This bookmstarts off roughly where the last book ended. Freddie and Anna are finally getting back on course after all the trials and tribulations they have been through. Freddie hears through the grapevine that two wise guys from Manchester are trying to muscle in and take over the London drug scene. Drew and Jacko had ordered and received a vast amount of drugs from the Ramone brothers, ut they had not paid for them yet. Freddie and his brother Paul are also trying to keep one step ahead of the police. But they have a mole in the police force who is actually heading the case. So they should remain one step ahead at all times. And a face from Freddie's past comes back to haunt him.
Oh Emma Tallon! You have messed with my head big style this time. There is so much going on but it's not hard to keep up with. There are several twists as you come to expect if you've read any of the books in this series. This is quite an emotional read for several reasons, none of which I'm going to tell you about. I was on the edge of my seat quite a few times. I really could not believe what was happening, I was in shock. Then that ending! Omg Emma, I cant believe you've done this to me! Please hurry up with the next installment. I cant wait to read what happens. Best book in the series by far. I highly recommend this book and this series. Absolutely fantastic.
I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture and the author Emma Tallon for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Oh my days!!!! I need the next book in the series right now!!!!! This is going to be an absolute killer sitting and waiting for it to come out. I enjoyed this book way to much.
Living in a world of crime, nothing is ever going to be plain sailing. Just as things are looking up in the world for Freddie and Anna, yet again life has different plans making this one of the most gripping story lines yet!
The author really has you caring about the main characters in this series. Freddie especially, we shouldn’t like. Yes he has some good morals when it comes to his family and loved ones, but his involvement in the criminal underworld is so very wrong. Yet you can’t help routing for him and wanting him to always come out smelling of roses.
Reckless Girl has to be the best in the series so far. I was shocked, horrified as well as being an emotional wreck. The author had me hanging off every word as I was so gripped by the events that were playing out in front of me. The pace picks up throughout until the brilliant finale, of which obviously isn’t quite the finale with it being in a series, either way it has left me desperate for the next one. A thrilling, chilling, roller coaster ride of a read.
My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an advanced reader’s copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
This, the 5th book in the series can be read alone and also of course as part of the series So they are back, the Tylers, Freddie, Anna, Paul and various others like Tanya ( Anna’s BFF ) and the story continues pretty much from where Book 4 ended I LOVE THE TYLERS, probably my fav ‘crime’ gangland/underworld family and I felt myself relax and enjoy being back with them all from the first paragraph As always the writing and story is fast paced and addictive, it really is a book thats hard to put down as once the book starts you are there, with them and its literally none stop until the very exciting ending! The book is atmospheric and ‘real’, horrific at times but also full of human emotion, humour, grief and revenge, everything thats needed in these books is here I found this book perhaps the most hard hitting in the series on several things, brutal at times and raw emotion at others I really do love this series and everything about it, if this genre is your thing then you too will love it and if its not then give it a try and it may surprise you Roll on Book 6 10/10 5 Stars
Finally. Finally. Life is back on track for Anna Davis and Freddie Tyler. Well, that is as it appears. Even though the danger and threats they have been facing are gone, there are other things that are hitting the couple.
For starters, Anna is finally accepting the loss of their baby and is ready to move on with life. All Freddie wants is for Anna to be happy, even if it means they will never have children together.
On a business level, Freddie has competition with a new gang trying to take over his business and is interfering with his drug trade. Freddie is proud to be a mob boss and has gained major respect. With Anna busy working on a new business venture with best friend Tanya, Freddie is determined to remove the new gang. If that is not bad enough, there is a detective willing to do anything to bring Freddie and his family down.
Wait...things were going great...but it gets worse. Freddie learns something about his past that will throw a wrench into everything - his future, no doubt. But what is worse, this really affects his relationship with Anna and everything they have worked towards just might come to a crashing halt.
