Here's my review of book one of this delicious series. After all I don't want to give too much away 😉...

What a kick butt feast for the eyes!! Nothing better than a fierce, smart female who won't back down or take any guff from anyone else. Especially alpha male sadistic bullies and their sidekicks. Eden's life hasn't always been rough... Originally her family lived in suburbia UNTIL her dad vacated his position as husband/father and therefore losing their home and safety. Eden and her big sister Hope, along with their mum moved into a sketchy part of town while her mum numbed herself with anything that helped. As long as she had Hope, Eden would be fine. Until one day when Hope suddenly vanished without a trace. Eden did everything she could think of to uncover leads of her sisters whereabouts. Which leads us to Eden and three out the most powerful guys in her neighborhood ending up in a holding cell together hearing some person in a suit claim they can pass GO and go directly to a rich boarding school. Uh huh..sure, and what's the big shiny catch? Turns out some serious shady biz is going on in this boarding school. Nobody knows exactly what's happening, but the higher ups DO KNOW it's far from good. Crazy social scheming, bullying galore, secrets, lies and human chess moves are constantly happening. Who is friend or foe? Can these people lead Eden to her ultimate end game...Hope? The school itself also has crazy layers of secrecy within. Let's hope Eden and her friends succeed in unfurling many of those secrets, and possibly bring down a titan or two! Three cheers for Eden, I for one can't wait to see what happens NEXT!!! bring on book two 😊💗

5+ Stars. Yeah, non toxic alpha heroes, and actual strong, badass fmc , I am sold.

This book is soo f*cking amazing. Yeah I did expect it to be dark like the author's other books, but I am not complaining simply because how I loved and absolutely adored theis book. After the epic clusterf*ck of a series The Royals of Forsyth University (the first three) turned out to be, I needed a cleanse and ironically it came from the same author 😅
I won't lie, after the huge huge huge dissapointment Story turned out to be, with her thinking and forgiving simply because her vagina gushes for her abusers , I didn't hope much from this book, but I have never been happier to put my trust into the author's writing, since she did write the amazing Preston Prep series too.

Eden is strong and doesn't let her vajayjay decide her approach and decisions regarding K-boys. I loved how she asks for help and support without compromising her dignity. I mean yeah, it wouldn't have been easy if the K boys were not gentlemanly in areas that count. Man the thugs and gangsters are way more civil and moral than rich entitled pricks. However, I like to believe that Eden would have found better ways even if the K-boys turned out more as the Lords. I loved Hawk and Theo and how these alpha boys do their best to make themselves worthy for the fmc. I loved and adored goofy, social Gray. Dorian's protective, helpful kind nature made me admire and respect the guy. Not gonna lie Rochelle and her relation with Luke reminded me of the relationship between Story and the Lords.

The delivery was awesome, the story was gripping even though the sex scenes were more like fade to black and few. I guess ROFU wins atleast in that arena 🙄. I loved the character development and the side characters, only wished for the series to be bigger. Overall this series was splendid, amazing and too too too good. Definitely gonna re read it.❤️❤️

This book was definitely a breath of fresh air when it comes to highschool bully romance. I totally loved Female MC. She didn't do obvious dumb decisions. She followed hearth AND reason. She knew when to stand up for herself and when to ask for help. And K Boys.. They were all what girl would need in a guy. I like how the story talks about women empowerment and how they shouldn't cave under pressure of man. I like how it also show that 'easy way out' isn't always sooo 'easy' and it always comes at price. Wholeheartedly recommend this series.

I can’t quite place what it is about Angel Lawson’s stories that make them page-turners that I’m desperate to finish, but it was definitely present in this trilogy of reverse harem Academy romance.

This was a dark romance, with more mature themes and all the drama that often gets dumped into dark romance, but definitely not a bully romance. Her three boys are pretty damn protective and sweet from the get go, it’s just the other assholes at the school causing problems.

This is definitely the kind of book where you need to check your reality at the door. I felt like it made zero sense that Eden walked up to Hawk and punched him in the face, especially when they’re supposed to be undercover and pretending like they don’t know each other. But it is drama, and I guess I’m here for the drama.

As for the blue hair dye…if you have dark hair, blue hair dye is going to do next to nothing. Maybe a very slight blue tint, which is going to fade very quickly. And… a slight framed teenage girl who never works out can do 30 sit-ups and 20 push ups? LOL.

I’m also very confused by the lack of birth control. Usually, in other Angel Lawson books, it’s actually addressed that the main girl is taking birth control. In this story, Hawk has the decency to use a condom when the two of them first sleep together, but then…it seems like a whole bunch of spontaneous sex scenes happen with these teenagers and no one is using condoms? Dorian doesn’t even use a condom when he finally gets his chance with Eden. Again, I know these books are just for fun and sexy times, but since it was addressed in the other Lawson books I read, and it was mentioned the first time, it’s weird it was never mentioned again.

This book has a TON of typos, which was disappointing. Other reviewers have noted this, too. It would have been nice if Lawson could hire another line editor to go through this. It kind of feels disrespectful to potential readers who’ve spent money to deal with all the typos, when it’s clear the Forsythe U books have made Lawson a very successful author and I think she can afford another go at line edits.

I alternated between reading the ebook and listening to the audiobook. The male and female narrators were both great and the audiobook was enjoyable.

