3.5/4 Stars
Another good addition to Paranormal Prison series.
Prison Princess is MF prn romance, different from the others Ive read because it only has one alpha Hero.
Layne is a druid princess born and raised in Nightmare Penitentiary, she hasn't seen outside world and she has no idea who or what she is, but she was treated slightly better than the other fellow prisoners.
Cypress is an assassin, sent to retrieve the princess and get her back home to her family from where she was stolen when she a ...more

There was a lot about this story that just flat out made no sense or didn't work. Layne was supposed to have spent her entire life, from infancy on, locked in a prison cell - barely allowed to leave for occasional showers or food, she definitely wasn't educated or experienced in real life. Yet when handsome but asshole-ish Cypress breaks her out, she seems to easily adjust and not be anywhere as naive or confused or lost as one would expect. The authors randomly through in a line here or there t

So I wasn’t sold on this book until the very end. I thought the hero was such an asshole and while he had his (valid) reasons his behavior just irked me. The heroine is essentially a child in some respects. Sure she’s grown and she’s no idiot, all she knows of the world is what she’s overheard or been told. While she may know what a milkshake is she has no true understanding of what goes into it and what each thing tastes like. She’s lived her life in a cage, being fed Prison food and one can un

Weeeeell, ok. Here's the deal. This wasn't a horribly bad book, but it was reaaaally not good either.
At times it felt like a thinly veiled porno with as much as build-up to some scenes as a pizza-delivery guy coming over with his salami already in the box. And at other times it felt as if I was chewing on a sugar-free marshmallow: it had all of the required elements, but none of the actual flavor.

This is a fun addition to the series. I love that the MC is strong and caring even though she’s been raised in NP. I like how the chemistry is there from the start and just keeps growing. Not a big fan of her parents and I still need the people running the prison to get what’s coming to them. It’s fun to see the characters crossover even with different authors.

Another Win! Prison Princess was exciting and funny and then thrilling and suspenseful! I loved it! It's part of the Paranormal Prison romance collection, it starts off in the dreaded Nightmare Penitentiary. Layne's lived her whole life inside her cell walls, it is so exciting to get to experience the world through her fresh eyes! She has lived through some very unpleasant dealings and torture at the penitentiary. Her first encounter with the Moon and Earth was so breathtaking! I could see it al

This was a quick read. The world building is decent, but some elements are not really explained fully. The relationship has a bit of an E2L feel even though they aren’t really enemies. I do wish there was some more explanation/resolution on the whole moon goddess thing. We leave off with her powers bound and that part isn’t addressed in the epilogue. As with a few other of the Paranormal Prison books, the majority of this doesn’t take place in Nightmare Penitentiary. I’d consider it more in the

I like the concept but I felt the entire story was just too rushed. She's been locked up since birth which would create serious mental struggles that I didn't think were shown in depth enough. She also has an extensive vocabulary for someone who wasn't allowed to interact with anyone. The romance was a bit too Insta-love especially for an enemies to lovers trope and even the villain felt rushed. I would've liked this to of been longer with more detail outside of the romance, I.e; character devel

Quick, easy and painless.
Honestly, I was waiting for more of a twist but, given that this is under 200 pages, I should’ve known it was a pretty straightforward tale.
I liked it enough, however, it wasn’t anything particularly special and with the page count a lot the characters couldn’t really be fleshed out.

*WARNING* story contains explicit adult situations
This was an entertaining story. Layne states that she did nothing to be in prison, but her story is not what I expected. The story has some unsurprising plot twists. I'm not sure it's a "job" to love someone, but....🤷 ...more

This story was a bit different then I anticipated and it made me like it more. Even though I initially thought Layne would be hardened and maybe a bit mean being held in prison she was so sweet and just wanted to soak up everything she can. Cypress was also different then I thought, even though he is a assassin he had a softness to him and these two together were great.

Ugh.
So looks like my review is not the norm. Sorry. The story would have been fine if it wasn’t connect to the prison. I had to force myself to get through this. This author made the prison and warden out to be a joke. It’s so far away from the other books in the series. It really bummed me out. Don’t read this as part of the prison series, just read it as a stand-alone. There was a contradiction in one part that made me trip up. I’m not a fan of books that. Oh well. Layne Montgomery has been kept inside a prison for as long as she can remember and she has been told that she was actually born within the walls of Nightmare Penitentiary.
Yet one day she is rescued by Cypress, an assassin, who has been sent by her parents to bring her home. Everything she thought she knew is turned upside down as she discovers that she is actually a Druid Princess, and a very powerful one.
Now Cypress must get Layne home and she must put all of her faith in a hard killer to keep ...more

3.6 stars for me.
This book was well written, with a fun adventurous plot line, and likable characters.
The sex was steamy, Layne wasn’t some helpless or ditzy damsel, Cypress was that classic “fight this connection we have till my dying breath” kind of hero holding out with everything in him before finally succumbing. Overall I really enjoyed reading it and I thought it was a nice addition to the prison series. Once again I’ve never read a book with a Druid as one of the main characters, so tha ...more

This is the 2nd book I've read in this Paranormal Prison collection, both are very different, this one centers around a Druid Princess, Layne, who has been held in the Nightmare Penitentiary all of her life, she knows nothing about the outside world, about any possible family, is never allowed outside at night, prison life is her everything.
Cypress is an Assassin, he has been tasked by the King and Queen to rescue the Princess from the Prison and return her to them. The Prison is heavily guarded ...more

Prison Princess is a great addition to the Paranormal Prison collection. I loved Layne. She was a layered and complex character who understood the nuances of the world around her, no matter how small that world was. She was naive in some ways, but only because of her limited life experience having grown up in a prison. I loved that she quickly adapted to any situation and how observant she was with respect to any scenario she found herself in. Cypress was a great character too. Their relationshi ...more

The Paranormal Prison series has been pumping out some truly amazing stories, and Prison Princess certainly is no exception!
Cora Lee June and Rebecca Royce delivered a truly great read, and I thoroughly enjoyed all of it!

Layne has never known life outside Nightmare Penitentiary. Her life consists of being locked in her tiny cell, isolated, full of routine until the night a new guard takes her to shower during the evening instead of during the day. When Layne sees the moon, everything changes. Her entire existence becomes centered on seeing it and experiencing the way it made her feel again. After careful planning, she executes a plan to get out of her cell and outside but then he appears. Cypress. An assassin se

I am a big fan of Rebecca Royce's books and always look forward to her collaborations as well.
Layne has no idea who she is and why she has spent her entire life in a prison featuring all kinds of paranormals. It is a brutal place and she gets a little better treatment but not much. She is not sure what to think when someone appears to want to help her escape.

HMM THIS WAS A BIT TOO YA FOR ME, EVEN IF IT WAS NEW ADULT. THE PLOT WAS SO-SO, AND I DEFINITELY THOUGHT IT DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH WORLD BUILDING OR EVEN THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS WERE A BIT...SUPERFICIAL.

More stories from the Paranormal Prison; this time, a tale from Coralee June and Rebecca Royce about the Prison Princess and an assassin with heart.
Raised as an assassin, looking for an opportunity to make some coin, Cypress is more than willing to breach the walls of the Nightmare Penitentiary to free the long lost druid princess. Right now, the books from this Paranormal Prison series are some of my favorites! Even though there are a wide-range if authors involved, the books have all felt true to a singular author’s work. Let me tell you, I absolutely loved this collaboration from Rebecca and CoraLee!
