This little (and I mean little – 97 pages) book offers up two short (very short) perfectly delightful mysterious robberies of which Lady Gold Investigations, that is Mrs. Ginger Reed (aka Lady Gold) and her sister-in-law Felicia are called upon to investigate.
A fun couple of hours which happens to be exactly what I needed at this time.

Lady Gold Investigates Volume 2 by Lee Strauss were two very engaging short stories that highlights both Ginger's flair for fashion and her clever detective skills.

There are two stories in this volume and both are complete within themselves. Ginger and Felicia must find a thief of recipes in the first book and an artifact thief in the second. With quickly paced plots, a few twists, suspects that challenge them and Boss's help Ginger and Felicia soon resolve both cases. Felicia is now coming into her own as an investigator and look forward to seeing her develop more skills as the books continue.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. All of the above opinions are my own.

Ginger solves two new quick mysteries. In the first, a French chef is furious to discover his secret, signature dishes being served in restaurants around London without his permission. While Basil knows the police won't touch this case, it's perfect for Ginger. The solution to the mystery could really have been anyone and then it seemed rather obvious. The twist surprised me and didn't really make a lot of sense.

In the second mystery, Ginger and Felicia (and Boss) are excited to get a preview of a new museum exhibit on ancient fashion. When the lights go out and a priceless artifact goes missing, it's up to Ginger and Felicia (and Boss) to solve the case. The plot has a lot of twists and turns for a short story. The suspect pool is rather limited and I thought I knew who did it and why but it turns out to be more complicated than expected.

I like how Felicia is getting more clever and helps Ginger uncover important clues. I especially love how Boss takes an active role in the mysteries. He isn't in the main novels enough. Some of the situations are a bit far-fetched but I love him so much I'll forgive the random uncovering of important clues. Ginger is more enjoyable solving crimes than agonizing over her troubles to conceive/dealing with her foster child. She's sharp and stays calm in a crisis which makes her an excellent sleuth.

I enjoyed these two short stories but wish there were more in the volume.

Love these short stories

It is amazing how much the author is able to pack into these short stories. They start off like they are going to be full blown stories with character background and development. I especially like when Boss gets a role in a story like he does in the second story of this book.

Enjoyable Read

After reading all 4 books in this series, I thought this one was the best. I really liked the story themes, settings, presence of Boss the dog, and the flow of the stories. An easy read, taking a little over an hour or two at th max., these are perfect for a late night read when I wake up and cannot go back to sleep. My only problem, I wish there were more!

A great short story series !

This series is 4 books with 2 short stories within. Lady Gold has an incredible background. It is fun how she and her sister in law combine their information and solve the mysteries. Not all of the stories are murders, which is a nice change. There is also a series of full books. I look forward to reading those next. Happy reading !!!

Two brief, interesting cases. Low suspense, clever end twists. I definitely like this series and will read more. However, I could do with fewer descriptions of clothing. I really don't care if Basil was wearing blue trousers with pinstripes and argyle socks, or Ginger wore such and such a trimmed gown. But some readers may enjoy these details.

Two short mysteries which explore. The mixed mores of the 20s while solving crimes

I enjoyed the images of English customs and social perceptions and the solutions to the mysteries were ingenious. I rated it highly even though I generally avoid short stories.

I always enjoy a Ginger Gold story

Reading a Ginger Gold story is like putting on a warm pair of slippers. And now that I have discovered the collections of short stories, it takes very little time to reading a complete book.

I like these short novellas featuring Ginger Gold. These two were about a chef and a museum. Both were engaging and interesting. I know that there are more in the series and full length books as well. Bring on Mrs Reed aka Lady Ginger Gold!

What fun, fast terrific cozy short stories with two well developed mysteries so deftly written you can't put it down until you've finished! A fantastic spin-off of the Lady Gold mysteries gives us a look into Ginger's investigating business with Felicia her younger sister-in-law and of course her dog Boss, an adorable and faithful terrier. The first case she is asked to take has to do with a world renowned chef whose recipes were stolen. With lots of twists and turns, although rather reluctantly, she takes the case and she and Felicia investigate. The second case is the museum case where while she and Felicia go to preview the museum of antiquities, especially the old time dress, the lights go out and something of incredible value is taken. Ginger and Felicity are once again on the case with lots of suspects that they have to figure out. Felicity is showing her growth in the business and comes up with some good insights of her own. Boss plays a great part in both these stories with some strange insight of his own! I love these short stories especially as it develops Ginger's Investigations as an aside to the Ginger Gold Mysteries! I received and ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

another entertaining book by Lee Strauss. This volume contains 2 short stories perfect read for a morning commute or waiting for an appointment.
The first short story The Case of the Recipe Robbery involves GInger and Basil enjoying a night out at a French restaurant. There they meet the hysterical chef of another restaurant claiming his recipes have been stolen.
Through a series of twists and turns GInger solves the mystery

The second short story The Case of the Museum Burglary is a locked door mystery. While visiting a museum after hours Ginger, Felicia and Boss are suddenly in the dark. When the lights come on it is discovered that a valuable object has been stolen. Only Ginger, Felicia and the staff are there. With the help of Boss this mystery is soon solved.

