This book is intended for children, but I found it full of wonderful bits of information and fabulous photos and diagrams. I especially like the page with overlays showing how the carving changed over time.

I was surprised by how fascinating this book made Mount Rushmore. Forget long passages of text -- this has lots of bite-size pieces. Fun facts and quirky stories will keep young readers engaged, so they don't even realize they're learning.
