I love Grace Callaway's books (and I'm proud to have been an "early adopter" of her work!), and I especially enjoy the chance to revisit a previous character from her earlier books. This whole series has treated the readers to this, starting with Harry Kent's story in the first book. This story takes us back to Violet Kent's story, which is a favorite of mine (The Viscount Always Knocks Twice from The Heart of Enquiry series) as it centers around Violet's chum Wick, which is how she was ...more

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The Duke Redemption is the long awaited book of Wickham Murray, who first appeared in The Viscount Always Knocks Twice from the Heart of Enquiry series. He was also quite the supporting character in Regarding the Duke, the previous book in the Game of Dukes series. Even though Wickham has jumped from one series to another, The Duke Redemption can easily be read as a standalone. Wickham has really grown from his role as a spoiled

The Duke Redemption by Grace Callaway is the fourth book in her Game of Dukes series. Book 4 is kind of a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast fairytale (my favourite) but with a twist. In this story the heroine is the beast and the hero is the beauty. The writing (as always) was absolutely wonderful and held me captivated from beginning to end. The emotion flowed off the pages and it felt like I was right there with the characters. Absolutely mesmerizing. Beatrice and Wick were perfect for ...more

Who said you can’t redeem a rogue and a bounder . Grace certainly can :)

Wick was always trouble, a ladies man and a disgrace to his Gentlemanly status, he was broke and working for a money lender.

Now he’s a recovering Rake , he has his honour back and he’s determined to keep in that way .
He’s about to be tested .

Beatrice is a beauty even as a scarred Spinster she has a presence about her.
After an amorous first meeting during which she is masked the two go separate ways only to meet once more

A refreshing regency twist on Beauty and the Beast.
I loved reading this. This is not just a romance. It has mystery, revenge and death strewn throughout. I admire Lady Beatrice. At seventeen her first season in London she suffered a scar on her face all from trying to save a boy from being beaten mercilessly. She was dubbed Lady Beastly. Little did she know how that kindness to that young boy would be returned to her in the future under the most dire and dangerous circumstances. Beatrice took

After being injured by a horse that left a scar across her face, Beatrice escapes to the countryside to begin a new life away from the viciousness of the ton and their distain for things that are not perfect. She turns her new estate into a place that welcomes other outcasts and become her haven. When the railroad contacts her about selling her property, she adamantly refuses to sell. Her estate is too important to so many and she would never take it away from them.

Had to get the fire hose out – hot, hot, hot. Normally I never use hot as a description for a book, but believe me, this one is definitely high octane. You get all the feels in all the right places when reading a Grace Callaway book. A twist on Beauty and the Beast that is fun, flirty, fabulous, and fantastic. You might remember Wickham as Richard’s brother from the Heart of Enquiry series in a not so favorable light, but in this story he is delicious, dirty-talking, and deadly gorgeous. He is ...more

Like Brazen and the Beast, this opens with a ‘I’m a woman in the 1800’s but I’m gonna have sex for my birthday because chaste virginity is a silly and sexist concept’ and I’m like HECK YES MY GIRL GO HAVE THAT DICK APPOINTMENT.

Wick is a tit man, I like that. Even more though, I like that he’s super feminist. This is another example of what I call The Feminist Alpha, who is assertive and ~masculine~ without being a toxic dickhead. Every single interaction Wick has with a woman he confirms

Once again, another perfect historical romance from Grace Callaway! I loved Wick and Bea together, loved the mystery, as well as seeing Harry, Tessa, Garrity and Gabby again. I cannot wait for the next installment!

4.5 stars, as reviewed at Roses Are Blue:

Lady Beatrice Wodehouse is on top of the world. At seventeen, she’s having a successful debut season, and, in fact, has just become engaged to a handsome young duke. A terrible accident happens, one that leaves Bea with facial scars, and also affects her very future. Bea realizes that her fiancé is now regretting their engagement, so she releases him. Society treats her differently, and her own family is in turmoil over her.

Grace Callaway is one of my favorite authors. She has given readers yet another fantastic addition to the Game of Dukes series. Book 4 in the series, The Duke Redemption tells the story of Lady Beatrice Wodehouse and Wickham Murray. This novel is a retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast story, which romance novels are known for. In this instance however it is the heroine Bea, who is the scarred recluse. The novel is also somewhat of an enemies to lovers tale.

4.5 stars. Callaway’s latest pits two hard-headed characters against each other. Lady Beatrice Wodehouse was shunned by the ton after an attack that left her scarred. She finds a haven on her country estate where she is threatened by railway investors for her land and an unseen enemy. Bea wants one night of passion and attends a masquerade where she meets a man who fulfills all of her desires.

