Excellent researched piece of work, I simply could not put this book down. It brings first century Galilee to life through archaeological research and science. The book comes from the BBCs' documentary series of the same name but this is a stand alone book well worth reading.

Got this little gem a while ago and found it fascinating. It explains how the political system of the day was temple based which is what Jesus was trying to sort out. It's a behind the scenes book which I wish I found years ago. In fact it's so good that I obtained a copy for my Church. The more people read this the better the understanding of the gospels and the lives back then panned out.
