Griffin... I loved her for years but she never loved me back. When she was taken, I snapped. Now she’s back and not herself. She’s an empty shell of the woman I knew. But I still love her. Her demons are many, and I want to slay every one. Problem is, she thinks she’s too broken.
Brie... He never knew I loved him. I made sure of that. Then I was taken and made unloveable. My past hadn’t prepared me for the hell I was put through. I’d wanted to die, but he wouldn’t let me. No matter what I did, he made sure to save me. He says he loves me and that he always will. Problem is, I’m too broken to love him back.

This book starts of with a prologue and hooks me straight away.
Brie goes through an extreme trauma when she was taken and is never the same again. Brie thinks that she is too broken after what she's been put through Griffin and the brotherhood did everything they could to get her back. They didn't know if she was dead or alive they just wanted her home. Griffin was a really decent guy who would do anything for the gang. When Brie is found all he wants to do is protective her, however her recovery is going to be very hard. Griffin has loved her fiercely for a long time and he brought the best out of her. Brie thinks she doesn't deserve his love. They have both loved each other for year's from a far everyone knows it to and think that it's about time. ( NO SPOILERS).
This book has returning characters from book 1 which I always love, it's always good to see what they are doing now it's like your friends. I really feel for Brie she's not had it easy and you can see why she felt like she was now unloveable and broken. When she wrote Griffin the letter I wanted to scream noo!! This book has twist and shockers that you won't see coming to. This book has you shouting and screaming then feeling sad for what they go through. I loved the epilogue to.
I really liked this authors writing style and this book is a real page turner an excellent book and I cant wait to read the next instalment of this series. I'm desperately wanting to read Aiden and Scarlett story, I need this now.
Thank You to the author and publishers for allowing me to read a copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book is expected to be released on 6th February 2020.
Just like the book's title title, Broken Innocence broke my freaking heart in the best romance type of way. I enjoyed the first book, but this one is definitely my favorite- great job Andi Rhodes!!
The Broken Rebel Brotherhood is definitely different from other MC reads in that they 100% are veterans looking to help people. We learn so much about these amazing characters and what they have been through and how they are able to deal (if they fully are able to) with the experiences that they went through- it was beautiful and super freaking hot in some areas.
All in all, if you like your romances a bit more on the darker side with a lot of emotions, Broken Innocence is a book you should check out- I give it 4.5 stars and loved it!
PS: Thank you to Andi Rhodes and Give Me Books PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!
Holy wow!! How is it that lately I've read books that have made me cry? Broken Innocence did just that. This book is the second In the series, and is loosely based around an MC. In this book we get Brie & Griffin's story. Brie's story is not for the faint of heart. What that woman has been through in her life would have most people curled up in a corner somewhere. The trauma she has suffered has helped shape her into the strong confident woman she is. However, she feels with the latest event that has happened that she is truly broken. Griffin is the strong growly type we all love. He has been in love with Brie for years. His strength, compassion, and patience is just what Brie needs. As you can imagine with the trauma she has just endured she does what she feels is best. In true Griffin form he does not let her get away with it. I love how this group of people are like family. They will do whatever is necessary for those they consider one of their own. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series as they are released.
I feel like I should have liked this one better. I liked Griffin, liked Brie and hated how she was screwed over in the last book. I think part of why this one didn't hit better is that we learn that these 2 had a past where they dated, but it ended. Yet they each love each other and went on dating others, still loving the other.
I was very glad that Brie got rescued, glad that she had Griffin to pull her out of despair when it hit, that past they had seemed to do the trick. But man...she had a lot to work through, even stuff she thought she did. I thought Griffin brought up a good thing too when he said he needed her and she couldn't see it, which is why they broke up in the past.
But with everything said, I'm happy to see them in a good place at the end of this book.
There are never enough words when an author takes you into the dark the way Andi Rhodes does in this story. Her story was written so well you will not regret going into it with her.
It will rip your heart out and maybe put it back but I can tell you it won’t ever be the same again! You will wonder how does one person go through so much and not feel the way they do and survive but by a thread.
