When is the next book coming out? I need it now! I needed it yesterday!! Damn, don't keep me waiting!!! Pretty please

So, now that this is out of my system, I can officially start my review. I have to admit I wasn't a big fan of the cover. Why do women on covers who hold swords always look like they have no idea what they are doing?! *roll eyes* But no worries, Lyria absolutely knows what to do with the sword. And the dagger. And pretty much any other weapon. She really is a

When do demons come to call? When rains fall, when rains fall.

A thrilling adventure of fantastic magic and relatable heros, filled with romance and danger. I loved it from the very first pages.

The Flame and The Blade by Meredith Hart is a fantasy story that you easily become ensconced in. It is well written as were the characters. Meredith paints a vivid picture of her world and the characters within. With magic and thieves, mages and monsters, action and adventure the story is well rounded and enjoyable. I also liked that the Heroine was large and in charge and a take no prisoners attitude.

Lyria returns from a mission only to discover she has been betrayed and returns to the family

This book starts off by following Vethe Scarvian, direct descendant of the man who almost destroyed humanity. Vethe seeks to separate himself from his family’s dubious legacy. As the black sheep of his family, he’s scraping together enough coins to help his sister with her extraordinary powers ending a life cycle as it did her mother in the past.
Upon finding out about a formal agreement of engagement and marriage hidden in the mysterious Demon Forest, Vethe is only interested in how much money

The Flame and The Blade (Flame and Blade Book 1) by Meredith Hart. I’m a person who truly has to be in the mood for a fantasy type story, it’s seldom that I am but the cover intrigued me so I hopped in. And I’ve got to say I’m rather glad I did. From page one I was on an adventure with the story world created by this author. The characters are complex and relatable and you can connect easily with them. It’s got everything I need for a great fantasy read from action and magic to romance and ...more

The Flame and the Blade by Meredith Hart is the first in the series. This is my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed her book. Her descriptive writing helped me see the Demon Forest in my mind. Her characters are complex and fully developed. The relationship between Vethe and Lyria is beautiful. I can feel what the characters are going through and for me that makes a great story. There are twists and turns which kept me on the edge of my seat throught the entire story. What will ...more

A great start to a new series! I need more of Vethe's smartass comments and Lyria's quick thinking. This was a fun read that I will recommend to my friends. Can't wait for the next adventure.

I usually demote books a star for swearwords and this has swearwords aplenty. But I can’t bring myself to demote it since I loved it so much! (Note to the author: why have swear words in it? They didn’t add anything to it. And the book would have read fine without them. It belittles the characters that we’re trying to use the crutch of swearwords to strengthen. Not to mention, modern swear words makes the book sound like it doesn’t belong in a medieval setting. Unless the goal is that you want ...more

After reading this book, I realized that this will be an awesome series. I’m very excited to read the rest. Considering how the book ended, I can’t wait to get my hands on part two. This is a fantasy novel filled with magic and adventure, some danger and love.

After getting her heart broken, Lyria leaves the Adventurers Guild and returns to her family’s Guard Guild in shame. Luckily her brothers forget the I told you so

Lyria ia a member of the Guards Guild who has been given her assignment to protect a noble man on his quest to find a lost contract from his dead ancestor. What she doesnt realise is that the noble man is actually wildmage who's magic is fire based.

Vethe comes from a noble background however his ancestor is the infamous Duskbringer who almost destroyed the world by opening up a portal and releasing demons into the world. This cause

Another great new find by yet another great new author. I just love finding new series and authors to read. This book was a breath of fresh air. I found that the author had a very unique world that she has created. The characters just jump off of the page and one feels as though they are in the thick of it with them.

Vethe and Lyria have two very contrasting characteristics but just really click together. I found the book to be perfectly

The Flame and The Blade (Flame and Blade Series) by Meredith Hart. This is the story of Vethe Scarvian who is a direct descendant of the man who almost destroyed humanity. Vethe has no use for his family's once noble history. His only goal in life is to get his sister into Citadel. Lyria Guardia let her family down 3 years ago even though she is trained to lead missions to find and recover items. The Flame and the Blade is the first book in the Flame and Blade series by Meredith Hart. It is a wonderful romantic fantasy- with plenty of action, adventure, magic, swords and sorcery, mages, paranormal elements, and fantastic world building.
Ms. Hart has a rich, detailed and descriptive style to her writing- which brought her world and all the characters to life. I was pulled into the story, experiencing all the action right alongside the characters. It was easy to get lost in the story

This is the first book in Meredith Hart’s Flame and Blade series of romantic fantasy adventure with swords and sorcery and demons. Although this isn’t one of my preferred genres, I loved this book. It’s told from the dual perspective of Lyria, a fighter from an adventurer’s guild, and Vethe, a wildmage. These two get off to a rough start, but as they learn to rely on each other to survive a dangerous journey, a passionate romance develops.

