Twelve men. A virgin queen. One arranged marriage.

The first time I met the boys of the Zodiac Brotherhood, I was forced to my knees for the introduction. Still grieving the death of my parents, I was a child queen, a pawn in my uncle’s agenda for wealth and gain. As my guardian, he had the authority to arrange a marriage upon my eighteenth birthday.

That meeting took pl

UGH. I really don't know why people are actually loving and craving for this book. None of the elements--characters, plot twists, plot designs, writing style, BDSM sex scenes, alpha male orientations--satiate my taste in books/contemporary romance. What's worse, I feel extremely nauseous throughout the whole reading skimming process.

NOPE. This book and the future installments is a big no-no for me.

Such an absolute disappointment.

Do not recommend.

When Gemma asked if i’d like an arc of this series,i couldn’t reply quick enough, saying YES PLEASE!
Because, come’s Gemma James we’re talking about.
And i LOVE everything that comes out of her pen, keypad,or whatever she uses to create her dark magic!
This series promises to be another one of those dark beauties, and i already love it!

Young queen Novalee Van Buren (Love her surname! Small fact:our own royal family uses it as an alias) is orphaned at the tender age of 12,and her evil uncle d

The book was well-written, but so insanely short (20k words) that only a weak connection could be established between the hero and heroine. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the worldbuilding was also extraordinarily poor.

However, I liked the premise - a queen is promised to twelve men on her eighteenth birthday, they each get her for a month, at the end there's an auction and she's married to one. They can't have sex with her during their month. It's called a reverse harem, and I really really hope it li

This was a short quick read that I liked by an author that I have read before. In this book we meet Novalee the Zodiac Queen and she’s being forced to marry, but she must only pick from the twelve suitors that are slated for her hand in marriage. She must spend 30 days one month with each one before they actually auction her off to one of them. Liam Castle, the Chancellor on Zodiac Island and Sebastian, both of whom Novalee remembers from her childhood. Liam, Aries, gets her the first month. Thi ...more

Aries is fascinatingly new dark story that’s shrouded in mystery, betrayal and uncertainty. Novalee is a reluctant queen who is being forced to bow before twelve angry kings. This first story is a rigid look into what’s sure to be one heck of a twisted fairytale.

In Aries, we get an in-depth look at Liam and the budding relationship that him and Novalee are slowly building. It’s both interesting and frustrating, the chemistry between the two is explosive but time does them no favors. She only ha

This new series the Zodiac Queen by Gemma James is sure to burn up the pages...or ereaders...if it's anything like "Aries" part one
Gemma writes a sensual, seductive tale of innocence and lust in this 12 part series.
A young woman trapped by her uncle and bargained off at the age of 18 to live on an island for 12 months at the mercy of 12 men with varying degrees of sexual desires who will use her as they see fit as long as they don't take her virginity. At the end of 12 months she will be

Interesting idea, not what I was looking for.
To many confusing points in the set up of the story ...
Holy crap, what a beginning to a new series. This blew my mind, but I shouldn't be surprised... It is one of Gemma's books and she sure as shit knows how to bring the WOW factor... and this book did exactly that.

Well, I went into this book open-minded, I have learnt that it's the best way when it comes to Gemma's books. I am glad I did. I wasn't sure what to expect, I mean I know this authors style well but still, she shocked me with this... In a good way of course.

"I’m on fire, turning to ash for this man."

The Zodiac Queen series is off to a fantastic start with Aries. This is my first expirence with author Gemma James and I'm SOLD! Once I started this Novella I simply could not stop reading it. I read it staright through in a matter of hours. Everything about this story is alluring and engaging. I am on pins and needles to meet the rest of the 12 men. Although Liam is setting the bar high as my favorite right off the bat. Sebastian has me rather intr

More smut.

I’m not a fan of how the story is going. The men are cruel, and they debase her quite a bit. They say it’s putting her in her place but I’m not a fan. Unfortunately I’m intrigued by how this is to end especially with how they treat her.

There are sooooooo many moments in this book where I’m just eye rolling. So. Many. So it’s definitely not a serious book and it’s I guess supposed to be more modern because there’s airplanes and such?

Can not recommend - Purchased because I was interested in how Astrology was applied to male characters. However I had to stop reading because I disliked it so much. Firstly, Heroine is disempowered and degraded, and the first sex scene I consider rape, even if she eventually consents, and eventually falls for this Male Character. Can't believe in the next book the Hero character will treat her worse. Not enough warning how dark this book is. DNF TOASTED
Emotional. Steaminess. Rules. Power. Control. These words all come to mind after reading this book. It is one that truly every affected every orifice of my heart. Gemma James has torn me apart - with no way to put me back together. The story and characters have blown me away!! A must read for 2019!!!!