You can feel a certain way and realize you don’t have to be alone but sometimes you need a little alone to see differently. You don’t always realize when you shut down that you are not alone and that just when you are not sure you can do it anymore, there is your person.
This series is one that requires its readers to be strong for the characters and to not give in to the urge to shut the cover. If the author is brave enough to write those words she must have faith she can get you through it!
Broken Innocence by Andi Rhodes is book Two in the Broken Rebel Brotherhood Series. This is the story of Brie and Griffin. I have read the previous book which helped me to enjoy this one but you could make it a standalone book if you wish to do so. This book picks up where we left off in the last one. Griffin had been searching for Brie who was his friend but they both had been in love with each other but never voiced it or really acted on it. Brie hasn't had a easy childhood or life. In her present day she had been taken, tortured and left feeling that she was unlovable. Of course Griffin only wants to care for her and protect her but can they get past her feelings and what has happened to her? Possible trigger issues for some, so only read if you like dark romance stories.
This is the second book in the Broken Rebel Brotherhood series, and the story of Griffin, and Brie. When Brie goes through a kidnapping, and comes out tormented, and damaged, Griffin is their to pick up her broken pieces, and help her heal. This was another emotional roller coaster, the characters are well written, have great chemistry, and captivated me the entire book. This was raw, gritty, intense, suspenseful, dramatic, twisted, and steamy. This is a must read.
Holy crap, this book. This story contains all of the feels. How can Brie overcome her feelings? Griffin is so patient and kind and would we not all want him on our side. This is not the typical MC story and the BRB are not your typical MC members. They help the downtrodden gain confidence and help. When one of their own, Brie, is a victim, they stand behind her even though she does not want their pitiful looks and words. Griffin and Brie’s story is about trust and overcoming fears. A slow burn romance that will make you wonder if Brie can really overcome her past experience. No fast remedies and that is what is great about this story. I loved it!
This story was just heartbreaking! It is in describable what Brie has been through. Not just when she was kidnapped but her whole life.
I had no idea that Griffin and Brie had the past connection that they did. They did a great job hiding it from everyone. I felt horrible for Griffin once we learned how deep their connection was. I have no idea how he didn't go completely off the rails when Brie was taken and missing for so long.
Please understand that there are very difficult situations to read in this book. They are an integral part of the book and if they weren't there the book wouldn't be the same.
Be sure to have lots of kleenex's available when you read this book but I promise it will be worth it.
Brie had endured an abusive childhood by her father. She joined the Navy to become a strong and confident woman in order to escape her past. Griffin had helped Brie with her panic attacks while they were in the military..then he left.
Brie became part of the BRB team once she left the military. Then her world was shattered. Kidnapped. Tortured. Abused. Brie was broken and became a shell.
Griffin had always loved Brie but couldn't tell her. He was so patient with Brie after she was rescued. He was determined to keep her but she kept running away.
I love the men and women of the BRB! Can't wait for next installment of this amazing series!
Picking up right where book one ended, Brie has been taken and Griffin is torn apart worried about her and trying to figure out how to get her back. I can't really say much more without giving some plot away so I'll just say that this was quite the page turner. I was so eager to see how everything was going to turn out that I didn't want to put it down. Action, drama, suspense and of course it wouldn't be complete without a little romance thrown in too. I really enjoyed this and can't wait for Aiden's story next. I give Broken Innocence 5 stars.
This is the first book I've ever read by this author and wow I wasn't disappointed. Holey moley what a compelling and captivating dark story defiantly not for the faint of heart.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Okay, with Griffin and Brie's story, I am officially a fan of Andi Rhodes! Again this is not a traditional MC series, they are only loosely organized in the way of MCs. Their focus, as former military, is to do good and help the helpless usually outside the limits of the law. The start of the story picks up where Micah and Sadie's story left off. There is some trauma that Brie goes through that was hard to read but I think Ms Rhodes handled it very well. Griffin and Brie have known each other for years and I loved that they had such a long friendship. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see how they would get their happy ending. I loved every moment that I spent with this couple and the members of the Broken Rebel Brotherhood! 5 stars for Broken Innocence.