I liked both of the main characters, thought they had

The Flame and The Blade by Meredith Hart is the first book in what appears to be a fantastic new series. It is exciting and unique, well written and designed to pull you in from the start.
This book definitely has more to tell but I loved getting to know these characters. They were entertaining in more ways than one. I liked the fact the author didn’t just rely on the action and the fantasy for the book, it had so much more about it.
The story was well developed too. The pace was perfect, just

The Flame and The Blade (Flame and Blade Series) by Meredith Hart is a romantic fantasy that I loved reading. This is my first read by this Author and definitely not my last. The characters are very well developed and easily relatable and the style of writing is well written and pulls you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. The Flame and The Blade by Meredith Hart has the perfect combination of love, adventure and monsters. I couldn’t put this book down. I really loved it. I think the characters were really well written, I can’t wait to find out more about them. Lyria is a strong, independent woman, she doesn’t let anyone walk all over her and that is clear from the beginning, she has been training her whole life to lead others and is very protective. Vethe is a wildmage, he has had a

The Flame and the Blade is a fantastic story full of action, intrigue, humor and romance. Masterfully narrated, you cannot stop reading to know what will happen, while our heroes are getting to know each other and we are discovering parts of their past. At the same time that the plot takes shape, the relationship of Lyria and Vethe is progressing slowly from a beginning full of prejudices and distrust towards a progressive and mutual attraction, always struggling with the burdens of their past.

When I first saw this book and read the Synopsis, my first thought was 'Oh this is so my type of book'. Little did I know that would be a complete understatement. As I read more about both Lyria and Vethe I loved both so much. I loved the wit, the humor, the snark, the adventure. I loved how the chapters switched from each point of view but still explained the situations they were going through and internal monologues. This has everything. Action, Adventure, Brilliant Characters, Magic, and very ...more

The Flame and the Blade is an exciting romantic fantasy for adults. It has action, intrigue, romance, and banter. It's very descriptive with well-fleshed out characters in a survival type story. The author does such a good job describing the scenes that you feel like you're there with them. You can even feel what the animals are feeling! It's raw with an imperfect heroine and hero. Please be aware that there are some sex scenes and also lots of swearing. I would have preferred if the author ...more

The Flame and the Blade by Meredith Hart is a well written fantasy adventure. From beginning to end, the storyline keeps you turning the page. The progression of the relationship between Vethe and Lyria feels natural and unrushed. During their trek to find the betrothal contract, the obstacles they face are written in enough detail, you can perfectly picture it in your mind. The one draw back, in my mind, is the amount of foul language used. This is my first book by Meredith Hart and I cannot ...more

The Flame And The Blade. Wow I was totally sucked into this wonderful story. Meredith Hart perfectly painted this tale, the description was so thought out, it felt as if I was there with Lyria and Vethe in the Demon Forest. I found this book easy to read and it was unlike anything I’ve read before, I couldn’t guess what was going to happen. The characters were well written and very likeable. Really pleased this is the start of a new series, I look forward to reading more about Lyria’s adventures ...more

Right away I liked Lyria. There aren't many well-developed female main characters in the fantasy genre, so finding one really sucked me into the story. She gets her heart broken in the beginning of the book, but is no damsel in distress. Vethe was an engaging character as well. Prickly and aloof, and delightfully sarcastic. I was excited for the two main characters to meet and drive each other crazy.
The writing style kept me interested throughout, and the world building was descriptive without

The Flame and The Blade
Meredith Hart

This is my first book by this author. It is a well written adventure, with romance mixed in.
The main characters in this book come together under separate circumstances and their strong personalities make it a rough beginning. When their characters get together they have chemistry.

This first book sets the stage for book 2, in a cliffhanger way, I am ready for the second book!

I give The Flame and The Blade by Meredith Hart, 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this fantasy/fantasy romance book. Both characters feel like failures, yet they must go on. Lyria picks herself back up from heartbreak, swallows her pride, and goes back to working with her family. This sends her on a mission to escort a noble through treacherous lands. She just wants to prove herself to her family. Little does she know just what she will encounter and just how much her way of thinking will be altered.

The story of Vethe and Lyria was very interesting. It kept my attention and I loved following them as they took this journey to finding each other. I love fantasy and paranormal novels and this series have become one of my favorites. The Flame and the Blade has enough adventure and intrigue to make this novel a good read. I look forward to continuing Vethe’s and Lyria’s journey in the next installment.

An excellent book. The Flame and the Blade by Meredith Hart made me immediately regret that I am such a fast reader. The story was great, the world-building was great, the characters were awesome. The gradual burn of Lyria and Vethe’s relationship is intense, can’t tell you how that turns out without spoiling the book. This is my first Meredith Hart book, but I can tell you it won’t be my last. Can’t wait for more of the adventure with the characters I’ve met in this story. I will be looking up ...more

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it and will be looking for more from her. This is a well written fantasy book that took me on an adventure of romance, magic and action as well as some humor. The characters are connectable and made me feel as if I was part of the story. Lyria and Vethe have great chemistry as well as work well together. They made the story engaging and kept me reading to the last page. I highly recommend their story.

Frist of all the cover and artwork for this book are beautiful its one that drew me to it. This is a very well written fantasy book Meredith paints a picture of for you with her descriptive writing style. This is fantasy at its best monsters, mages, magic and thevies what can go wrong right. Vethe a right smartass her comments can be grunge worthy. Lyrias someone I wish I knew with her quick wit. The world building is fantastic.