This was an unbelievably emotional and heart wrenching book. The way the author makes you feel with her words - I’M SPEECHLESS!!! This story has so many emotional twists it’ll leave you holding you
Yeah, no. This one is definitely 100% not for me.

But please, the person who enjoys reading about rape and virgins, let me know why!?!?! What, pray tell, is enjoyable in reading about a girl who is stripped of all of her power, forced on her knees, blowjob-raped, punished for touching herself, and then humiliated at every turn?

I've read my fair share of hot, well-written BDSM books, even dark ones, but this one wasn't even dark.. It was so rushed (and short) that clearly its only purpose was

Aries is the first installment in the new series by Gemma James. It follows child queen Novalee who is contracted to 12 members of the brotherhood after her parents' death. This was definitely an intriguing start to the series. We get to know Novalee and chancellor Liam. They were both likable characters and I am curious to see how the relationship develops in light of the circumstances. I am also extremely curious about the other eleven guys, especially since special attention has been paid to ...more

This is a fabulous first book for the Zodiac Series. It was also very intense and teeth clenching at moments.
Liam is my favourite character so far because he is strong and assertive but still seems to care about Novalee.
I am looking forward to Heath's story but Sebastian's story will be explosive and much anticipated!
I need more of this series!

Oohhh what a fabulous start to this series. Certainly not what I expect but then again I’ve learnt to expect the unexpected from this author.

Twelve men. A virgin queen. One arranged marriage.

Novalee is a fabulous sassy and courageous character. I’m looking forward to seeing more of her sassiness in the future books.

I’m so looking forward to reading more of the Zodiac Brotherhood.

What a beginning to this series!

What I loved:
✔ quick read (think novella length)
✔ deliciously dark
✔ lots of intrigue
✔ sexual tension/chemisty.

This one sets the scene and is about her time with Liam ♈. I am looking forward to get to know each one men leading up to the auction. Can't wait for more!

So this is a very interesting book! This is a short little novella and is the start of a 12 book series. This is about a queen named Novalee. When she was 12 years old, the young princess's parents passed away and her uncle got custody of her. Her uncle then signed a contract with a neighboring land where the power is split up into 12 sections all based on zodiac signs. When she is 18 for one year she will belong to the man who leads one of the zodiacs each month. This book starts out

OMG, Gemma, where have you been? Having just recently discovered this author Gemma James and the Zodiac Series, I must say it is absolutely one of my favorites. It's written in such a unique way that the book grabs you from the beginning and doesn't stop once you finish it. I love the story of Novalee and the Chancellor. I especially love how each book ends on a cliffhanger. The only thing I would change is that I wouldn't start the series until all the books were written because I die a little ...more

I was so looking forward to this read and this starting book did not disappoint. I am not sure how Gemma has created such a fantastic world with Liam and Novalee but with the way she has written these characters and their stories I am hooked. Liam is a strong alpha with the sensitive side I adore and I love the way he is protective over Novalee. My heart breaks for Novalee and how her uncle has treated her since her parents died.

I am so excited for this book and the series. Such amazing writing and a great story. Sad and sexy so far. Can’t wait for the rest.
I learned from my first Gemma James book to shove expectations aside. That’s not to say I don’t begin one of her books with no expectations, but I never really know what I’m getting into until I dive in! Aries is no exception!

Part of me thinks I should have waited until more than one book was out, because waiting until December is going to kill me! This first installment lays down the groundwork for the rest of the books. Each of the 12 men in the Brotherhood get one month with Novalee and accor

This is book one in Gemma James’ latest series The Zodiac Queen which is a twelve part collection.

This series follows Novalee Van Buren a twelve year old Queen who has been contracted out by her Uncle to the Zodiac Brotherhood. When she turns eighteen she is to spend 12 months, a month each with each brother before being auctioned to be married to one. But the one catch is she must remain innocent and untouched until her wedding night.

Aries is #1 of the twelve-part series ‘The Zodiac Queen’ by Gemma James. This is my first book by Gemma James and I really enjoyed it. It might have been a novella but it was packed with plenty of emotion and action.
Novalee is a princess who is orphaned at a young age. Instead of becoming the ruling queen, her uncle takes over. He masterminds a plan in which Novalee has no say in.
When she reaches the age of eighteen, she will be given into the hands of The Brotherhood. This mysterious group of

I read a little of this story beforehand but WOW, this one will have you glued to each page until you reach the end. Which was entirely too quick for me. I knew if I got the change to review it, there would be no second-guessing, I had to have it.
Novalee loses her parents at the age of 12 and her uncle is all too eager to take their place. He wants to be in control, of the kingdom and of her. He makes a deal with a man to marry her off when she turns 18. But what is scary for Novalee is that the