Broken Innocence Broken Rebel Brotherhood Book #2 Release Date: February 6, 2020 Review Copy Provided by the Publisher
This book was dark. And unnerving. It definitely threw me out of my comfort zone a time or two, but that didn’t stop me from going forward, and I’m glad for that. From time to time I like when a book shakes me up, and this one did just that.
I was intrigued by the heroine, Brie, from the moment she stepped onto the page in the first book. I could sense that she had a dark past. What I wasn’t prepared for was that her present was about to become utter hell. This woman is strong and rarely lets anyone see beyond that, but I like that the author showed us Brie’s vulnerable and broken side. It helped me to understand her better.
Griffin is, well, he’s pretty amazing. He has always loved Brie and hasn’t given up that he’ll find her alive. Though not having any answers on who has her, or where to search, day after day, and month after month, is killing him. Like Brie, we get to see Griff’s softer side in this book. I mean, he’s still growly and alpha as can be, but there’s layers to him that only Brie is able to expose. I really think the author did a great job with character development in this book. There were so many facets to them.
This is classified as an MC romance, but it’s not the typical kind of club. It was refreshing to have a different spin on the genre.
I was a little thrown by the out of nowhere addition of another bad guy. It’s towards the very end, and it just seemed unnecessary. It didn’t pull me out the story, but it was a little eye brow raising.
This was a damn good dark romantic suspense. I recommend starting with book #1 to get the most enjoyment.
🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤 This was a second chance story about love, family and overcoming truama. It is definitely gritty, raw and heartbreaking but the MCs, especially Brie, were so strong, capable and inspiring that I was glued to the pages.
The story begins from Brie’s POV and recounts her first day in captivity and at the hands of a monster who will torment her for 7 long months. I appreciated the trigger warning on this one because although definitely outside my comfort zone, this let me brace myself from all the ugly that our heroine has to go through. It also helped that it wasn’t overly descriptive or drawn out, so big thank you for that!
This was such a rollercoaster ride of intense emotions. There were highs and lows but through it all, you have Griffin, who was so loyal and unrelenting when it came to Brie. Definitely swoon worthy! Did I wish he and Brie would have stayed celibate while they both worked up the nerve to admit they had deeper feelings for each other? Yes! Do I hate that they both wasted so much time apart when their HEA was literally staring them in the face? Hell yes! BUT their story will still hold you captive to the sweet ending.
I can definitely recommend if you like intense chemistry between the MCs, redemption, second chances, strong heroines and friends to lovers.
Trigger warning:
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Griffin won’t rest until he finds Brie, he only hopes that she’s alive and not too broken when he finally finds her. He’s been looking for months, but he hasn’t had any leads. Everyone in the Broken Rebel Brotherhood is worried about both Griffin and Brie.
Brie has given up it’s been too long since she’s been taken, and she is convinced that Griffin is not coming to save her. She’s convinced herself that no one from her team is coming to save her. She fought at first, but she quickly realized that it did no good. Will anyone find her before the light completely goes out in her? She’s had to endure a lot in her life, and this may just be the one thing that really can break her. When she is rescued, she isn’t able to overcome her past while being coddled or constantly under someone’s watchful eye, so she decides to go it alone. The only trouble is, she doesn’t realize that Griffin won’t let that happen.
This story had me crying from the start. Brie is fighting for her life and decides to give up because she believes that no one is coming to rescue her. She’s a fighter but this is too much. I am loving this series and I look forward to Aiden’s story. If you are looking for an MC story with a twist, you should read the Broken Rebel Brotherhood series. It’s not your regular MC series. These members are all about protecting those that can’t protect themselves and they will go to any length to make sure that justice is served on those who hurt others. They are retired special forces and have their own dark pasts, but they are a family that has each other’s backs no matter what.
