Until Jonathan marries and has an heir his father's will determines he cannot claim his full inheritance. Time limits and hoops to jump over have been set, effectively whittling Jonathan's choices.

I had high hopes for this one based on the blurb. Marriage of convenience and enemies to lovers is right up my alley. Sadly, I couldn't even finish this book due to the writing style. It felt very belabored, and I had to spend too much brain effort to untangle what the author was trying to say with each sentence that I lost the story line and had to go re-read. After several chapters, I still couldn't get into the flow of the book and gave up. I'm all for a well-written, or clever turn of phrase ...more

I knew I was going to like this book by the end of the first chapter. An unrepentant rogue and a woman who finds him the least desirable bachelor in London. I knew these two would fall and fall hard. There’s nothing better than that transformation of “how could they possibly” to “they were meant for each other” and all the electrifying tension in between. That’s what I love about Anabelle Bryant’s books. She makes me believe.

There’s no love lost between Lord Jonathan Cromford, the Earl of Lindsey, and his late father, a feeling only amplified by the hoops Jonathan must jump through to claim his full inheritance. The stipulation that he must forego his rakish tendencies and produce an heir is more than he can take, but with few options, Lindsey must put his pleasures on temporary hold at least. He’s totally unprepared for his chance meeting with Lady Caroline Nicholson and the draw he feels toward her.

All the stars for this one are because of the romance. Lindsey and Caroline had great chemistry and I really did feel their connection throughout the book, and found myself highly anticipating each time they managed to steal a moment away together.

Unfortunately, this was one of the slowest-moving books ever, and those moments felt few and far between. As much as I like the secret relationship trope (and did enjoy elements of it here), it doesn't really work that well in a historical romance whe

I really loved London's Most Elusive Earl (Midnight Secrets, #4). I have read every book by Anabelle Bryant and I especially liked this one.
Lord Jonathan Cromford, the Earl of Lindsey, has never gotten on well with his father, and when his father passes away, he leaves a list of things he expects to be taken care of -before Jonathan will inherit. One of these things is to settle down, get married and produce an heir! This is something Jonathan has no interest in, as he is a notorious rake. He h

Upon the death of his cold and uncaring father, it’s revealed that certain requirements be met prior to Lord Lindsey receiving his inheritance. Apparently beyond the grave his father will still try to control him. Many layers to unravel as to who our hero really is, the rogue he presents to society or someone totally different?

Caroline Nicholson is a young debutante and proper lady who plans to marry before the season ends. But when she meets the renown rakehell Lord Jonathan Cromford, she find

I liked the story, but I thought that there were so many unanswered questions and subplots that the reader is left hanging at the end. The writing is excellent and the portrayal of the main characters and their feelings were illuminating, but some of the secondary characters are not as well defined.

Wit, charm and sizzle are deliciously intertwined in Anabelle Bryant’s irresistible new historical romance, London’s Most Elusive Earl.

Jonathan Cromford, Earl of Lindsey, has always known that his late father was a ruthless and cold-hearted individual who seemed to love nothing more than to make his son’s life a living hell, but even Jonathan – whose opinion of his father has always been very low – never imagined that his papa would stoop so low! He's entitled and kind of whiny about it.
Jonathan is now the Earl of Lindsey, after inheriting from his father, who set some conditions on his purse. Honestly? This felt like the wrong book at the wrong time to me. He's overly entitled, the heroine meets him when he's setting up a rendezvous for a painting, but he''ll hop in a married woman's bed to get one of the three paintings back.

I liked Caroline who's trying to navigate the ton and society and find a husband. She doesn't deserve a privil

I enjoyed having the main male character be so entranced by the heroine, but the mystery of the paintings, forgeries, bastard brothers, etc was not very well thought out and rather confusing.

I was provided with an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

London's Most Elusive Earl by Anabelle Bryant is book 4 in the Midnight Secrets Series. This is the story of Jonathan Cromford, Earl of Lindsey and Caroline Nicholson. I have read the previous books so that did add to my enjoyment of this one, but this is totally a standalone book. I loved this book. An intelligent heroine and hero!

Jonathan, Lord Lindsey, after hearing his abusive fathers will, was set on a wild goose chase to find a trio of missing paintings that would set the Earldom back to its once wealthy status. That was only one bequest he had to follow, the other ways to produce an heir, something he had no intention of doing. That was until he met beautiful and vivacious Lady Caroline.

Caroline and her parents had rushed back to England from Italy, thinking they

London’s Most Elusive Earl ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
By Annabelle Bryant

Although, many wills possess caveats, Lord Jonathan Cromford, Earl of Lindsey the will left by his father had many contingencies. Jonathan learned the hard way he had to step up to the plate and stop being a rogue.

He had to face the demise of his past ways with the added pressure of time not being on his side.
He needed to marry and produce an heir if he wanted his inheritance.

Another feather in the cap of a wonderful writer! Ms. Bryant's writing brings forth the world of Regency England. Her characters are not only likeable but written in such a manner that they seem life like. The reader thrust into the world of the characters, experiencing it all right along side them.

This is a lovely sweet story with very low angst and a treasure (kind of) hunt. Sometimes I need something that is not high intensity (my normal read) and this one hit the spot. I thought Lindsey was swoonworthy but was less interested in Charlotte even though parts of her story are devastatingly sad.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

What a treat! Jonathan, the Earl of Lindsay, must recover three paintings stolen from his family, and more importantly, father an heir in order to claim his inheritance. Lady Caroline Nicolson is looking for a husband but Lindsay seems just so...inappropriate at first. They bond, however, over art and that evolves into love. BUt= there must be tension and here the issue is Carline's concern that a fall from a horse could have cost her the ability to bear children. You know this will resolve happ ...more

I enjoyed this book. I found both Jonathan and Caroline likeable characters I enjoyed watching the 2 of them fall in love. The story was intriguing and held my interest. However, with that said, there were too many subplots where the loose ends were not tied up.I have questions on why Mills left England to go to Italy And I felt that there should be some sort reckoning with Powell. I do hope that Ms Bryant
will explore both stories in later novels. I do recommend this book even with the loose end
