finally introduced and it was nice to clear things up. Brought out some emotions in the storyline. I enjoyed this volume, and the end of it was so good! Looking forward to the final volume!
I don't know what to say, as I don't think there are enough words in the vocabulary to give this volume any justice. Just..... wow. I'm so ready for the final volume.
My favorite of the quintuplets wasn't the final girl but I completely understand why the other one was "the one". Still, this was a very great volume. Super excited to see this animated!
Were in the endgame now, all the characters have been amazing so I'm ok with the decisions Haruba made for this story. Can't wait to see how it all wraps up in volume 14.