Play For Keeps

I gave this five stars because I really couldn’t put it down once I starter. It’s worth all the pain and angsty teen drama that goes on in bully romance. Though I think there should be a bit of a trigger warning for some of the books. They were pretty tame or just the side of dub-con for some scenes for my taste.
I kinda really did want the twist of the forbidden love to be cross all through the books. As well as the sorta hate against the villain to turn into more. (Swear I get like stalker turned lover/villain who is bad but only good for her vibes) Of course each book has its downs and ups to them, but I will say this. I kinda wish there was a book number 4 just to see how they do college life and how the relationship really bloom now that the ‘roof’ has finally been built. Trying not to spoil anything, but that reference you’ll understand once you read the books. Trust me it’s worth the curiosity your going through if you read this comment.

Love this author I go out of my way to read most of her books and some of her other series that she cowrites with. I will say this its almost slow slow - burn RH until book 3. But the suspense in book 2 gives it at-least three red hot chilies.

Okay because I did the audiobook version, all three books are in a set. I’m only reviewing book one, so spoilers are not revealed.

Really good book, a little more YA than I have done in a while. However, I truly enjoyed it. To be able to give high school age characters strength, grit, and sensual tension (few times give you a bit more sensual detail) is truly a sign of a good writer. Eden and the K-boys are facing what a lot of young adults face, hard choices at a young age leading to mistakes. Their mistakes lead to a threat of juvenile detention or a chance to change at an elite private school. But taking that option means becoming narcs against fellow students. Eden’s personal strength makes her a fantastic FMC. The “K-boys” have had such a rough take on life, they are their own version of a young gang.

I will say that in book 2 & book 3 the characters grow and mature in ways that take it out of just another YA dark story, into more adult romance. The book has some triggers, so be mindful of those. That said, I would recommend reading at the age of 16+.

4/⭐️ story ~ 2/🔥 good sexual tension ~ 4/🎧 good narrators.

Who needs sleep honestly? Lol, I had to break out an energy drink last night to start and finish this book.

If you are looking for the MAIN character's to have detailed sexual encounters you won't find it. Not a huge deal for most. Me I prefer to fine details about it, but the way the storyline is kept me drawn and obsessed with these books! I could go into so much about this book, and every amazing hard to swallow ( Pun there ;P ) topic it brings to light. I'm glutton for evil dudes so I still have a tiny bit of hope for Trip, but I don't think he will ever be redeemed. I also liked that our Heram didn't end up being the Rich guys...

5 stars for this great read.

It was nice to see strong FMC who stuck to her beliefs, and fought for what she wanted. Her characterisation, backstory and wants/wishes made her into a well thought-out character, and I couldn't wait to be able to keep reading her story. The MMC's were all individual, with their own quirks and nuances. They each filled a gap in the relationship, and again, were very strong in their beliefs and convictions.

The journey that Eden and her guys went through was such a good read, and definitely looking forward to reading more from this author.

side note: I forgot how catty and cliquey high school could be. Thank goodness I'm done with that stage of my life.

loved this series

I’m so glad I finally drove into this series.

Series overall rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 (rounding up)
Series overall spice 🌶️🌶️.75

Eden has been through it all and all she wants to is to keep her mom safe and find her sister.

The K-boys have always noticed Eden when she thought they didn’t know who she was and had something to do with her sister’s disappearance.

One thing leads to another and they all end up at the same bordering school for the troubled spoiled kids.

Hazing, bullying, “undercover” work, friendships, partying, and so much more occur.

I’m not gonna spoil anything but all I’ll say is I wish we had more of Mr. Miller 😉

Some surprises

I liked this series but definitely felt it was missing things at times. I do love that Eden gets her strength back in the last book. Some things don't make sense at times. Trip is evil incarnate. I love that Ro found her voice as well. The betrayal was redeemed and they became stronger as a group. Dorian is the steadfast pillar they all need. I was sad about Hope's story and was hoping for more for her. The graduation speech got me all tearful. Multiple POVs. More steam in the last book. Some difficult abuse situations. Hea.

Entertaining and edgy

****Sparrowood Academy by Angel Lawson:
Book1: starts out in a bad place, progresses to juvie, and an offer. Sparrowood (Elite) Academy. A place controlled by liars, cheats, manipulators and bullies. All the vices, with drugs, cheating, blackmail, abuse and assault. The K-boys and an alliance…..an unlikely group tasked to clean up this toxic academy. An entertaining and edgy story, with a good pace and likable characters. The ending felt a bit rushed….

This story was compelling and interesting to read. Well paced and had characters that were likeable and villains that were extremely vile. The whole “book(s)” (Apparently you can read this as one big book or three novellas) easily very much like a spiraling fanfiction. Was this published fanfiction? The plot was so so and the mystery and games kept it a decent story. It was ok. If you want something that is different and scratches the “prep school” niche if you want it.

Possible triggers for some, brilliant read

I chose this rating as I enjoyed the writing style. The different perspectives and understanding of each character. This story is dark in aspects, plenty of twists and some down right heart breaking scenarios. Maybe even possible triggers for others. Overall a very good read

Good book

I did find there was a lot of inconsistencies throughout the stories that wasn’t picked up while editing, like was there suppose to be an extra boy or something but I don’t know. Good series tho! The mc only got annoying a little during the second book for over it quickly!!

Worth It!

This was my first series by Angel Lawson and I must say it did not disappoint! This was an addictive read that I did not want to put down. Eden is a strong and fierce girl that can hold her own even when she has three strong guys behind her to back her up. I cannot wait to jump into her next series!

What more can you ask for. A forbidden counselor, three hot bad boys from your neighborhood and some rich pricks that think they can get away with anything. And of course one bad ass FMC that knocks them all on their ass one way or another!

Given that this is set in HS, I appreciated that it wasn't overly explicit. Decent characters and story though I wish the villain stubbed his toe every day for the rest of his crappy life and suffered diarrhoea at the same time

Decent read over all. Not my all time favorite but that’s due to personal preference of reading style not the work of the author.
