Sera has won the competition and taken the diadem - the power of Darkness is hers. She’s now engaged to Camden, who she admires but has no strong feelings for. There’s also her feelings for her long time friend who is also king of the Unseelie.

After an attack on Sera’s life, she is taken from the Seelie court to hide in Unseelie under a glamour. She’s struggling with guilt for not breaking things off with Camden - she’s really in a trapped situation.

It hits me that I’m going to have to have the breakup conversation with Camden, sooner rather than later. I mean… I’ve always planned to do it. But now that I’ve kissed Bass and everything… I don’t know. I’m aware me and Camden’s engagement wasn’t my idea and that I never planned to go through with it, but I had started to develop feelings for the guy. He’s kind, smart, and sweet. Not to mention, I pretty much led him on right before leaving Seelie. I feel awful.

She’s also struggling with new powers that are hard to control - the Darkness.

Bass is just lovely in this one.

This is a great sequel if you’re wanting a light fantasy - but it’s not a standalone. Start with book 1.

Cliffhanger ending warning.

Annoyingly good read..

I say annoying because the mc acted like a brat. The constant temper tantrum after finding out her heritage, friends actions, and the yoyo romantic feelings she had got annoying. I ended up rolling my eyes at the mc. I did like the storyline and the other characters especially the two men who liked her. There was a lot of needless description of certain situations or background or of mc self dialogue that were not needed which ruined my enjoyment of the book. I hope the mc character's developed on her childish behavior of constantly being mad for not knowing anything about her parent, friends, and crush. Enjoyed the world that the author created and the hot main male leads though. Will read the next book since I like King Bass.

Main character is a doorknob

The main character is a door knob. In her mind she apparently wants independence and distance, but in action she does whatever the two love interests want. She makes none of her own decisions and leads on the two male love interests. So annoying. I was hoping for something more from this series. The premise was intriguing, but the main character allows everything to happen to her. It's also the case of beautiful, but "different" girl that has all the very attractive men flocking to her. Eye roll. I have the first book the benefit of the doubt as I was hoping she'd woman up and take charge. This second book not only didn't fix the door knob cliche problem, it's instead worse ten fold.

The opposite of girl power.

I wouldn't recommend. Had the main characters thoughts actually been put into action it would have been different and interesting.

Read first two books in a day

I’ve really enjoyed this series, thus far. Character development is great. The twists and turns have been interesting and exciting, all while managing to help the story progress. I’d def classify this as a “Slow burn” romance, which is almost a must for me to really connect with a story. Mind you, I met my husband on a Friday, we went out on our first date that Sat., & by Sunday we were crazy in love and have been inseparable ever since. So why I have hard time believing a “FB” romance is beyond me lol. I know it’s totally possible, yet a FBR gets on my nerves more often than not 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyway, def rec this series, and looking forward to the next book!! Enjoy 😊

Love this series! Book one was great and this one didn't disappoint either. More questions are answered in this book about Bass and Sera. I love the characters in this series. The chemistry amongst them all is spot on. Sera and Bass are great together but so are Sera and Camden. My heart is torn. This book pulled me in from page one and kept my interest throughout. I will definitely be looking forward to book 3.

A good follow-up to book one!

This was a pretty good continuation of the first book. It's good to see progress in the FMC. I've enjoyed that the FMC wasn't just given powers and suddenly "made for the position" like you sometimes see in other series. There is still a lot to be resolved in the next book, and even though there are some things I have been able to guess before it happens, I look forward to seeing where it goes.
I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this second book even more than the first. More secrets are revealed, suspicions are confirmed as new ones formulate, the connection between Bass and Sera is heating up, and The Darkness wants its Queen. After the ending of this one, I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

I really enjoyed this book. I had a hard time putting it down and would definitely read it again.
The characters were fun and the world is interesting. It’s not anything crazy special but it really drew me in and is entertaining.

Really short books. They weren’t bad, just wish the author had promoted these as more than just romance. They went in a completely different direction and that’s a good thing.

It's not a bad read.
But each book isn't long at all. It should have just been one book (like the 3 books)
Also it's pretty predictable.

I love this series! Sera won the competition for the diadem in book 1. Now she’s stuck in Seelie, and engaged to Prince Camden as per the contest rules. But she just wants to go back to the human world. Or does she really? I loved learning more about Bass in this book! He continues to be a favourite character of mine. I also really liked Vagar, Sera’s dark Fae guard. He won’t let any harm come to her! I’m dying to read the next book after that ending!

I received an ARC from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review.

WOW! This was absolutely amazing!
Sera wins the contest that Queen Aria made her participate in....at the cost of several lives of young human women.
Sera now becomes engaged to Camden but does she want to be engaged?
With the winning of the contest it has now made Sera a target for the dark fae...Vagar a dark fae is her guard and will stop anyone from hurting Sera even other dark fae...
We and Sera learn in this book who her parents are...which was quite the surprise..Sera has been through a lot....and by the way the story ended it looks like Sera is still in the thick of things...
Absolutely loved the story and can't wait for the next one.

Was given an ARC from Samantha Britt for an open and honest review...this is it

Marked by Darkness
Serafina has won the contest to retrieve the diadem. Many of the human girls kidnapped from Earth did not survive the contest. The Queen did not get her hands on the diadem. As per the contest rules she now finds that she is engaged to Prince Camden. But what about King Sebastian? Two handsome compelling men.
Sera only wants to go back to Earth and resume her life. It seems she is trapped in Seelie Fae Land. Be prepared for a journey of plot twists and turns. Sera finds out about her parents. This is a fast-paced page turner. We learn more about King Sebastian (Bass). Who will Serafina choose and why?
I could not put this book down. I simply must know how this end, please bring on the third and final book!

I am fangirling so hard over the ending of this book right now. Sera won the contest and now has to deal with an engagement she doesn't want and a target on her head because of her connection to The Darkness. The girl just wants to go home and return to her life. She finally finds out the truth about her past, and discovers something I did not see coming but am so excited to see play out. Loved seeing more of Bass in this one. He's definitely on the book boyfriend list. And that ending was so very epic. The next book is going to be so much fun.

***I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book.***

I loved the story it's very exciting and full of intrigue. Prince Camden and King Sebastian are amazing and I think I'm in love! I also enjoyed Vagar, a dark Fae who is Serafina's Guard. Darkest delight

I was so excited when I got the notice this sequel was available. I've been on pins and needles waiting to find out what happened next and this didn't disappoint! Detailed description allowed me to be there with her in the Seelie and unseelie courts. I'm a bit in love with both Camden and Sébastien. Both are toe curling hunks. I enjoyed the interactions between the characters and how each revelation came along as the story progressed. Now I've got to wait again but it will be worth it!

4.5 stars - I loved most of this (especially anything Bass) but the whole Camden thing just throws me a bit. Not enough to still enjoy the hell out of this though. Bring on the next one!