Both stories are entertaining. As usual Lee pays great attention to detail with descriptions of Gingers outfits, the food in the first story and the museum exhibits in the second.

if you are an avid reader of her books you will enjoy these plus they are good stand alone introductions to new readers of Lee Strauss.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first volume of Lady Gold short stories and was looking forward to seeing what this next instalment would bring. The two stories in this collection are as varied as the first two, and quite different from each other as well. I did prefer the stolen recipe tale to the museum one, but both are enjoyable short reads. It’s nice to get some insight into Ginger solving crimes that don’t involve murder. It’s also nice to see a husband and wife author team working together to create stories about a husband and wife sleuth team. Yes, we do indeed get to see Basil in one of these stories (which makes me happy!). I also enjoyed the opportunity for Felicia to be showcased as she works alongside Ginger. With rare artefacts and a delightfully French chef, I can recommend these fun short stories for both fans of Ginger Gold and for those who would maybe like a taste of what this series is about.

A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All the above opinions are my own.

Lady Gold Investigates Volume 2 is the next in this stylish cosy mystery series set in the 1920’s. Unlike the original Ginger Gold series (if you haven’t read them, you must!) there’s no murders to solve, but two very intriguing cases which are brought to the attention of Private Investigators Lady Gold and her sister in law, Felicia.

The plots are nicely twisty and satisfying. And as always in Ginger Gold books, I’m totally charmed by the lovable characters, cute Boston terrier and - of course -1920’s fashionable flair.

Once again it’s a book I didn’t want to put down once I’d started it! Conveniently, it’s made up of two shorter cases, each of which makes a perfect read. (So long as you’re not in a hurry to get anywhere!!) I’ve been left with a smile on my face, wishing the next in the series was out already :)

Art for Art's sake

This is another satisfying tidbit or two in the Lady Gold Investigates sries. A short read to whet our appetites for the next Ginger Gold novel, Two stories involving art see Ginger, Felicia & even Boss find the clues & the culprits. Cookery can indeed be a high art with the theft of recipes being a grave matter. In the second story, a fabulous antique Persian dagger is discovered stolen at a small museum run by the husband of one of Ginger's friends. Which of the small group of workers took it & where is it?
I recomnend this book & the first Lady Gold Investigates if you aren't familiar with Ginger Gold yet. Once you read these, you'll want to download ' Murder on the SS Rosa' which is free, to see where it all began.

Another great cozy mystery . In the first story of the missing recipes, Boss and Felicia save Ginger when the thief returns to his apartment as Ginger is searching it. In the second story of the missing artifact Boss is the hero for alerting them that the dagger was missing.

I love all Lee's Ginger Gold cozy mysteries. I love the fashion, and the characters and especially Boss the Boston terrier turned detective dog.

I would recommend this book, good light reading for a cozy morning in your favorite chair with a pastry and a cup of coffee.

Thank you Lee Strauss for allowing me to read an advance copy of the book.

Format: Kindle Edition
These two delectable and intriguing little stories prove that great things do indeed come in small packages. Just the right length to fill up a spare hour or two they are welcome additions to the full length Ginger Gold mysteries available. Despite being relatively short they contain the same warmth and humour which characterizes Lee Strauss's writing. An added bonus was that the loveable and smart Boss proves his worth as a canine detective and protector of his humans. Read as a free ARC but this review is my honest and unsolicited opinion.

I really enjoyed these two short mysteries. It's amazing how well developed the plots were in so few pages. The first story was a mystery that I could not figure out how Lady Gold would solve it, but the reveal was great and so believable. The second mystery was solved in the same day since the suspects couldn't leave the museum. Lady Gold was great again. I really liked the part that Felicia played in these two mysteries. Her character continues to develop and she's no longer a flighty young lady. I know I will reread these short stories. They are definitely worth your time!

Whether it’s short stories like those in this book or a full length book, I can never get enough of Ginger Gold. She is smart, charming and very stylish. Her warm and sincere personality help her solve the most complicated cases.
I read this in one sitting as the stories were delightfully entertaining. While Ginger is always the star, her handsome husband and quirky family members are wonderful supporting characters. Whether you start the series with this book or go back to the beginning, I’m certain you’ll be hooked on Ginger Gold.
