Will they be able to find love together when so many secrets stand between them.
It is not so often I can read a historical romance with a side of paranormal. And even more with shifters.
I have not read the previous books in the series, wand without knowledge of the other books stories, I can confirm this one can be read as a standalone. Just the previous books might add some insights about the other characters appearing here as side protagonists.
What I liked first was there was no fated mates and with its insta-lust/love I dislike so much. Without looking for angsty stories, I do like the main heroes having to fight a bit to win another’s love.
I do loved the new Victoria, her old self was described as meek and weak. But under Damaris name, she get fire, refusing to be ordered or bend even for her peer of a husband.
Evan is no easy man to live with, with fit of temper, he is overbearing and commanding, the kind of alpha male I would have slapped on the back of his head, why Victoria did it which was quite satisfying at time, just a bit early in the story, even if she should have done it more often as he rightly deserves a medal for his callousness on dealing with her.
But unknown to Victoria, she deals with two beings, her husband and his beast.
So this is their journey to rekindle and get to know one another when time has passed and them have moved and changed.
Their initial marriage was one of convenience, no true love was shared, so it is up to them to give it a second chance but with it come faith and trust in each other, with they find in them enough strength to share their secrets and burdens.
In all Mrs Sandra Sookoo crafted a tense and romantic paranormal romance with a historical background.
4.5 stars.

Treasured by the Earl
What a wonderful story. This is the fourth book in the Lords of the Night Series. I have enjoyed every one. Evan is the ninth Earl of Coventry. Victoria is his wife who he thought had died seven years earlier. For all those years he had shut himself away with his son, who was also Victorias son. Well this night he had gone to a route at his friends and on making his way out he spotted Victoria. Having thought her dead for seven years he was shocked to see her, and spoke with her but she didn’t know him at all. Could not remember anything. She could not even remember having a child. Well in a few days she and the lady she called Aunt had moved in to Evans house. Where after a short while he told her about their son. Well the story continues on with adventure and excitement and loving. He taught her to Dance. It was lovely. Then they decided to hold a party in their home. Her parents turned up, and the father kidnapped Evan, with intentions of killing him. He point blank shot his daughter, that Evan thought she had died, again. So Evan killed her Father. He was an evil man. Evan then thought to breathe dragon fire
Into Victoria to save her life as the fire would either kill or cure her. These books are fantastic, I love them. Well done Mrs Sookoo. Xxx

This was so good, really good!!! I love an historical romance with a paranormal feature in it, especially if it's a dragon shifter. Sandra Sookoo did a wonderful job of writing Evan and Victoria's story. If anyone deserves a HEA, it's these two, after everything they go through.
Their story is filled with heartache, guilt, secrets, and when they're given a second chance to make things right with their marriage, it doesn't come easy but then they are not the people they were before and have learned to be stronger. Having believed his wife lost in a house fire years before, imagine his surprise when she turns up in his life again....alive but with no memory of their past. Not only does she learn that they have a son, she must also accept that Evan is a dragon shifter, a curse put upon his ancestors and passed on to him.
I sympathized with Victoria's anxiety because I've been there and it's not easy to overcome but with time, love and care, it CAN be eased. All in all, I really enjoyed this story and although we are left wondering if Evan will put an end to the curse when the right time comes along, I like to think he will because earlier in the book he had said he would, that his mind was made up about that:)
I received an ARC of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Unusual Shifter Regency
While the cover of this book looks like just about any other Regency romance out there, the book's description reveals that this is not your typical Regency. It is different on at least two levels. It has a strong paranormal element, as the hero is a dragon shifter, his family line cursed by a gypsy after an ancestor's night of debauchery. The hero, especially at first, comes across as aloof and arrogant, almost Darcy like as that archetypal hero was when we first met him in the classic *Pride and Prejudice*. The other way in which this book is different is that it is not about a new couple trying to figure out if they want to make their nascent relationship permanent. Rather, the hero is a widower, believing that his wife was tragically lost in a fire. But it appears as though things are not as they have seemed for the last seven years; he sees a woman who looks remarkably like her at a ball in London. She has amnesia, though, but she is indeed his wife. So this is really about a couple getting back together after years apart because of tragedy. The fact that she does not remember her previous life at first and that she herself has also really changed in personality is what makes this book fascinating to read as we watch what happens between them. She is not the same woman her husband knew, adding to the complexity of their new relationship. If you enjoy Regencies that have a paranormal aspect to them as well as unusual circumstances like amnesia complicating a second chance, you may very well enjoy this book.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