This fifth book in the Anna Davis series is incredibly thrilling! It touches on so many things. Of course, the fact that this is a crime family will hardly escape anyone's notice. The loss of their child and the devastating blow Anna copes with was truly emotional. Then, with the sudden change in Freddie's life, it came to no surprise, although truly heartbreaking, that their relationship might not survive. Add in the battle between the rival gang and the police and we have a well-rounded book that certainly kept me captivated from the very first page.
As much as I love, love, yes, LOVE this series, I am a bit unsettled by the cliffhanger! No, it does not detract from my rating. Not at all. However, what it has done is to keep me thinking about Freddie, Anna, Tanya, Paul and everyone else. Kudos to Emma Tallon. I am eager for whatever is coming next.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Wow Emma Tallon has done it again with another brilliant instalment about the Tyler’s. Anna is finally starting to come to terms with the death of her baby and life with Freddie is starting to get back on track. When an old friend of Tanya’s turns up out of the blue. She happens to be an old flame of Freddie’s before she came along. Her name is Jules and the news she gives Anna leaves her reeling. There is also troubles for Freddie when he finds out that a drugs gang from Manchester is trying to take over his home turf. But Freddie and brother Paul intercept the delivery, but that is only the start of their problems. When they find out that the Police are trying to take them and their businesses down. Reckless Girl is another enthralling episode of this story and it’s the best one yet. Although this is a story about the criminal underworld it is such an emotional story. You feel for the characters of Anna and Freddie and Ethan but, you feel shocked and horror in other ways. I don’t want to give the game away or it will spoil the story and the author has cleverly left you waiting in anticipation for the next book after that dramatic ending. Well done Ms Tallon, can’t wait for the next book.
WOWSERS... I have followed this series from the very first "Runaway Girl" and I feel like I really know the characters at this stage, their relationship is put to the test in this book (for reasons I cannot divulge as it would ruin it for others), however, I can say that my heart goes out to them both, Freddie on one hand trying to do the right thing and Anna wishing she could get past the hurt to support him. I know he's the head of London's underworld but I have a soft spot for Freddie and love how Freddie & Anna's relationship has developed and worked through the series.
Obviously the underworld business has to carry on despite what is happening in this personal life... Freddie & Paul get wind of the fact that a drug dealer, Drew and his sidekick Jacko from Manchester is trying to make a move in London, they intercept the delivery and things spiral from there. They ordered a huge amount of supply from their suppliers, the Ramone brothers on tick and now they have no product or money, they are in fight or flight mode as the Ramones have a special talent for hurting people and enjoying it.
To top it off, the Tylers are trying to stay one step ahead of the police who have a special task force to bring them down, even with Sarah heading the investigation (at Freddie's behest and on his payroll), can he keep dodging this bullet?
So much to contend with in this book, I am still reeling from the twist at Jacko's hand (in fact made me feel sick, I'm still in shock!), as for the ending, obviously I won't tell you but OMG, is this the end for the Tylers? I'm at a loss for words, probably for the first time ever!!! Please tell me there is a next book and if so when, when when???? Highly recommend the whole series.
OMG What a BRILLIANT book of the on going lives of the Tylers,Annie and Tanya when an old face re-appears it is not with good intentions.A gang from up north are sticking their nose into Freddie & Pauls drug business but haven't reckoned on the Tylers biting back.I could say loads but i won't spoil the book for others but i will say Emma Tallons books just get better and better and worthy of more than 5*.
This book is the fifth book in the series about Anna and Freddie and I haven't read any of the previous books. I actually think I'd have enjoyed it more had I done so as I initially struggled to keep track of just who is who, though I had sorted that out before too long! It is a crime thriller with gang land rivalry, threats of turf wars, family drama and police investigations - complete with an insider warning Freddie about just what the police have planned.
