I first read this at the age of 12. There's still some of the stories which stick with me.

A ranged selection which suits me. Some of my personal favourites: 'Pictures Don't Lie'; 'It could be You'; 'Obedience'; 'Christmas Tree'

Science Fiction Stories edited by Tom Boardman Jr.

A disappointing collection of mostly poorly written, predictable stories. I was surprised the Stainless Steel Rat was in there. The only exceptions being 'The Stainless Steel Rat'- The story of how 'Slippery' Jim deGriz joined the Space Special Corps, 'In the Abyss' by H. G. Wells - an experimental submersible discovering an unknown civilisation under the sea, 'Spectator sport' - A time traveller from the past is lobotomised and hooked up to a virtual reality machine, 'Christmas tree' - A spaceman smuggles a Christmas tree to an old timer on the moon who failed his medical check, leaving his stranded on Luna city and 'The astronaut' - A ship's captain makes the ultimate sacrifice to see his ship and crew home safely.
