She was born into a legacy she wanted no part of and pushed into a battle recessed deep in the shadows of the night. Samantha Helsing is torn between two worlds...two allegiances...two families. The legacy of the Van Helsing family and their crusade against the "night creatures" comes to modern day with the most unlikely of all warriors. As Samantha Helsing must struggle with her birthright as she seeks out the mysterious organization of the Tophet. An ok book in every way. Not a great story, ok to hooray artwork, and extremely wordy. The story was pretty obvious after the first couple of chapters. I do like the black and white artwork. The book did get better towards the end but it was a bit drawn out for me and as soon as the story got interesting again it was over. Not the best vampire comic but not the worst.
Meant to save this for October, but it was on the top of the pile. If this were ever to be adapted to the big screen, I would expect even the theatrical release to have a TNT logo in the bottom corner 🎥