There are plenty of twists and turns with surprise revelations as the story progresses. It is an emotive read as it includes the turmoil of miscarriage, feelings of betrayal, an unknown son as well as the drama of the underworld, with its sense of menace and violence. This story is a thrilling rollercoaster ride, fast paced, intriguing and full or surprises. This is also an ongoing family saga, one that has yet to be concluded and the ending to this book leaves readers on a cliff hanger, ready for the next installment asap!
Many thanks to Bookouture for gifting me a copy of this book via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.
I’m completely blown away by this book... where do I start? So much happens in this book and I really don’t want to spoil it as you need to experience it too. Anna is still struggling to cope after the miscarriage, but her and Freddie are slowly rebuilding their lives. That is until a face from the past makes an appearance and their lives will never be the same again. There’s also a gang from up North that are trying to muscle in on Freddie’s patch, and obviously he won’t stand for this. Freddie and Paul take action against them and think they have it all in hand but events take a shocking turn. This is a real rollercoaster of a read and I absolutely loved it. I don’t know how I’ll manage to wait for the next one though... Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
What a fabulous weekend I had! I spent it with … Freddie Tyler! 😉 🙂
It’s always such a treat reading the next part in this utterly, totally bewitching series.
Freddie is ruthless toward his enemies, but he has a heart of gold for those who he considers family.
A lot of shocking things happen in this story and one moment my heart missed a beat (or two), the next it felt like a horse competing in a steeple chase.
The story is rough, sometimes rather juicy 😉 and heartbreaking, but other scenes fill your heart with love.
Every time I think this is top of the bill and every time the author manages to surprise me and rise above herself.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! This book deserves about 5 million stars at least. 🙂
Thank you, Emma Tallon and Bookouture (via Netgalley)
Nothing can stop the bond between Anna and Freddie. Having to deal with the kidnap and loss of their baby Anna is slowly getting back to herself when she is fronted with the worst thing to deal with yet. Can she do what Freddie is expecting her to do, can she get past her nightmares to step up to the mark.
Brilliant yet again, I hope it’s not an eternity until the next instalment, the characters, topics, at present the stories are more exciting than any martina cold book.
Here's an author that only gets better with every book...........Her Books are Just brilliant and this last instalment kept me up all night!!!! Reckless Girl by Emma Tallon is the fifth book in the Tylers, Annie and Tanya Series OMG what a book this was. One thing I love about Emma's books is you can read her books either as a stand alone or as a series......But I highly recommend if you read this books as a stand alone. Please go back and read the rest. You will not be disappointed.
So much happens in the brilliant book..........Anna is still trying to come to terms miscarrying her's and Freddie's baby from the last book. However, they are both slowly coming to terms with their loss and rebuilding their lives together. Anna throws herself into her work. Her clubs with Tanya are doing well and they are opening a new business venture together. Freddie hears there's a big drugs gang from Manchester trying muscling in on Tyler's turf on his home turf. Freddie and his brother Paul work closely together and seize's the big drugs delivery that was being delivered. However, by doing this, this will only causes big problems for the both of them. Close family members and people around them will get hurt.
Freddie then finds out the Police are getting closer to take him down!!!! (NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!)
A very old friend from way back of Tanya's comes back on the scene. They both use to work together and she has found an easy way to get money...........and she has nothing to loose but Freddie has! OMG I love this new character Tanya's friend brings with her and I can see a great part for them in future these books in this series.
The ending of this book was Brilliant and It took my breathe away!
Will Freddie get out of this one?
This was so hard to write this review and not give too much away. However, I highly recommend Emma's books.
Plus, are the best series of books I have read in a long time.............
Can't wait to read book 6 in this series......No rush Emma!
Big Thank You to Bookouture and NetGalley for an advanced reader’s copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
Wow, another cracking read from Emma and for some reason I thought it was the final book in the series but I'm delighted to say I'm wrong. Just as everything seems to be falling into place for Anna and Freddie, more upheaval happens and the result being a new start but it's not long before they lose somebody very close to them both. I do hope it's not too long a wait for the next book 😁. I would definitely recommend reading this and I would like to thank the publishers and netgalley for letting me have the book to review and the opinions expressed are entirely my own views and are completely unbiased.