Tasked with convincing spinster Beatrice Brown to sell her land, Wickham Murray travels to confront Bea

The Duke of Redemption is a twist on Beauty and Beast with Bea being Lady Beastly and Wickham being the Beauty. A facial disfigurement from an accident caused Lady Bea to remove herself from society. She surrounded herself with other misfits who became her family, but she still lacked passion. This book is filled with passion. Lady Bea and Wick spark passion and fireworks in this installment. She is adamant she isn’t selling her land for his railroad and he is adamant she will be his. I love the ...more

This newest story by Grace Callaway is near the top of my list of wonderful reads. I enjoyed the neat twist on “Beauty and the Beast”. I loved how Beatrice, despite suffering several tragic events in a short period of time, still retains her backbone to persevere in life and (deep down) stay open to finding true love and happiness. Wickham is an appealing blend of caring and sensitivity while being protective and commanding with those around him. There is plenty of heated and very sensual ...more

Another fantastic addition to this series! I love seeing Wickham’s continuing journey to redemption. I always knew he would find his way. I absolutely love Beatrice. She has risen above the hypocrites of the ton and she is one tough cookie who has such a strong and caring heart. The plot really carried the story along with the romance. I had no idea who the villains were and I was satisfied all the way through the story. I cannot wait for Fancy’s story. Also seeing the prior characters from ...more

What I like best in Grace Callaway’s books is that in the first part the hero and heroine are in confrontation and that enables the reader to discover their personalities and in the second part they join together to face adversity or their enemies. I really appreciated these two heroes and their adventures. Can’t wait for next episode.

I really enjoyed this story. I never dreamed Wick was redeemable, but Grace did a fabulous job. He was romantic, sexy and a naughty dirty talker! One thing I like about Grace's books, is the couples are normally together for a good chunk of the book. Richard and Violet are one of my favorite couples, so it was wonderful getting to see them again.

Gosh I love a Grace Callaway book! This one had it all - great hero and heroine, wicked villain, steamy love scenes, a well thought through plot, and the welcome return of many of the fantastic characters met in her previous books. The only thing I don't like is having to wait 6 months till Fancy and Severin's story is released!

Heart of Enquiry/Kent Family Series

Stars 4/5 (Jennifer Ashley, Sarah MacLean, Jess Michaels, Margaret Mallory, Julie Johnstone, Monica McCarty)

It’s always nice to discover a new author you end up enjoying...then binge on her reading material...Grace Callaway is such for me.

I read The Duke identity (Harry/Tessa: Games of Dukes) story first then started my journey into the Kent family from there.

Grace Callaway definitely has a script to her books...great characters, easy flow of writing, mystery

Regency Sexy:

Lady Beatrice Wodehouse is the perfect Ton rose. The daughter of a Duke, she is beautiful, charming, accomplished, and poised to marry well. But when tragedy strikes, Bea’s world is turned on it’s head and she has to learn to fend for herself. This puts her at odds with the devastatingly handsome Wickham Murray, a well-known negotiator (and reformed rake) who needs to make a deal - and fast. Wick needs to convince Bea or he stands to lose

Extremely hot, steamy version of some would say is Beauty and the Beast, just turn that story all around and it may sound a little like that book, unfortunately this reader did not sense any of that story in this book.

Loved this book of a very troubled man who turned his life around, we have meet Wickham in earlier books as a very spoiled young man, the title is perfect.

Beatrice is a Lady who ran away to her safe place after a horse stamped on her face, leaving one side scared for life.

A wonderful, delightful book. Though I m a dieheart fan of Ms Callaway n have read majority of her historical romances. My favourite being The duke's identity. Harry Kent is my favourite along with his lady Tessa. I thought nobody would be able to top Harry but Wick is truly amazing. He is officially tied for the top spot along with Harry. What a story... I was hooked n totally invested from the beginning. Bea came a long way. Wick n Bea were perfect together. It only took Bea so long to ...more

This book quickly shot the top of my Grace Callaway favorites It’s a sweet and spicy Beauty and the Beast retelling although let’s be real they both are beautiful. I’ve always liked Wick though even in The Viscount Always Knocks Twice. Bea is independent and yet vulnerable due to the vagaries of the ton. Something about her reminds me a bit of Catherine Marks from Lisa Kleypas’ Married by Morning. Wick and Bea have great banter and unsurprisingly the heat carries over to the bedroom, carriage, ...more

I can not believe how much I love this story that did not include a Duke as my hero. I search for a few things when buying historical romance novels, a Duke, a smart heroine, ballroom dancing, steamy sizzling hot sex, etc. I never make my choice require murder, mystery or mayhem, but they must, must have erotic lovemaking. This story sizzles with it from the very beginning, WOW. My kind of book, so I will be trolling other books by Lady Grace with erotic historical romance being the

Very enjoyable

While there is lots of steamy scenes, the book is filled with danger and mystery and friendships. The hero and heroine dont fall in love in two or three chapters, its developed through the book. I really enjoyed this book. It was my first book I read by this author but it won't be my last!

Utter Trash!

Don't waste your money, this is pure filth! I had to skip so many pages, it is nothing short of pornography!
This could have been a good mystery, yet this author, not writer, author denigrates the hero and heroine into nothing but porn stars!
I do not recommend, and want my money back!

Great story

I love GCs books as they always combine a great story with some very saucy scenes. The large cast of characters are all engaging and I look forward to the next in the series.

Redemption or Sin

A night of sin at a masquerade bonded Bea and Wick in a love affair of all times. The first chapter will hold your attention and when it ends you will want more. Tragedy, mystery, murder and love will definitely hold your attention.