Broken Innocence is book two in the Broken Rebel Brotherhood (BRB) MC series and while each book can be read as a standalone, you will see in the first book how this close knit family came to be and includes women not just brothers. This is one of the good MC series and involves Veterans protecting not only their family, but others in town especially women in need. Oh boy! Broken heart, tears and hurt are only some of the things you will feel while reading this story. This story is not for the faint of heart, so tread lightly. Brie you are stronger than strong let me say this. I would have died long time ago. In this book, we get Brie and Griffin's story. They are both BRB members and have loved each from afar for years. Funny in light of all bad things, that everyone already knew what they tried to hide from each other. Brie may be broken, but she has this family and Griffin to help slay those demons. Griffin is patient, a protector and finally dealt with enough time of hiding his feelings. He will show Brie he will stand by her and love her the way she was meant to be loved. This series pulls you in from beginning to end, has heart/broken, suspense and turns you don't see coming and yet still manages to put a smile on your face at the end. I truly enjoy this series and recommend this series to anyone who enjoys good MC books. I look forward to seeing just what Aiden breaks and how it plays out.
Broken Innocence" is an intense and deeply emotional novel that serves as a gripping sequel to "Broken Souls." Picking up where the first book left off, this story centers on Griffin and Brie, two characters bonded by hardship and resilience.
Brie, bearing the scars of a tortured childhood, has a complex connection to the past through her ex, who is Sadie’s abusive husband—a central figure from the first novel. After meeting Griffin during their time in the service, Brie finds in him a steadfast source of support and understanding.
The narrative takes a dark turn as Brie becomes a victim once again, enduring months of pain, torture, and other harrowing experiences. The author does not shy away from depicting the raw and challenging realities Brie faces, making this a particularly intense read. However, Griffin’s unwavering presence offers a beacon of hope. His commitment to helping Brie heal is both touching and inspiring, as he stands by her side through her journey of recovery.
Ultimately, "Broken Innocence" is a story of survival, healing, and the transformative power of love and friendship. The novel artfully captures Brie's path from brokenness to strength, emphasizing that with support and inner determination, it is possible to reclaim one’s life after trauma. This book is recommended for readers who appreciate emotionally charged stories of resilience and redemption.
HOLY WOW HELL! Broken Innocence isn't for the weak, as I'm a hot mess after experiencing it. I'm not usually one to cry about anything, but the brilliant Andi Rhodes make me bawl like a b*t*h baby, so obviously, this story brought me to my knees. Brie has been through things which no normal human should go through (can't totally say everyone though because some do deserve hell upon them), and OMG! Griffin has loved Brie for a long time, and when she was taken, he was beside himself, as he just wanted her back whether she loved him or not. Secretly though? Everything isn't what it seemed when it came to her feelings. Anyway, when they finally do get her back, she's not even close to the same girl he knew, as she was broken down completely. She wants him to back off, but he isn't even remotely entertaining that, as he's going to make sure she heals. So, does she get back to some semblance of normal (can't say her normal since Andi Rhodes nailed the realistic part in the aftermath) with Griffin's help?! Seriously, just hit your one click button to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Love this book. Love Brie and Griffin’s romance story. This book pretty much picks up where “Broken Souls” ended. At the end of “Broken Souls,” Brie’s ex is Sadie’s abusive husband. Brie ends up running when she found out. During that she ends up being kidnapped and held against her will. This book pretty much picks up 7 months later. Brie has been missing for seven months. During those seven months, Brie is physically assaulted by her kidnapper which ends up essentially breaking her. Griffin has tried everything that he could to find her. The sheriff ends up texting to tell Griffin that they found her. Brie is taken to the hospital. During this all, Brie won’t talk. At the hospital, Griffin acts as Brie’s protector. When she gets released from the hospital, Griffin ends up staying with her. But during this, Brie feels suffocated and she leaves. Griffin finds her after 3 days and gives her a month before he approaches her and brings her home. Love how these two end up together. Worth the read
They were all a team. They weren't the same after they came back from deployment. Eventually, the team got back together but that wasn't the end of their pain. Brie was taken by a sadistic monster. They tried to find her but there were no clues. Griffin never gave up. Never stopped looking and never stopped loving.