EMMA TALLON has done it again each book gets better and better one talented lady gritty an edge of your seat read . this book has it all but everyone does once you start you wont want to stop till you have read it till the end .Anna is one sassy lady Freddie is even more a challenge . and he has a lot to contend with in this book its very emotional someone from his past Trys to take him for everything and the police are trying to bring him down. this book brought tears to my eyes not going to say anymore but a must read recommend all this series you wont be disappointed
Anna and Freddie have faced a lot, individually and together, but someone from Freddie's past has returned, with a bombshell which may destroy them altogether. An outside group are muscling in on their drug business, which won't go unanswered. The police task force are being thwarted at every attempt to find something on the Tyler's, and Freddie specifically, thanks to his insider tipping him off, but how long will that continue to work?
Damn you Emma! I wanted an early night, but Nooooooo your book just had to be so good I couldn't put it down. Thanks a bunch...
I simply don't want to give too much away and ruin your enjoyment of this Tyler family story. I love these characters. Emma Tallon writes in such a way that you can picture each of them, and feel like you are accompanying them and witnessing their experiences for yourselves. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed Reckless Girl, I recommend it to the Tyler family series fans, and will be reading Fearless Girl very very soon.
Do you agree with my review? As always, your comments are most welcome.
🎧 Like with The Drew Family Series I can’t get enough of The Tyler Family series. I’m going to be devastated when it comes to an end. Theres nothing like visiting with The Tyler’s and all the antics they get up to. Emma Tallon really knows how to weave a story within the criminal underworld. I love all the characters in this series and the relationships within such a tough world. This one hits a little differently and I love that the author isn’t one to just have everything work out and everyone lives happily ever after. This series just keeps getting better and better. Now I’m off to start the next one 😉.
These series of books are awesome. As comforting as a hot crumpet dripping with butter in the winter. They really are hard to put down. Nothing gangland stalwarts won't have seen before but brilliantly written so you really care for the characters. Emma Tallon is an immense talent. She does not complicate her books but still throws enough twists to keep you guessing. My biggest compliment I normally read an autobiography in between fiction books just to not overload but no chance with this series on to next one after writing this. Highly recommended 🙏🙏
Wow what a fabulous story this is. I wondered if the author would start to run out of steam at the beginning of this book but absolutely not. The intrigue, passion and love is still shining through and giving many twists and turns as we go. I’m gutted we don’t have book 7 as yet because I read these first 6 back to back. Keep up the fantastic work Emma, you have certainly proved yourself in this genre of writing. See you in the underworld really soon.
Another amazing book by the fabulous Emma tallon I must say that this is my favourite book by far (reckless girl) I just couldn't put this one down I literally read it in the day I can't wait to start the next one. I feel you truly get to know the Tyler family more in this one anybody that likes Kimberley Chambers and Martina Cole these books there is 8 in total are a must read you won't be disappointed x
Well this one certainly has a few twists & turns in it that you just don’t see coming & then makes you question the characters that are implicated. I think this book (along with the first book) is possibly my favourite so far in the series. However I am now about to start the final book in the Tyler/Davis series so maybe my mind will be changed….
On wow! I am still in shock over the arrests, and at Thea's funeral no less. This was an incredibly emotional book, not sure I've cried so much. Must hurry, so I can begin Fearless Girl...
OMG what an incredible read from this very talented author,, It even brought a tear to my eyes at the end,, I've read them all from the beginning and they Just get better and better
Fantastic, gripping story in the next chapter of Anna and Freddie’s lives. Some emotional heartfelt scenes kept me on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait for the next book!
Wow, this book had so many things happening I couldn’t put it down. Definitely loving the Tyler family books, I have laughed and literally sobbed whilst reading. Can’t wait to start the next one and see what happens next.
