I almost believe in time travel now! Surely the author has actually visited Victorian London. Ranging from delicate aquarelles of the lovers to harsh Hogarth-style portrayals of gritty life, she creates a vivid and absorbing drama. Both the lead characters win one’s sympathy from the first while the many evil villains send chills up your spine. Modernism only creeps in when the reader learns Amaris’s “treatments” are actually brutal molestation. They could come right out of today’s news although ...more

Brilliant. Tabetha Waite continues to show her amazing prose to produce this masterpiece of suspense and romance. I think most of us, and I definitely am in this category, have been fascinated with Jack the Ripper. There have been so many suppositions as to who he really was that it remains an intriguing mystery that will long grace the readers mind.
From the first page, you are thrown into a horror that Jackson Moreland keeps reliving. He has gone through so much to try to deal with the terrible

I love the title Behind the Moonli Veil. I starting reading it thinking how diffrent it is than what Im used to. I became so emotionally involved whie reading it, I couldnt put it down. Jackson and Amaris so good for each other. They had what the other needed. I think it was amazing how Tabetha told this dark historical romance. It han family betrayal, murder, fear, love and trust. The research was great. I loved the references to some of the known historical facts of that period

Can I give it more than 5 stars? Excellent romance and murder mystery. Could not put it down. Story was mesmerizing; it gave me chills. I received an ARC of this fantastic book.

Once out of curiosity, I researched Jack the Ripper so when I began to read this book I already knew a bit of the backstory. However, this author created a story that was well-researched, well-plotted, and well written!! She was also clever enough to add in tidbits from other scenarios born from this unsolved case.

Normally I give a bit of my take on the two main characters but I'm not going to do it this time. I want the reader to experience the same things I did when snippets of factoids are re

Amaris is basically being held prisoner by her father until a chance encounter with Jackson Moreland. Jackson manages to save her but things don't get any easier. London is in the midst of the Jack the Ripper murders and tensions are running high. Tabetha Waite has successfully captured Victorian London during this dark time. I could feel the fear that was running thru London during that time. There is a lot going on but Ms. Waite does a good job keeping everything together and moving the story ...more

4.5 stars. Behind a Moonlit Veil (love that title, btw) was a bit darker and more disturbing than I had expected, even knowing it was about Jack the Ripper and therefore bound to be at least a little dark. Still, it made for an engaging read. The final third or so of the book left me with mixed feelings. (view spoiler) put a damper on the ending for me. It was just so sad. I have to give Waite props for pushing the boundaries here, though. She’s come up wit ...more

From the first page I knew this was a five star book. Set in Victorian England, Jackson Moreland, a former Inspector, offers his services to Scotland Yard to help find a killer in East End London. Dealing with the death of his wife almost two years ago in a similar death to the Ripper's victims, Jackson thinks this will help not only his demons, but prevent another woman from dying. Into his life he meets Amaris Maxwell, his salvation, but something isn't right in her household. Jackson has to f ...more

A very riveting, emotional, heart stopping and dark thriller....

I had to ruminate over this novel, as I didn't want to miss a single episode of this story. Ms. Waite totally out did herself with her storytelling and accounting, of her version, of Jack-the-Ripper.

Get your copy now. I highly recommend this read. I was gifted a digital advanced reader copy of the book. I leave this review voluntarily.

Thrilling suspenseful romantic steamy all the while with a bit of history about the famous Jack the Ripper.. And you can tell the author did a great job with her research on Jack the Ripper.. The thing I love the most however is that she put that as the background she took a tragic time and worked a beautiful romance into it.. If I could give this book a 10 star I would.. I definitely hope Tabetha continues writing these types of stories

I seldom don't finish books, even when I'm not enjoying them very much; I have an innate need to know what happens. But 82% of the way through this one, I simply gave up. I was too disappointed - and perplexed - to keep going. Spoilers ahead.

I just have no idea how this book has such a high review rating. While the writing style is competent and it's clearly been well-edited, the plot and the characters were completely lackluster (which is, in and of itself, almost impressive, consider

Page Turner!

A suspense filled page turner! The story of Jack The Ripper, very well done; as most people do believe it had to have been a doctor, or someone who had studied in medical school. I have believed this scenario myself; I also believe they would have caught him if fingerprint testing, and certainly DNA results had been available during this time period. The reason I deducted a star are, I personally hate the weak minded female trope in literature; I don't care for the modern feminist vi

With a stunning blend of fact and fiction, Tabetha Waite has penned a flawless Victorian historical romance with an overlay of gothic.

The characters came alive for me. I cheered for Amaris, detested the two doctors, and felt stabs of pity for Jackson. The last few chapters had me gasping with surprise and wondering how the book would end.

Jack the Ripper is one of those unsolved mysteries that seem to fascinate people. The fact that Waite managed to weave so much of this case plus all the other h
