Soccer mom Sandra and sports angel Bob are back! Peter has been cast as one of the Walton boys in a local play, giving Sandra a new chauffeur duty. When the two of them get stuck inside the remote theater during a snowstorm, and then find a dead body, Sandra calls on her old friend Bob to help.
It's a kooky cast of suspicious characters, and one of them is a killer. Can Sandra and Bob figure out who it is before someone else gets hurt?
(This is Book 2 of Wing and a Prayer Mysteries. The entire series is available in large print.)
Loved this one just as much as the first in the series. It's just fluffy and fun! Didn't have to think a great deal... just enjoy the fun! I really like this author. This is only the second work of hers I've read. But, I will definitely read on in this series, and possibly another series.
In case my review on the first in the series wasn't read, it's about a soccer mom who is thrown into unlikely murder scenarios and ends up being the one who solves them, with the help of an angel named Bob. (Well, really his name is Binadab, but since no one pronounces it right, he uses the moniker Bob.).
Kudos to this author. Nice job, Robin... wherever you are!
The second in the “Wing and a Prayer” series. It’s an enjoyable easy read. One snowy night Sandra is watching her son at play rehearsal. The snow keeps falling and the temperature dropping and Sandra is concerned they won’t be getting home. Then one of the performers is found dead at the foot of the rickety staircase and the lights go out...Sandra calls Angel Bob for help!
It's simply fun. 😊 This is the follow-up to a tough mom bear out to defend her cubs. Only in this book, she's gone from learning to be a soccer referee to help solve a murder with an invisible angel, yep, an invisible angel, to now launching into theater.
It is still filled with the same feeling as playing Clue when a kid and it is clean yet still a good detective sleuthing puzzle/mystery. Perhaps more on the lines of Scooby-Doo than a true crime novel but with all the real gore happening in the real world,... Scooby-Doo it is. 👍
My favorite scene was the very end with the mom, son, and the Christmas tree. 🎄 😊
Love the mysteries with a busy mom being proud of being just that, the best mom. With typical life made a little more exciting and helped by an angel it's a fun mix. No romance slant or weirdness. No overly crazy family drama or broken home.
I didn't enjoy this book quite as much as the first one in the series, but it was still a fun and entertaining read with a little Christian element to it.
I haven't read a bad book yet. I'm loving this series. Helping me through the "Stay at home" crisis. If you love mystery and a good laugh this one is for you.
I really enjoyed “The Show Stopper.” Each story about Sandra and Bob gets better and better! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. *I read the kindle edition of this book*
A good read. Not quite as good as the first book but still an enjoyable read. The whole thing stared because her son suddenly got the acting bug. Driving through a blizzard to get to a rehearsal is so not for her but she can't disappoint her son. However when one of the actresses is found at the bottom of a staircase she immediately thinks it foul play. Possibly due to the hammer and a slash of red. Now she calls for Bob, the angel that help before. Throw in a power cut, a kidnapped son, a missing phone, suspicions of the rest of the cast, a mad drive in pursuit of the killer, ancient snowmobiles and a river rescue. How will her son react to Bob and will he actually see him? Who was involved with the death on the stairs and why? What will her husband think of her dragging her son along on her investigation?
Soccer Mom Sleuth Sandra is back at it again! Someone has been murdered at her son’s theater practice during a crazy Maine snowstorm she’s determined find the killer before the killer finds another victim.
Robin has you guessing through the whole book whodunnit. I am usually really good at figuring it out early in the story but with her books, she always keeps me guessing! After she reveals the killer she keeps the story going with plenty of action and suspense and the story is wrapped up in a way perfect for a cozy mystery. All in all an A+ read!!
I was given an ARC for my review but this review was optional and reflects my opinion of the story.
I loved book two in the series. Sandra & Bob are at it again. This time at a theater and not a soccer field. Sandra is hopeful that her angel helper will show up off the field to help her solve a murder at the local community theater. Bob comes through and between the two of them they work to figure out who committed murder. In the midst of a power outage during a Maine blizzard, the two crime fighters put together the puzzle pieces to try to keep everyone safe.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast paced, enjoyable read. I highly recommend it.