They found her after months of pain. She didn't speak. She was a shadow of the old Brie. Why did she have to go through this again? Wasn't her childhood enough? She'd come out of that but not this time she didn't think it possible. When Griffin fought to bring her back she had to let him go. She wasn't worthy of such a man.
This is an emotional ride with pain, evil, love, loyalty, friendship, and plenty of steam. It is one you can't put down. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On.
Oh my goddess!! Strap on your big girl pants and have the tissues ready because the story brings out all of the feels! It is truly heartbreaking what Brie has to endure not only in the present but in her past. Griffin and Brie have a past and when it comes to light just how deeply that past goes my heart breaks for him. These two were intertwined from their Boot Camp days. After Brie is kidnapped she comes back a broken shell of her former self. Griffin is bound and determined to get the Brie they all know and love back all the while loving her. He is so patient with her in their shared past and after she was kidnapped. Will Brie ever be the same again? Will Griffin be able to protect her when the kidnapper isn’t done with her yet?
This book isn’t for the faint of heart it depicts, sexual assault, and other traumatic events.
Brie is a fighter and after she is kidnapped and held for 7 months she will have to fight tooth and nail to get her life back after the trauma. Her saving grace is Griffin. Griffin won’t give up on her even though she tells him too. This book is about survival after so much trauma. It’s about redemption and as it’s about love. A love that has lasted for 10 years even though they couldn’t voice it to each other. This book was truly heartbreaking but in the end they get their happy ending and it will warm your heart.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brie, a sister in the Broken Rebels Brotherhood, has a past with a chunk of heartbreak and a tendency not to trust men. Griffin, alpha protector male and all around good guy, was the first guy she ever trusted. After the military, the timing for a relationship was not quite right even though they were both members of the brotherhood. <<> and now they are trying to put each other back together and dealing with old feelings and new ones.
Heart wrenching story that had me pulled in from the get go. Good read about a MC on the right side of the law working to protect people that can’t protect themselves.

Another amazing Broken Rebel Brotherhood book. Absolutely love this series. Griffin has always loved Brie. He may not have been able to ever say the words til it was to late but once he did get the courage to say how he felt he was not going to let go. Brie has been through so much and the constant in her life of Griffin had always been there to help he get through. Now she was recovering and she needed her space. The question can she get past everything in order to find her happy ever after. The Broken Rebel Brotherhood is always there for one another this is a wonderful series. I recommend this book
Broken Innocence by Andi Rhodes is the second book in the Broken Rebels Brotherhood. This is a bit of a second chance/never knew you loved me type of story where both characters held a torch for each other for years but never confessed and then a horrible obstacle occurs. Griffin has battles to fight but Brie has been broken and needs to fight to find herself and then she can fully embrace what the future can hold. These characters had me in my feels. They are well written and pull at your heartstrings. The story has passion, violence, emotion, danger, suspense, angst, steam, hurt healing, and of course, love. I can not wait to read the next book in series.
I was pulled into it by the end of the first chapter, which is where I stayed until I had read every single word that was written. There are twists, turns and surprises throughout this book, some of the surprises are large, while others are small, some may actually hit you right between the eye's, while others may pull on your heart strings. But each and everyone hold equal importance within the story. Emotions run high throughout the pages of the book and can be felt. I actually went through the emotions along with each of the characters. I highly recommend this book and the author. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Brie was tortured as a child and she dealt with it through the help of one man. He found a way to help her. It may have been unconventional but it was under and it worked.
Brie was a victim again. She tried, she fought but he broke her. Why didn't anyone come for her?
Griffin was on a path to destroy everything if he didn't get her back. Where was she? Who had her? And why couldn't they catch a break? Until they did.
She was a shell, but he had her back and even though she wanted to be dead and even though she pushed him away, he'd always come for her. These two were incredible together....such a great read.
