Following in the tradition of the first five editions, the goal of this market leading textbook, Chemistry in Context , sixth edition, is to establish chemical principles on a need-to-know basis within a contextual framework of significant social, political, economic and ethical issues. The non traditional approach of Chemistry in Context reflect today's technological issues and the chemistry principles imbedded within them. Global warming, alternate fuels, nutrition, and genetic engineering are examples of issues that are covered in CIC.

It began well and then became confusing. If I did not have an ample background in chemistry and extra tutoring this book might as well had been kindle for a fire.

This was such an interesting, well written, and at times witty chemistry book that I wrote the company to compliment it after reading it for a class. Unfortunately the class was one of the most pathetic college classes I have taken. At least I got a good book out of it. :P

Great, a chemistry textbook. Who cares how I review this, it's a CHEMISTRY TEXTBOOK. It probably taught me more than my Chem teacher, so it succeeded in that regard. I only read small sections on air and water pollution, definitely more than others in the class.

As a Dyscalcula student I found this book wonderful. I needed some help for the few equations but everything else was surprisingly simple to understand. I am planning on using this with my daughter when she reaches high school (homeschool) if not sooner.
