Til Valhalla: An Ember War Novel
War is a crucible. Valhalla awaits the worthy.
On the battlefield of the future, armored mechs can turn the tide of any battle. With a nation under threat, a single small force of Armor joins the fight to hold the line against a merciless horde bent on total domination.
Chief Amos Roy—a young soldier haunted by the loss of his brother to the enemy—is thrust into the fight before he’s ready. War is a harsh teacher, and his fellow Armor are just as wary of him as they are the foe.
When the enemy unleashes a mobile battle station with the power to annihilate cities, Roy must prove himself to veteran Armor that he’s worthy to fight beside them. Can battle forge a team that will stop the enemy’s super weapon?
For here the Armor will find the Iron in their hearts and the spirit to win any war. Even if nothing but embers of defiance remains.
Til Valhalla is a military science fiction novel written by the Dragon Award winning and Nebula Nominated Richard Fox. Read it now!

Thoroughly enjoyable
Loved all aspects of this story and the characters are well formed that you take a genuine interest in them. The Aussie side of things was a nice change especially with their local tongue. It was great seeing some old faces as well, ultimately sad because the Xaros invasion is a handful of years away from here.....

I know this book is part of a much larger series, and why I bother to read things like this is beyond me. Still. I don’t generally like series, so why bother with part of it if you never expect to read more. And it isn’t my favorite genre anyway. So I’m not rating it, and I’m not giving it much of a review. If you like series, you will probably love this. It is very creative. That part I liked. It just made me think too hard about things I don’t want to think hard about.

First, I love the Ember War series and have read them all. This is pure unadulterated fun for someone who likes the series. This is before the series, but a darn good read.
This is one of those super fast paced books that I read in just a couple days. So much fun!

Great novel
Good intro to the ember war! I can't wait to continue reading them. I like that author had several characters in the book in the next one.

Excellent Armor prequel!
If you love Fox's Armor series as much as I do, this will have you foaming at the mouth for more! Excellent look at some new characters and more information on some we only know of from previous lore. Can't wait for another installment!!

I cared about the characters.
The Ember War series is populated by characters that seem remarkably real and human.Sometimes hard to do in this genre.Til Valhalla is especially poignant and touching. Real people who aren't afraid to fight and not for a cause, but for each other.

Can I have some more please, Sir
I'm a big fan of Mech stories and this is one of the best. Four Armors, four different personalities. All wrapped up in a terrific story. What more could one ask for?

Great Terran armor prequel
This is a prequel to the Ember Wars that introduces the armor corps. Fast moving, action packed wit new weaponry prior to the start of the Ember Wars. Early lives of characters in future episodes of the series. A good read.

Hoorah!
A great series just got better! The thing about prequels is there is a loss of tension due to knowing what happens in the future however introducing new charachters while having chameo guest appearences works brilliantly!.

Historical data is still the best
The early days of the Iron Hearts is pretty cool especially since I've read the rest of the series. Gives some historical background.
